"Staff: I read other reviews and people describing the staff as friendly I came here a few days ago but I would never have walked away with any impression of a friendly place, nobody was rude, but they literally did their job as expected, and...no more, though we had interaction/saw with about 4 staff members in total. Food: Starters, we ordered as a veggie platter which was ample for two to share. It had an mix of different dips and bread and was quite filling. Our mains were a simple pasta dish (which we were happy with) and a pizza. I used to work for a high end independent pizza restaurant, I am sad to say the pizza was very mediocre and I wouldn 't bother getting one again. Overall; Value for money, but I 'm not dying to go back or anything."

"It was our daughters 30th birthday treat , but what a let down . On the whole the food was good , 5 starters and 6 mains , the breaded chicken though was like a piece of leather in breadcrumbs , the other 5 were good . Then we were informed that they needed the table in 15 mins ! So no time for a dessert , then the bill came with 2 totals 1 with 10% service charge and 1 without . We wouldn't have had 6 desserts but probably 3 at least , so on the whole they've lost at least another £50 and customer's for good as we won't be back !"

"what a nice place! we drove past when we looked for the food and had to stop and check it out. the website did not work and the phone was not picked up (and there were no menus on google to time! but we liked the idea of an authentic pizza as we are sick of the Kebab shop styles. I ordered two of them and a few drinks. it took a while, but the staff was super friendly and the mood was nice! while I waited, they offered me an orange juice in the house and let me have a place in the lounge. I'm not a native, but I'd love to come back if I'm close to what could be soon! the pizzas themselves were beautiful, we had them on a beach near and they tasted excellent. my only confusion was that they were never cut into slices, which would be a no-brainer for a pick-up order, but this is the only grip. I tried to make some photos of the menu and from the inside to help other visitors too, and I told the staff about the website not working too. highly recommend them now that they have a better idea of what it looks like."

"I order a meal at for one to be delivered through Just Eat this was Cleckheaton to Cleckheaton and was told it would it be delivered to at rang Aldo’s it took them to answer l was then...ignored by no one spoke l waited a good could here people shouting l then put the phone down and rang back which was engaged after about someone answered he said the meal was on its way then he said he will check yes he said it will be to minutes the meal arrived at They forgot cans of the pizza was lukewarm and hard the pasta penne arrabiata was over cooked the container was on top of the container which had the tiramisu in it been sat under the metal container was lukewarm by now. My score for delivery is: (this is no reflection on the driver he very apologetic about it been late and explained he was the only driver) My score for the meal: My score for the restaurant’s attitude: 0 (not answering the phone been ignored then told lies in how long it was going to be)"

"Great bar, reasonably priced drinks. Only issue is that the staff look like their under military supervison. I am in the UK on business and I’ve been in a few times and the staff seem amazing with great attitudes but It really puts a downer on the mood seeing staff being disciplined in front of customers when they are doing their job. Clearly business comes above pleasure in this establishment. Great place to enjoy a drink and a conversation if the management allow."

"We have been big supporters of Wiveton Hall and Desmond’s enterprises over the years. It is one of our favourite places to visit each summer. The vibe, the view , the food. We visited for our usual pizza night yesterday and enjoyed a great salad, fries, wine and the usual helpful and friendly staff were in full swing but oh what has happened to the pizzas? Far too heavy on the cheese, literally piled on making it heavy and greasy and no sauce to be seen. They used to be great but these were tasteless all 5 of them). A friend who visited 2 weeks ago said the same. Please sort out the pizza chef so it can get back to being brilliant !"

"Disappointed when after booking (you need to ring up to book a table), and then being seated, we were told that the pizza oven is no longer open on a Tuesday. No issues with that occurring as a business choice, however it is frustrating that we were not told when we made the original booking as that is a significant part of the menu. We would not have come on a Tuesday otherwise. Nevertheless we ordered from the rest of the menu. Calamari was excellent as a starter. All the main courses however, were very average and not up to the standard normally set by their fresh pizza offerings. We won't return for a while after this experience. Staff were polite."

"This is a lovely restaurant where we enjoyed sitting outside in the early evening sunshine. We were one of the first tables but by the time we left, it was almost full. Overall, the service and food were good. The antipasti selection on the Affetato Misto was nice, and we especially enjoyed the garlic bread with cheese and caramelised onions. The Tagliatelle Gorgonzola was tasty, though a bit lacking in chicken. The Pollo Piccata was very enjoyable and came with "roast potatoes" (more like sautéed potatoes) instead of the usual fries, along with a side of green beans. All the food was well-cooked and had plenty of garlic flavor. The only downside was that the service fell short towards the end. Our mains were cleared, but we weren't offered any desserts and had to go inside to ask for the bill. It seemed like they may have been a bit busy and forgotten about us. Despite this, we would still consider returning in the future."

"We found this restaurant after our hotel stopped serving food at 4pm on a Sunday. Although it's not a cozy spot, the staff were fantastic, even on a busy Sunday night. The house merlot wine was excellent and the pizzas we had were top-notch. We even got to chat with Sharon, the pizza chef, who seemed to appreciate our positive feedback. We hope she'll be working again when we return to dine there tonight!"

"Was turned down whilst I was with my children, they said first they were fully booked and later changed the story saying they didn’t have a table of 5. Tonight I thought I’ll go on my own before 9pm. The owner send the waiter to tell that the restaurant was closed, when I went to question the owner, he shouted saying this is my house. Quite embarrassing to act in such way. He doesn’t know that his friends recommended him as we like to try new restaurants. Anyway it was a very bad experience and poor approach from the owner. Avoid it at all cost never turn customer down, there a polite way to deal with is"

"Personally, I believe this restaurant serves the best tomato sauce I've ever tasted in any Italian eatery. The pasta and pizza are both absolutely delicious, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5/5, the service 5/5, and the atmosphere 5/5. Highly recommend!"

"By no means fine dining and a far cry from traditional Italian cooking. The carbonara was smothered in think double cream and lacking cheese, the lasagne was a sloppy mess with no structure but that being said the staff and service were excellent. The side...salads were busy, colourful and fresh and the garlic bread very nice. Please don’t visit in search of traditional Italian cooking as this is classic ‘English Italian’ and yes whilst edible seriously lacking flavour and finesse. Top marks to the team however, great attitudes to customer service."

"we went from warrington to chester for a nice day. while we walk around, we have tried to explore the variations of the restaurant, and we have seen this Italian restaurant. it is the best Italian restaurant in the environment. we have reviewed some (liverpool, some, warrington, leeds for example, but this is the best. pizza pasta was crispy, but soft, not wet, soße on “Sofia” was beautiful, no extra flavor required (not as in other restaurants where she would put everything from herself, starter was made fast so that it is a “perfect start” and that is served well. of course, my partner has tried her “House wine (white” and she was completely satisfied with it. so no complain at all, highly recommended if they want to eat in a traditional Italian restaurant. will be coming back soon! 3"

"I was not at mamma lina’s before tonight, but was recommended by some friends of a fitness class that I run so that I chose it for our Christmas party. there were a total of 32 of us. I have only praise for this restaurant. we all met in the cocktail bar to begin with, I drove, but I must say the cocktails looked devine. when we sat on eating the appetizers, all were bought together, like the main and desserts. the food was beautiful. they had a singer there who was very good and was really added to the atmosphere. the hospitality we received was first class, the owners made us all feel welcome, became accomodating and sure that we all had a great time. if you want to enjoy a good night with great eating, then I recommend mamma lina’s, I will definitely return!"

"Hands down the best pizzas my partner and I have ever tried (sorry dad! . We've been meaning to try this place for a long time but with Bangor high street being run down just haven't bothered, my goodness did we regret not trying this earlier. My partner is a previous chef and therefore a massive food critique- he loved it! We've tried all local pizzeria's and this beats all. I honestly cannot fathom that they aren't a chain yet and think they'd highly benefit opening another restaurant in another area. They've got nothing on Johnny Doughs! (Also I am the biggest lover of garlic mayonnaise and what the heck, a homemade garlic dip!"

"We decided that following the easing of lockdown rules that we would go back to the bell as my last meal before going away with work for 7months, I almost wish we hadn’t bothered. We booked online but they didn’t get the confirmation and said when we called that they don’t book as there’s loads of room... Walked to the bar and stood whilst the bloke behind it typed away on his phone and then walked off, the girl running it then appeared and apologised, got us our drinks and took menus over to a table for us. Service was very slow it was as if she was running it on her own! The food itself wasn’t bad although there was no pizzas on or steak so the menu was fairly limited. The mains arrived before the starters had been cleared and then came without any cutlery. What I really objected to was the bar full of young lads staring as we went to the bar to pay and the guy behind the bar continuing to chat to his mates rather than serve us, eventually and quite rudely asked if we wanted drinks. Hugely disappointing experience and I will be spending my money supporting some of the better served pubs in the area. A pity, as we used to enjoy the bell inn."

"Firstly i find the owner/ manager just plane rude. me and my friend visited on a sunday afternoon and was served by a young women who told us when sitting down to not ask a certain worker for anything as he’s useless?! but we waited 25-30 minutes to even have our order taken by her?!? no check up when food arrived and had to chase to get out order taken and to revive/ pay for our bill. How ever, the so called ‘useless’ waiter was actually so lovely snd attentive when he could see us looking around and explained to us that he wasn’t the best at speaking english and constantly apologised when we spoke to him and was extremely sweet and polite. i worked in hospitality for years and i understand the stress it brings but maybe some extra training for staff is needed"

"Overall just ok. Our visit was more highlighted by the horrendous weather but what did turn up to our garden table (in the pouring rain, so credit to them for bringing it out was a very average burger. We ordered cheese on it but it wasn't added so in the end the burger was a large patty, a big piece of tomato and some lettuce. The cornichons fell out but expect they were in there too. There was a nice spicy sauce with it but the whole thing was cold and overall not great... The kids pizzas looked great and were a good size (but cost £10! but the only option was margarita... No idea why they couldn't offer even some pepperoni. Wife's roast was just ok too. Cold but tasted ok."

With a thin crust and authentic ingrediants used, it makes the recipient think that they are in a italian countryside. The wood fired oven adds to the restaurants authenticity. The chilli oil that can be added additionally is hot though, you have been warned! Settings Review: Located in the back street of Balham alongside a Pizza Express, although there is no competition. It is not easy to find if you are not from the area. Once inside, you can find yourself a mixture of table seating randomly placed and may result in some tight spots. "Food arrived an hour late. Ordered at 1930, it came at 21:00. Driver said he had been waiting 45 minutes in the store for our order every time he asked for an update he was told “just coming”. They were apparently very busy. I ended up calling the store around 20:30 and was told it’s just being cut it was then sent 20 minutes later. Food was an okay quality, but was quite cold as expected, this place came highly recommended but won’t be ordering again."
