"When it comes to eating out at the moment, my life has become a little crazy, impulsive and damn right greedy – not to mention the dreaded weight gain which comes with it. Being all so busy eating, drinking and writing about food however does have some perks (apart from the obvious). You get to meet interesting new people, top chefs and some influential critics – the weight gain is worth all of that alone. Another unexpected thing that happens is you end up finding yourself a “safe haven” where you can forget about everything and relax – for me that has become Augustine Kitchen. I may have written about this place twice before already but if you go back through the reviews, read the content and look at all the photos you’ll see just how far this restaurant and its head chef/owner Franck Raymond has come. A group of friends and bloggers alike all came here one saturday (through my demands) so I could show them exactly what they’re missing – plus it was an excuse to drink buckets of chilled Champagne at noon."

the passion, creativity and experience of the chef make the augotina cuisine a very special restaurant. It is a quiet place with a very friendly and attentive staff who will be waiting for you to miss anything all night recommending the snails, the lentil salad and especially the pasta, you might say that when you try the food you will give you the feeling of being in Paris of price very well and the wines are very good.

One of the great things about being able to blog about what you love is that you get to meet like-minded people, and two years of writing about food have led me to some absolute sweethearts, who look at a Baked Alaska with exactly the same kind of need that I do. My tribe. Every month or so a group of us will meet up for food, drink and a natter, and this time round we find ourselves gathering for a lunch at Augustine Kitchen.

I have always thought out when it sounds as if the names of people were used for restaurants. it seems that they sound like the place around the corner to constantly frequent. friendly and honest eating (I hate this hot “most delicious food”. means that everything else in a familiar environment is fake. they only think of all the times when they like to say that they visit “Tony’s”, “Gordon’s” or “Jamie’s”. At least the latter is soon gone. View menu

My husband took me here yesterday and I am totally impressed with this great place. Place was amazing, friendly staff, great sitting and it was so nicely decorated. For starts I had tartines of wild mushroom and it was amazing. for mains I had roast cod and it was incredible. It was presented beautifully and it tasted great. Amazing service I would say, for desserts we both had dark chocolate mousse and it was heavenly, great place and reasonably priced. we had a great time. Definitely recommended!

So i had that rare opportunity recently of going back to a restaurant which i dined at last year, and said i wouldn't be returning too. Everything i ate last year looked clumsy on the plate, attention to detail was minimal and things just didn't leave me longing for them again. But something unprecedented has happened. Just take your time, visually to look at my review of Augustine Kitchen last year and you can noticeably see the improvements. The head chef and owner , Franck Raymond has certainly taken customer feedback to the max, because he's managed to turn what was just another French bistro restaurant in Battersea, to THE best French bistro in Battersea. Nice little French spot. Having grown up in the french speaking part of Switzerland, I feel I share a lot in common with French culture (more so the north than the South). Which is why Augustine's kitchen surprised me a little. Having grown accustom to being able to spot anything remotely French from a mile, I was astounded to realise it took me until opening the menu to do so here... Why? Because the interior of Augustine kitchen is so unbelievably normal. Beautifully normal. It's plain walls, open wine rack and bog standard tables bring together an allure of perfect harmony. Only exposing it's little French secret once you start looking for it. A refreshing break from the usual fierce prid...

Battersea is an area which i really love, but it lacks very good restaurants especially in the Battersea Bridge area. I was very excited when i heard a French restaurant had just opened just over the bridge from Chelsea, led by head chef, Franck Raymond who already worked wonders at Mon Plaisir in Covent Garden, with its authentic French food. Here, Franck is focusing on a menu led by ingredients from his home town, Evian. The dining room of Augustine Kitchen looks as though its been here for years and while it does have some charm to it, on the whole it feels cheaply decorated with some paneling round the bar which looks though it belongs on the floor instead. The menu is outstandingly pric...
