"We have eaten here many times but last night the food was definitely not up to its usual standard. My husband had duck, potatoes and green beans but there were no potatoes. The ice cream that came with the dessert had a bug piece of ice in it. We both don’t feel well after the meal. Starter was excellent and the ambience really lovely. Service wasn’t great, I asked fir some ice and lemon 3 times before it came and they forgot my husbands expresó that he ordered"

"I have just recently visited the restaurant with my family and the restaurant decor is very nice and appealing but I was not happy with the service from the waiting staff all of one. and the food was not upto standard. The restaurant was empty except for my family so I thought the service would be more dedicated, the food was dry and bland over cooked and caused two members of my family stomach issues. Due to my family being hungry we had to eat the food, there was items missing from our food that had to be pointed out and took time coming to our table. The mocktails were packed with ice and a small amount of juice which was very disappointing. The service could do with much improvement as the waitress did not know the menu and what to do and how to set the tables we had to request for sauces which would’ve been on the table after we made our Order. It’s the last time I would visit the restaurant again due to the food and service and asking for the managers assistance with your concerns is non existence."

"The waiter was very rude and seemed uninterested in serving us. Every time we asked for another drink, it seemed to bother him. He even blew on our water glasses before filling them up. Despite the poor service, the starters of oysters and grilled lobster were superb. However, the main dish was disappointing and bland. Overall, the experience was lacking in flavor and quality."

"My husband and I had booked a table for 2 at Augustine as part of our Christmas Day out on Friday 23 December 2022. We arrived excited and very much looking forward to our meal following all the lovely reviews however it didn’t go well at all! Our booking was at 1.45pm and we called to say that we were running 10 mins late. This didn’t go down too well as the kitchen closed at 2pm. We arrived at 1.54 after sprinting down the road to make it and apologising profusely. I can honestly say that I’ve never received a greeting like this.. I think I have greeted a plumber to my home better than that! Clearly she was VERY upset that we were 10 minutes late. Well it didn’t get any better, the menus were placed in front of us (with no word spoken) and she came back probably around 3 minutes later to take the order and of course we hadn’t really had a chance to look, we were still trying to catch our breath and dab the sweat from our brows! So we didn’t really have time to take the menu in and had to order something quickly to avoid upsetting her any further. Unfortunately the service didn’t get any better, the whole experience was rushed and we just felt uncomfortable. It was like sitting in someone’s house who doesn’t really want you there! The food and wine itself was nice and the set lunch menu is excellent value but the service unfortunately let it down hugely."

"Having spent a number of holidays on various Greek islands over the years, I know a thing or two about Greek food. If you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine, give this place a miss. Apart from a very obnoxious and sarcastic waiter, the food was extremely bland. I always thought Moussaka was a dish made from lamb and contained aubergines, not made from beef with no aubergines! It was also served in a dish which led me to believe that it had been prepared in advance and stored in a fridge/freezer. The Meze was lacking a number of elements with a stingy single Dolmades (stuffed vine leaf) per person. The dips were also lacking in taste and may as well have been bought from a supermarket. A real disappointment Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

"We feel honest about Le Chalet is one of the best kept secrets in Leeds! This was our third visit and it became more and more pleasant every time we were! The staff (especially the owner/manager) is an absolute pleasure. They are always very friendly and welcoming plus, they know how to give each customer this personal note when providing their exceptionally high customer service and always with a smile. Nothing is cumbersome and they couldn't come any more! We have always appreciated ourselves in Le Chalet and this occasion was no exception! The selection of options on the menu is sufficiently large, so there is really something for everyone with many unique items that you fight to find somewhere else! During this visit we had the hot afternoon tea that we can no longer recommend! It was literally the best Afternoon Tea we ever had in every sense of the word! The portion sizes are fantastic, the taste and the aromas are purely exotic and the presentation is mesmerizing, so the whole setup excellent value for money! Special highlights for us were the chicken pasta bakers and the shells that were super freshly decorated and served. Every single article on our Afternoon Tea was exceptional quality and that is quite accurate! Le Chalet also had a wide selection of beautiful teas with a whole range of fabulous flavors. If you gently open the petals as if they flower in your drink when ordering the jasmine fairy tea is an extraordinary extra touch and bizarre quite entertaining. Le Chalet itself has a very special atmosphere and we felt very relaxed and comfortable during our visit! The layout, distributed on two levels, has a bit of balcony feel to it and is spacious, bright and warm furnished for all seasons. The magnificent chandelier hanging above the lower part adds an exquisite air of the class that is almost stunning when you see it first. What Le Chalet gives that something extra though, is the little touches that make you feel good! On the counter there is a small bowl of tiny folded pieces of paper perched with a small shield above, which says a quote. This little gesture made us feel not only satisfied, but, really inspired and we think that is a rare performance for a café / restaurant! If you haven't visited yet, you have no idea what you're missing. We are looking forward to our next visit! Le Chalet is not only the jewel in the crown, it is the precious pearl!"

"Ordered tuna and mango from the Raw menu thinking it was a main course. It was the size of a starter. Ordered pavlova but it was just a tiny piece of meringue with fruit round it. A pavlova should be crisp on the outside and soft in the centre. I had informed the restaurant we were celebrating a special birthday so expected a candle or similar in the dessert. Nothing. I had to remind the waiter who said he'd forgotten. He did bring a small sorbet ? with a candle in it. It was one of the worst meals I've eaten and I came away hungry."

"I used to go to Benihana regularly, Toptable did deals where you could have the traditional dinner for £20 so I have tried every variety of it. I have always enjoyed it and its a nice place to take guests who are in town as you are entertained while you eat Inclusive of the traditional dinners you get soup, salad, stir fried veggies, a prawn appetizer your choice of meat and rice. Each course is small but because there are so many you are full by the end. It is good quality ingredienta cooked simply and I have enjoyed it every time The chefs are really good and cook on the hibachi grill at your table, they do amazing tricks and are really friendly. The black cod and wagyu steak are...read more"

"Went for a late lunch on Saturday so was happy that they were still serving lunch at 3pm. Very welcoming staff and atmosphere, with classical music in the background. Place was clean but, although it wasn't busy, I was surprised that staff were not wearing masks. Main dishes were at £13.95 and the portions were of reasonable size, big enough I took half home with me. I had the mushroom stew with pasta and sour cream on the side, the dish was very tasty, even the pasta I normally don't order pasta when eating out as it's so easy to make at home. Would highly recommend and would go back when I get the chance."

"All staff members were so welcoming and friendly. Tables nicely spread apart to offer privacy. We were offered nibbles as a ‘gift’ which was a nice touch. All the food was nicely presented, not over facing amounts and delicious. Not rushed at all to get out as we are so often now. The best meal we’ve had in ages!"

"L'Ami Malo is the perfect place for great food, good conversations and impeccable service. The food is delicious (my recommends are the Complete Galette and apple and blackberry compote crepe mmmmmm , and cocktails mouthwateringly good, but what really makes it, is the ambience and amazing staff (they always go the extra mile (esp on your birthday when you get a complimentary glass of bubbly . I am also a sucker for ceramics and love their tableware too. IF they could just open a second branch in south London that would be amazing, but il still make the journey up to East London any day to eat at L'ami Malo :"

"We had a reservation for 11 o'clock and arrived promptly, but we ended up waiting over 15 minutes because our table wasn't ready. During that time, we had the chance to look over the menu and were prepared to order as soon as we sat down. However, our server chose to take orders from walk-in customers before us, which resulted in a longer wait for our food. We were also at a cramped table, and it seemed like the walk-in customers got better menu options. Overall, the meal was quite average; I've had much better experiences at other restaurants in the neighborhood."
