"I went to Gazette with my months pregnant) wife last Friday night. I'm a member of the Gourmet Society, and according to their website, you can get meals for the price of one. There were conditions, to use the card on Fridays you need to book on the day, and mention that you'll be using the card. I did all of these things, and the man I booked with said it was fine. All good. However, when we went to Gazette and ordered our meal the waiter looked a bit blank at us, and went to find the Manager. When I showed the Gourmet Card to the Manager, it was met with a Gallic shrug and a 'we don't do that'. He then turned on his heels and walked off, and we never saw him again. We were made to pay full price for our meal.I am very disappointed with the way we were treated in Gazette. It is dishonest, pure and simple. It's a shame, as we've recently moved to a house about minutes walk from Gazette, and we would definitely have gone again, and would have recommended it to our friends as the food was really good. However, all I will do now is tell everyone how rude, dishonest and money-grabbing they are at Gazette. Their loss."

They let dogs in and one was sat at on a chair eating off the table, disgusting. Food was too expensive for what it was. Won’t be going back

Excellent as always. Today we had the lunch special perfectly served by Ahmed and Francois. Herve is great but on holiday. Brian makes the best Mocha ever. The team here is very special.

Gazette, uses to be very nice restaurant with delicious stakes and generally food. We went last night and the whole experience with the food and the customer service was not on a level. Their stake was horrible, mussels and “king prawns” which didn’t look king at all. I won’t return anymore to this restaurant.

Very enjoyable evening out. The food was solid (not amazing but wouldn’t expect that) and the service good. The ambience was really lovely. We sat outside on a beautiful balmy evening and chatted the night away. We must have been there for about 6 hours and not once was there any attempt to get us to move on. Would certainly return and recommend. View menu

very authentic french bistro, feels like a piece of french in battersea. I'm fucked away from the river. fabulous lunch special in the week, £10 two course set menu or £13.50 for three. Mostly excellent cooking, occasional service is left out by inattentive but in the regular friendly. great wine list. nb, coffee often the weak point! family-friendly, large terrace.

A group of us went for lunch on a Saturday. Once again, we were not disappointed! A warm welcome and our table for 8 was well placed. Their special for July was Tartars which some of us had. Great portions and delicious! Others had steak and chips and fish. All nice! For dessert, some of us could not resist the Chocolate Soufflé, sheer indulgence! The French white wine came from their own vineyards, refreshing, crisp and dry! A lovely time enjoyed by all of us! Thank you once again Gazette!

First of all, I am French so I may be immune to bad service but I don't think the service is that bad. It is definitely something some of the waiters can improve on but overall the dishes are served on time and they take your comments on board. The food is really good albeit a little bit pricey but it's often the case for French restaurants in London. The steak tartare is excellent, the platter of cheese is awesome and they have a lot of choice, the plateau de charcuterie is made of good cuts. Those are the dishes I strongly recommend. They also have a lot of excellent Belgian beers and the wine list is fine.I have dinner there once a month on average and have never been disappointed with the f... I was telling my friend about my Gazette experience (available to read below), and it occured to me I'd never updated this story on the net. To cut a long story short, a bad situation was made worse by the manager, Walter. I sent him an email to complain about the way he treated me. Here is how Walter replied...Me: Depsite me clarifying being able to use my Tastecard and get for before booking, once I had got there with my massively pregnant wife and ordered our meals, you told me you don't do that' and walked off.Walter: We stopped using deal cards like this, as they were bringing the wrong sort of people into our restaurant. Judging by you, I think I was right.Me: We've recently moved to a...
