"we happen to arrive at a rugby match in twickenham and they served for £45 with a fixed rugby menu. they let us check it while they released a space and we decided to stay. we're glad we did this. the smoked salmon and carpaccio appetizers were light and very well presented. we have so hungry that our pictures have missed a third of them. the sausage main was quite delicious, but the lamb shank was the winner: with meat falling from the bone. I preferred her lammy, but was happy with my “Italian färger and Maische.” the tiramisu and rum baba are a split decision. we both preferred the ones we have. we also enjoyed a bottle canaletto pinot grigio, which went well with everything. we will definitely come back."

"You. my family and I had a 1pm booking and were sitting right away. 20 minutes later we waited for someone to pick up our drink order. a five-member party came after us and received water, wine, broth and olive. we can all see that we do this experience. "I chose this restaurant as the menu wasn't too expensive and is located within easy reach of the Albert Hall. I would say our waiter James seemed to be having a bad day and really struggled to smile. Cheer up James, it might never happen! I was surprised by the 13.5% service charge which is the highest I've seen but perhaps that's a sign of the times. Would I go again? Well I couldn't argue with the quality of the tiramisu."

"On entering I waited at the bar for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. In fact, in the end I had to ask to be served. I asked them why I had been ignored and they said they were so busy. No excuse I’m afraid. Anyway, after that we were led to our table and the service was good thereafter. In fact the servers were lovely. So on to the food. My scallops looked nice but were uncooked. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like them over cooked, just to be clear, but they were jellified in the middle, ie. Undercooked. I sent them back. My fiancés bone marrow starter was exceptional however. So on to Sunday roasts. We would give them 6/7 out of 10. The red cabbage was sickly sweet and the roast potatoes were under par. Not crispy enough. Why oh why do they stack them in a pile on top of each other in plastic trays in the kitchen which only serves to steam them and ruins their crispiness? This is such a bug bear of ours. Anyway, overall it was an okay meal in a nice pub. We would go back, but get a grip of the spuds please!"

"I went to the restaurant at about 18:30 yesterday because I fancied some pasta and the reviews were very good. The food was delicious, especially the minestrone soup, but what set it apart was the staff. Each of them was friendly, efficient, and understood the importance of customer service. My favourite moment of the evening was when my dessert took a while to come, which to be truthful I didn 't mind as I was happily sitting by the radiator with a glass of wine recommended by one of the waitresses. The waiter finally appeared with it and, with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, proclaimed, sorry, it took ages for the chef to cook your ice cream! In conclusion, the food and atmosphere are both excellent, and the staff are the cherry on top of the cake."

"we came in as we had a buy, get a free cream tee pass through the john Lewis Card app. After we had ordered ourselves and sat down, it took about 15 minutes until our tee was brought over us, what we thought was one, but when it was a Sunday afternoon and we reasonably understood. we thought the skorn would follow, but they didn't, in that we waited another 15/20 minutes and nothing came. our table was right next to the counter so we could see that many drinks/kissen/mice are placed on tablets and brought to other tables. we asked one of the servers if we could have the rest of our order, because he had not all come, she said (without apology offered) and checked our table number before she went back behind the counter. but nothing came back and after another 10 minutes we had enough and had to go as we needed to be elsewhere. we went and asked if we could have a refund because it was ridiculous that we would wait for over 45 minutes until a cake is placed on a plate. the dame at the time was the one who had taken our order and we asked where our food was when she passed, but she still looked out that we were angry! she went and got someone else, I guess her manager, who then told us that we could not have a refund because we used a voucher and included our ordering a free article. why that meant that we could not get a refund that I don't know, we didn't ask for the money for two things, just for those we paid. they said the best they could do was give us the objects, and within less than a minute they were piled. Amazing that it could be done so quickly, considering how long we had originally waited! I can't say if the actual cakes were good or not because we had to go somewhere else this afternoon, so they had to be left in a warm car for several hours and until we came home, the pots of the cream had to be thrown away and they had dried out."

"We started off with delicious sharing platters of vegetables, charcuterie, and cheese. However, we were disappointed with the main courses. The risotto was not warm enough and the lasagne was extremely heavy and unappetizing. The other dishes were average and not very inspiring. The service was inconsistent as we were attended to by multiple waitresses and had to wait too long for everything. We were unaware that the restaurant is located within a hotel, and during our meal, a large group of about 30 conference attendees came in and lined up for a buffet. "My friends and I did not even get the opportunity to enjoy our evening at Polpo due to poor response and terrible communication by the management team. 20 mums from my son’s nursery were all looking forward to an evening of food, drinks and conversation at Polpo. We called Polpo a month in advance, and spoke to someone who said they would be happy to host our gathering and would send a confirmation e-mail, menu and deposit form. We never received that e-mail. We called again two weeks later, and a third time a week after that... still, we could not get anyone from the Polpo team to send a confirmatory e-mail to us. We had to move the venue for our mums’ evening out because we had no confidence in the booking, which I think is a terrible reflection on and a real shame for Polpo. In this economy, one would think they would be pleased to host a group of 20 local mums who might do some free marketing for them via word-of-mouth recommendations. Instead, they have disappointed all of us, and they have lost a piece of significant business. None of which is good for their reputation."

I visited this place with my wife and 6 friends. a couple of old school friends on holiday from Australia and had an absolutely delightful evening, I had the most delicious fish and chips with us all, due to our late arrival..Citizen home had accidentally a 6 foot high schorn stone, part in our roof..so a good excuse too late!. all had main courses, without complaining, only lob, with a few with candy.2 flake wein and about 4 pints camp.plus a attentive and efficient waitress, without obtrusiw, along with brilliant companies, made for a great night. it is true to say above general critique commentary that menus have been trimmed..and to comment that in the rule this beautiful and quantum location is absolutely packed in the rule that on Wednesday, the 30th mai, when we visited, was sparsely populated.If they moan about it, then hardly the financial of the place.just the situation obviously post burden support them events like this or we will certainly lose them to mcdonalds type restaurants ughh. they can dinate fairly cheaply and have a great night with friends, as we, if they eat meaningfully, with a reasonable amount of alcohol. and enjoy the fayre such companies as this offer to the public. would certainly re-enter..staff and venue, for a good pub type evening, first class. this is a very attractive and beautiful old place where you can dine with friends. "Dough is a pizzeria/restaurant run by Italians in the center of Bath. With many options for celiac, vegetarians and vegans, nobody will be disappointed; you can even choose the type of dough! They have white flour, whole wheat flour, corn flour… and the list goes on! During weekend it can get pretty busy, but even without a booking, they can find you a table in 10 minutes. The stuffed eggplant with tomato sauce was simply delicious, the sauce reminded me of the summers I spent with my brother at my grandma’s house, when after the beach, she was always making a simple pasta al sugo for lunch, with her tomato sauce that no one could ever match! If you are going to Dough you must try their pizza, period. The pizza parcel is filled with grilled zucchini, aubergines and vegetable cheese. The pizza dough is stone baked and crunchy at the ends and the melted cheese is to die for. Also, the prices are affordable and if you have a reusable bottle, they will refill it for you. Let’s hope they will open in London soon!"

"we, a mixed family group of 6 including 2 young children, had here after a long day shopping at oxford street. the service was friendly and courteous (pushchair). decoration was beautiful and lighter slightly dimmed, added to the atmosphere. we had a mix with our order and it was quickly handled, both smooth and graciously rectified, which was very appreciated when eating with young children. we had a mix of pizza and netzen, all enjoyed. one of our party is vegan and was very satisfied with their dish and choice. overall excellent friendly service and would recommend for everyone near oxford street if they are looking for a relaxed meal. to add most of the other diners, had no children as there was 7 clock, so it was nice as our were welcome."
