"Don’t bother visiting here the food is tasteless and drinks are overpriced. We had garlic bread to start which was swimming in grease. For main I had margarita pizza which had way too much greasy stringy cheese on it and no taste tomato sauce, I could only eat half of it. My boyfriend had bolognese which was missing a lot of mince and sauce, it was mostly over cooked pasta which looked and tasted like it came out of a tin and again he hardly touched his. Drinks are over priced at £4.50 for a 330ml bottle of Moretti. We did ask for another beer during our meal but we never got it and although the waiting staff are on the ball we felt in a room full of busy diners not to mention anything. On getting the bill we did get a complimentary Amaretto shot each but neither of us like this so we left it and cash is the preferred payment. As I understand their usual chef is not in at the moment but still a chef is a chef and should still be able to deliver delicious food."

"I never usually leave reviews, but I feel particularly motivated after my experience at villa marina. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and chorizo paella and I ordered pizza. Unfortunately the chicken in the paella wasn’t right, it was crunchy chewy and rubbery. It was inedible. I told the waitress that it wasn’t right and asked if it had been cooked properly, I was told that that is how the chicken is, if it wasn’t cooked it would be pink and I should Google it. She did offer to give us another paella meal, but she said it would be the same as that is what the chicken is like. She was very defensive and unapologetic which lead us to leave it and just not eat the chicken as we did not want to get ill. They did knock £6 off the £16 charge for the paella, however I feel this is not good enough and felt compelled to write a review due to the way that the situation was handled as it made the atmosphere very awkward and ruined our meal. The pizza and wine was nice though."

"Absolutely delicious food, not sure why I left it so long after dinning here for years first time returning. I went for the meatballs to start, the sauce was delicious just needed a bit of bread to mop it up. Then had the tri gusti pizza with chilli, everything so fresh and delicious. I won't be leaving it so long till my next one. Great takeaway service was ready on time and still hot when I arrived home."

"Visited with friends for an evening meal after hearing good reviews about the place. As usual I'll get the moans out of the way first, there are only 2 but unfortunately they are both about the meal.. I thought being an Italian restaurant having calamari would be a safe bet, wrong, it was so overcooked it was like chewing elastic bands. Mains, was a king prawn dish with pasta. It came with chips, unfortunately I was that hungry, I'd eaten half of it before I realised, the actual king prawn dish was lovely, but who has an Italian dish with chips? On the plus side, the place itself is nice, clean and comfortable, the staff and nice and friendly and the service was good, not having to wait long for your meal, there was also a good selection of wines available."

"ALLERGEN SUFFERERS BEWARE! 8 of us recently visited Bert's for a family meal. Unfortunately my 8 year old coeliac daughter was extremely ill for 2 days after, as she was glutened after making the staff aware of her condition and that she was unable to consume gluten. I spoke to Charlie, after she had spoken to the various members of staff who were working that night. I was repeatedly told, that everyone had taken the care they were supposed to have. and essentially implying that it couldn't have been them, and even the general manager agrees. This was quite alarming to me, as even if they think they did everything right to avoid cross-contamination, someone clearly missed something, or didn't take the required level of care when serving food to my daughter. She wouldn't have been glutened otherwise! Accidents do happen, and this negative review could have quite easily been avoided if I was given some reassurances, like acknowledging that someone must have missed something somewhere. Ensuring that we will re-evaluate our kitchen processes in regards to allergens, and providing additional training to staff to ensure this doesn't happen again. However, all I received was a complete lack of accountability and not even a sincere apology. Very disappointing, obviously we will not be returning and I will be contacting the FSA."

"I can honestly say I cant wait to go back again. One its stunning design and has joyful atmosphere. The price is bang on good value but wow the food was top notch authentic Italian. But the staff were just super friendly and helpful. Couldn’t of asked for more. I had a spaghetti dish and it was just perfect, al dente but on the softer side. The sauce was so creamy and silky and so well flavoured. The chicken was perfect and the flavour punch was amazing. The chrizo wasnt like any other I have had it was just so gorgeous. I had to treat myself to a desert, great choices but the tiramisu took my fancy as it always seems to. It was heaven on a slate, so fluffy, so fresh and so creamy. It was beyond what I have had in england of an Italian, it is up there with the best I have tried. In totally I had a main, desert and 1 pint and a bottle of peroini. Sub £30. Bellissimo, until next time"

"Had a nice business meeting, fantastic food, and good service as well. Had Campari for drinks, and and Bruschetta, Olives, Mushroom Crostini, for starters, and Veg Pesto Pasta for main meal, and Espresso Coffee to finish of a great lunch. Rest of our table ordered Gamberi pasta, and Pollo Funghi pasta and by mistake they gave one with ham by mistake, when pointed they’ve promptly changed with no qualms by one Alana, good on you, and people managing the place. Compliments to the chef. Ate at the same chain restaurant on last Saturday with family at Bluewater shopping Center and enjoyed a great Vegetarian pizza, and various other things. One of the best Italian chain restaurants, this is from someone who spent a year who travelled to Italy for work every other week and enjoyed real Italian grub in Milan and Florence. Keep it up."

"I visited Zios with some good friends for an evening get-together and had a fantastic experience. My meal was delightful; I started with an amazing king prawn appetizer and had pork belly as my main course. I also ordered garlic fries to go with the pork, but honestly, they weren't necessary—the pork belly and its accompanying sauces were more than enough. It was actually one of the best meals I've had. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The beer was cold and just right—delicious! Thank you for a wonderful evening."

"We visited this restaurant last night, the first time in a few years. The service was good and friendly. The pate was okay, and the dough balls were also just okay. The calzone and mushroom risotto were average, while the gnocchi was okay. Overall, the food was nothing special. The prices were quite high, with beers costing £7.50 each and Sprites priced at £4.75. We ended up spending £162 for four people, including a bottle of mid-priced wine. We were not impressed enough to come back in a hurry."

"We went for my birthday and wedding anniversary, which are the same day and on the night we went. At the time of booking I mentioned we were celebrating these.The lady on the phone told me she would set the table nice for us. The table was not set. We had starters which were just warm and then the main meal. Well what can I say about the lasagna. This was a bowl of mince meat with a quarter of a sheet of lasagna that look liked it been dropped and scraped back in. Again hardly warm. At no point did any one pop back to see if the meals were going well or if we wanted another drink. We had to keep getting their attention. We had to ask for clean cutlery after our starters. The whole experience from start to finish was appalling. My Daughter paid the bill whilst I went to the toilet as a surprise for myself and my Husband. The toilets were so dirty. When I asked to speak with the manager they were very dismissive. No responsibility was taken on their part for this appalling food and service. They spoilt our celebration."

"Just happened to stop by Fino today for an italian Sunday lunch, was absolutely delicious. We didn't book a table but were welcomed in. Our server was really lovely and friendly. The food was hot and delicious, from starter to dessert! We loved the decor and atmosphere of the old building. I love that they have further dining area upstairs which could be booked for large groups. The prices were very good to say that some chain restaurants are more expensive and not nearly as good as the authentic italian food you get here. I love that there's proper olives on the menu too! We will definitely be back. Oh and we had teenagers with us but the restaurant is little kid friendly too. Kid-friendliness: We had a table bedside us with two children and they enjoyed their food. They also have little paper aprons to protect kids clothing from pasta sauce splatter"

"The atmosphere at this restaurant was absolutely fantastic! It felt cozy and rustic with decorations all around. Italian music played in the background, adding to the warm and welcoming service we received. The staff was friendly and efficient, taking care of our food and accommodating any requests we had. We were even able to take home any leftovers. Despite staying past closing time, the staff remained patient and kind. Thank you for the wonderful atmosphere, top-notch service, and delicious dishes! For vegetarian options, there were plenty to choose from including Bruschetta and the option to have pasta without meat. Dietary restrictions were clearly marked on the menu to ensure the staff could accommodate any needs. The calming atmosphere also makes this restaurant kid-friendly."

"I shall list my issues with the experience because this deserves no more of my time nor my writing skills pizza fell apart (all toppings fell off) could’ve cut my pizza with my car and it would’ve been more geometric pizza was originally delivered somehow to the wrong house so it was over an hour late whoever was on the phone tonight (31/5/23 at around 6) clearly couldn’t hear or retain information as the pizza was at the wrong house wasn’t told about all of the ingredients on the veg pizza (possibly life endangering if you consider allergies) we were given a £6 bottle of wine as a peace offering even though the order was over £40 Appalled"

"Booked over the phone for a table for 2 on a Sunday afternoon, they happily fitted us in we arrived around 4pm to a very busy little cosy place, they seated us and then we had a little browse of the menu, we had the vagabond feast 12 pizza and a vegetarian Sunday roast with extra potatoes this along with 3 pints of poretti came to £45.50 good value for what we had and a really enjoyable Sunday lunch was had. Staff friendly, atmosphere good a lovely little place a must go in Whitehaven."

"This is a great wee hide away has a rustic italian home feel to it I can see the feel they are going for , had the king prawn salad which was way better than I thought it would be the flavour was amazing so juicy. "Not impressed, waited two hours for delivery and food was cold when it arrived. We were told that the food was out for delivery twice before it arrived another 30minutes later. When we phoned to say we weren't happy with the service and wanted to be compensated we we're told that it wasn't possible due to policy. Pizza were average at best, but I couldn't be sure as they were stone cold when they arrived. We were offered 20% off our next order which is pointless as we won't be ordering from there again."
