"I started with the bruschetta topped with mushrooms, which was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. For my main course, I had the bistecca, or sirloin steak, with artichokes in a white wine sauce, served with roast potatoes and nuts. The steak could have used a bit more seasoning, but overall it was delicious. I also enjoyed a glass of house red wine from Verona, which was a bit sour but still enjoyable. The service was decent, with a single waiter handling several tables. While he was friendly and welcoming, we had to make an effort to get his attention when we needed something. Overall, it was a good first experience of authentic Italian cuisine in Edinburgh, though there were a few minor drawbacks."

Food is great as always, great value for the price. Service is always exceptionally friendly, giving out the feeling you are dining in Italy. Would reccomend.

Gali's had a mixture of positives and negatives. Ultimately, the overall experience can be summed up in one sentence: the restaurant could benefit from a makeover. View menu

Real Italian restaurant with Italian staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Me my kids enjoyed the meal before we did the torchlight procession. Would recommend. Staff friendly helpful.

good family-estate that we enjoyed for early sitting on the New Year's Eve. not cheap £270.00 for a family of 5) but we have 3 courses etc. all in all, a good forerunner to new year.

It seems they may have been overwhelmed after the rugby game, as the service and food quality were quite poor. None of the ten people in our group finished their meals; I barely took a bite of my steak before leaving it behind. The wine was good, but honestly, I'd rather get KFC from just around the corner! Very disappointing overall. View menu

I booked a table on OpenTable a few days before our visit, but I was disappointed when we arrived. There was no record of our reservation, and unfortunately, there was no space available for us, despite the waiter acknowledging my email confirmation. I would recommend 'La Piazza' down the road, which was excellent; they managed to find us a table even though they were very busy.

I have been working in Edinburgh for most of this week, and while the weather has turned quite cold, my colleague and I have been looking for more dining options. Luckily, we stumbled upon Gali's on Maitland Street. Not in the mood for curry or Chinese food, of which there seemed to be an abundance, we decided to try out some Italian cuisine for a change. The menu at Gali's is more impressive than its outward appearance, offering a wide selection of dishes at reasonable prices. In addition to a variety of pizzas, they also have options for appetizers, pasta, seafood, and meat dishes. I started with the bruschetta with mushrooms, which was decent but...
