"I took my kids on Valentine’s Day to make them feel special. I’ve been to Caffe Mamma’s many times before but hadn’t been for a while. This time was hit and miss for me. I ordered chicken nuggets and chips for my son, but the nuggets were tough. He struggled a little with them, saying they were tough and dry. Our starters were nice. We ordered Calamari and prawns. Both lovely. When it came to main, I usually order pasta, but rather than going for my usual choice, I went for lasagne. I regretted it the moment it arrived. It was just full of tomato sauce. The waitress who took the dish back asked me what was wrong when she saw it wasn’t even barely touched. I told her it’s just drenched in tomato sauce, I could barely find any meat and just got stringy cheese and tomato sauce. I expressed I was disappointed with the dish. They did nothing. In the end, we ordered dessert which was ok. But when I paid the bill for £80, it left me feeling disappointed. I still kept a happy face for the kids but wished I’d booked the Chinese restaurant two doors down instead. I won’t be going back to Caffe Mamma’s after this visit."

"undoubtedly, one of the best kebab chili sauce and kebabs throughout the central belt of Scotland! the personal is so friendly and helpful and ensures that they give customers good quality food. the chili sauce is the standard and bank brand for all other kebab-chali sauces in Scotland to purchase. it has no ketchup, sugar, yoghurt, mango chutney like most other kebab shops in Scotland. ketchup, sugar or yogurt or mango chutney should never be sweet in kebab chili sauce and kebab chili sauce should never be sweet. this local chili sauce is not so grateful and its not sweet and I think is with (even if this is not how the chili sauce is made, this is an excellent chili sauce recipe! : small white cabbage cubed (or half a medium size a large white planked couple of garlic (optional 300g muti passata juice of 1 lemon 2 large red chilis pinch of salt pop everything in a mixer to smooth. all other kebab shops in Scotland please take them to the knowledge and atleast offer customers an alternative chili sauce like these to the sweet ones they have. the chili sauce is not hot, it has a small heat of the price, since it is chili sauce, but not so hot they can taste nothing else. this chili sauce is also great with chips or on a cheeseburger etc! it is really so delicious! the salat was very good and each salat type were in separate dishes, instead of throwing only salat in a bowl that should not be like a kebab salad. sad they did not pick red cabbage so that my only recommendation is to have a separate bowl of freshly made pickled red cabbage (kept well with vinegar, separate bowl of freshly swirled, separate bowl of fresh gurks, separate bowl of fresh lemons. would be great if the owner might add that? my only wish to this place is please, which opens a duplicate in glasgow and keeps everything exactly as it is now, except the salads I mentioned. glasgow needs a good kebab shop with good chili sauce and good kebab salad! all Kebab shop owners read this in glasgow, please add these amazing things to their Kebab shop that has it."

"We visited this restaurant on our first night in Durham as it was close to where we were staying. I am delighted that we did as the food was really good. There was a very good choice of main meals and also desserts. I can thoroughly recommend the chicken dishes and also the pannecotta. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we returned again on our last night. The service was very good and our waiter was especially attentive and helpful as I have to eat gluten free. Thank you for two very enjoyable and tasty meals out."

"We stumbled across this restaurant after attempting to get a table at ASK Italian, our usual haunt, only to discover they were taking bookings only. What a brilliant find. No fuss, just great, friendly service and really, really good food. The front window looked like it had been vandalised and awaiting repair, which could easily put people off (town louts! but it shouldn't. We will come back here next time we are in York. Can't recommend the delicious food and great service more highly. Could probably do with a little makeover inside but that didn't matter at all."

"Great pizzeria with real Italian vibe. It is always full which is a very good sign so try to get there early as possible. Pizzas are delicious and clay-oven baked so they have that typical Italian taste that fast food ones doesn't. The oven is at the back of the restaurant so you can actually see when the pizzas are taken out of it once ready. I have also had the Carpaccio di Manzo (raw filet slices), the Gamberoni Frittii (fried shimps with garlic) and the Linguini alle Vongole (pasta with tomato sauce and clams) and they were all delicious."

"Top class Indian food experience enjoyed last Saturday at the Yasmin restaurant in East Horsley, Surrey, UK. Very tasty blend of spices throughout the dishes we had. Perfectly balanced tarka dhal. Good range of different vegetables in the vegetable pathia, Tender, well cooked lamb in the lamb rezala which was also delicately balanced in terms chili strength. "This is based on a one time honest experience: Place was inviting and service was good and quick, but then again it wasn't busy at all. Food was good and bad. Ill elaborate: The person i was with had a stone baked pizza and it was amazing, no questions there. I had pasta Carbonara and then pasta Bolognese to see if it was any better. The carbonara was not good at all, the sauce was so little i was tasting the dough from which the spaghetti was made. It made the spaghetti dry and bad tasting. The Bolognese was good as far as taste goes, but there was something very odd. The sauce was very fat, as a matter of fact, it was so fat, it was sticking to the plate and fork like fine coating. Ive only ever seen this when cooking lamb(i cook). Obviously its not from the beef itself, its fat that was added to the sauce/meat mixture itself. I thought it was perhaps butter(or fat milk), but the consistency of the sauce wasnt thick and velvety, so i doubt it. Was probably animal fat. Ofc i might be wrong. In any case, the 25g of fat per serving of pasta Bolognese is probably wrong. As for pricing, id happily pay the price for the pizza, it was awesome! But the pasta, for what it is, was too expensive. I can say about the rest of the mains, but avoid the pasta if you can and grab yourself a tasty pizza"

"Honestly, I must start off by saying how impressed I was with the quality of the vegetarian Chilli Freak pizza we ordered. It was arguably perfectly done with a delicious crust and tantalisingly good amounts of spice and heat — it’s just a shame with...what came before it. During a time of scrutiny where hygiene measures should be paramount within the food industry and takeaway kitchens, we were hugely disappointed to see staff at work not abiding by these guidelines, not wearing masks, beard nets, gloves and, terribly, handling meat without washing their hands before spreading vegetarian toppings. This is very, very poor and something I will write to Papa John’s directly about because (as pictured) zero attention or care is seemingly given to their customers behind the scenes. Not even wearing disposable gloves or masks with being so prevalent is something I find deeply unsettling. It’s therefore challenging for me to award Papa John’s in Brentwood anything more than two star. We also must address the costs of food on their menu. For solely a large pizza, you can be paying nearly GBP which is exorbitant! There is a distinct lack of friendly customer service and I imagine waiting times can be fairly long when the place is busy. So, all in all, whilst the pizza might have been delectable and makes formidable opposition when compared to a Pizza Hut order, behind the scenes there really is a great deal of work seemingly to be done. Quite dire hygiene it appears."

"Didn't know this place was even there. Very retro looking inside, like an Italian. Don't let that put you off though. Both the food and service were great. Our waitress was really nice and offered us the pre-theatre menu despite it being past time for it. Food arrived quickly and the portion sizes were really generous. After the good food and brilliant service we got another good surprise when the tiny bill arrived. We had three courses each and a bottle of wine for Such good value. We agreed we would definitely visit Azzurro again."

"Confusing experience that I unfortunately regret how I handled it. Me and my friend went for dinner. As we were looking over what to eat we heard a couple who were a few tables down ask the waiter if the food was two for one on starters and mains. He responded yes. When the waiter came to our table I asked him the same question and he said yes. Me and my friend proceeded to order two starters and two mains between us(before I ordered I also asked him a further question if we could mix and match the orders. He also said yes) When the time came to pay only one starter and main was on the bill including our drinks. We paid the bill. Only then after the waiter asked if we had a card to show we get two for one on food. We were so confused at this point because not once from the start I enquired about the deal until we paid did he mentioned we needed a card to be eligible for this deal. In fact why even take payment before confirming. He spoke with his manager and they said we’d need to pay full price. I wish I hadn’t but I didn’t want to make a big fuss. It seems like a big oversight on the restaurants part not to check these things. In terms of food. My calamari included deep fried courgettes and bell peppers which I found baffling. I ordered calamari not calamari and vegetables. My friends pizza was underwhelming and the lemon spritz was not nice. Avoid if you can."

"So we booked in for a quick family catch up. The restaurant was clean and tidy but not to well lit. The young lady who met us at the door was clearly in a bad mood and didnt want to be there. We got taken to our table in the most abrupt fashion . We sat there for an age waiting to have a drinks order taken i gestured to this waitress who 100% seen me but turned her back. Eventually a male waiter came over . He was very polite and friendly . Our orders were placed with no issue drinks came out quickly and the food followed . The pizzas were all fantastic . We had to get the waiters attention for more drinks and no check backs were made. It was the end of the evening and our waiter and the shift manager were cleaning down and I felt this contributed to our service not being that attentive as they were clearly busy cleaning everywhere. So to sum up great food friendly staff bar one and maybe best to avoid booking at the end of the day"

"I started with the bruschetta topped with mushrooms, which was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. For my main course, I had the bistecca, or sirloin steak, with artichokes in a white wine sauce, served with roast potatoes and nuts. The steak could have used a bit more seasoning, but overall it was delicious. I also enjoyed a glass of house red wine from Verona, which was a bit sour but still enjoyable. The service was decent, with a single waiter handling several tables. While he was friendly and welcoming, we had to make an effort to get his attention when we needed something. Overall, it was a good first experience of authentic Italian cuisine in Edinburgh, though there were a few minor drawbacks."

"we visited here for lunch on Sunday. at the arrival we were the only customers in the restaurant. we ordered a garlic bread to start with cheese and two pizzas. within about 10 minutes the garlic bread arrived, but it had no cheese. we mentioned this to the waiter who apologized, but we have starved so it somehow ate. about 10 minutes after the completion we were asked they are ready for the net now, to which of course we said we expected them to arrive immediately well, it was about another 20 minutes until the pizzas arrived at our table! that said they were very good, with a slight sharp teig. tiramisu for dessert was also excellent."

"The restaurant was very busy. We were given a warm welcome.Menus came quickly. The service was fairly slow and only 2 glasses of water were delivered to the table with the other drinks. The food was tasty with good sized portions. There were no pizzas as there was a problem with the oven. (Repair was in hand) After the main course no one asked us about dessert. When the menus came and a sweet was ordered it just didn't come. We reminded 3 different waiters before it came! The same with the bill!. The restaurant is good but they seemed under a lot of pressure when busy. I also felt there had been a big increase in drinks prices. Cheapest red wine£8.50 for a 250ml glass."
