"Despite a reservation for 630 we didn't sit down until 7.10pm. Lovely and friendly though and fairly apologetic so we didn't mind the wait. Very slow service unfortunately, which meant we didn't leave until 10.30pm. Wine was lovely, food exceptional. Only real gripe was one of our party has dietary issues and could not eat their meal literally only had a few mouthfuls) yet there was no way she could take it home with her very adamant that it had to all go in the bin £20 meal). Next time she will take her own container. Most eateries offer a box these days but hey ho. We spent a small fortune on drinks and food and a little limoncello at the end would have been a nice touch, especially as it was for a 70th birthday but even so, a great celebratory meal and we will definitely give it another go purely because of the authentic and fantastic food. Don't let this put you off just don't expect a quick meal if you're in a hurry."

"didn't know this place was even there. very backward inside, like an 80s Italian. they don't let it go. both eating and service were great. our waitress was really nice and offered us the pre-theater menu, although it was past time for it. the food arrived quickly and the portion sizes were really generous. after eating good and brilliant service we have another good surprise when the tiny bill arrived. we had three courses and a bottle of wine for £41. so good. we agreed that we would definitely visit azzurro again."

"We had a great night on Saturday, 19 of us celebrating my partners 50th. (Apologies to any of the other guests if they found us to be too loud ????). Given the size of the party we were asked to pre order, which wasn't an issue. We were meant to be a party of 20 but a last minute cancellation was no problem for them. Food was great, service was fabulous and would definitely recommend. Thank you for looking after us ????"

"The evening was totally spoilt by the service. Arriving at 7.20 for our 7.30 table we waited an hour for three starters our party was for 7 people. 25 minutes later we are told our mains would arrive in 5 minutes, 35 minutes later the waiter came and told us that they had run out of chips! Absolutely unacceptable. We had been there over two hours and 5 of us had not eaten anything now being told that they had run out of , what should be staple item on any menu is unbelievable. We paid our bar bill and left. Unfortunately we would not go back ,nor recommend to anyone else. Our party had met from different areas for a pre Christmas meal so it was a big disappointment."

"Both Brighton and Hove venues are lovely restaurants in every way. Fantastic variety of the menu and very tasty, authentic specials . The House White was a welcomed surprise and the staff are always attentive and very good at their job. My only qualm is the £2 Freedom charge. If you 're Gluten Free, be prepared to pay an extra (roughly) 20%. This isn 't a charge with which I particularly agree. Gluten Free produce is traditionally more expensive, but it doesn 't justify the disproportionate charge."

"Lovely food great staff friendly the noise level in the bar area from people not eating was loud was off putting when trying to have a romantic meal/date night also didnt like the fact the staff made us put our own left overs from our plates into boxes in full veiw of other diners very unprofessional. "This restaurant has lovely decor and a lot of potential but had a number of issues. Firstly when we arrived it was very busy with staff running around looking rather clueless, we assumed that maybe there was a lot of new staff and that there...were some unavoidable teething problems which we didn’t overly mind. Our main course however was served to us without cutlery and we had to call our waiter back over to ask to be given some, you would think they would have looked to see if we had this, but no. The food was nice but nothing to rave over and we did expect more from a restaurant like this, didn’t feel it was worth the premium prices. Secondly we ordered wine with our mains and as a young man who is not typically known to ever have worn lipstick, lo and behold on my wine glass before even drinking out of it was a rather large lipstick smudge (photo included). I am aware from working in the hospitality industry that dishwashers do sometimes struggle to fully clean lipstick from glassware but usually when polishing or bringing the glass to the table someone should notice, which leaves me to wonder if it had even been cleaned. We then told the manager about the problem who was very apologetic and did immediately replace the wine and the glass which at least made the experience slightly better. We were however disappointed that when we received the bill that no discount had been applied and that the 10% service fee was still included. We payed our bill and left feeling displeased. Although this restaurant has potential this unpleasant experience has put us off and I doubt that I’ve will ever return."

"Having spent an exhilarating 2 hours on a RIB boat trip from Inverness, it was time for some sustenance! Queue remembering a nice Italian restaurant up the hill on the previous night's walk and a warm welcome for a late lunch/early supper. Clearly a popular choice, the garlic bread was in a different league to that we normally taste and the fungi starter we shared was gorgeous. I had the spaghetti which was just right for portion size and thoroughly enjoyable. Coupled with a couple of nice Montepulciano glasses and we walked back to the B&B with much to savour. thoroughly recommended!"

"We selected this restaurant for a pre-theater dinner and were, unfortunately, disappointed overall in our experience. The restaurant is much smaller than we had anticipated and when we arrived, the person who spoke to us manager, owner? asked for our name when I told him we had a reservation. Then he said who? as if we didn 't have a reservation made months earlier . That made our arrival at the restaurant a bit uncomfortable. After a bit, we were shown to a table in a noisy corner of the place. Meanwhile, the man who greeted ? us looked at the woman who would be waiting on our table in a way that felt to us like he had no idea who we were but needed to seat us, nonetheless. It was an apologetic look and it was noted. It took her quite some time to come and get our drink order which we all noticed. It seemed like once she realized that we were all ordering adult beverages, her attitude changed a bit as she realized that she could get a large tip for service which she, in fact, did . Once we started eating the food which took a long time to get to the table, we were happy with the dinners we had ordered. The food was really good, no complaints there. It was the service that was disappointing. So, if you don 't mind not being treated nicely in a restaurant where you 'll be dropping 2 or 3 hundred pounds sterling, and you 're only and all about the food, this place is for you. I left thinking the following : food that isn 't as good as the food we had here tastes better when the service is warm and welcoming. Overall, disappointed. Les Mis was awesome, though!"

"Great quality Italian Meal with very friendly staff and great value for money. Complimentary doughballs and olives to start followed by plentiful Monkfish and a delicious tortellini, washed down with half a carafe of white wine. Just to cap it off, the cheeseboard was amazing for £5.80, with 4 cheeses plentiful for 3 people let alone one and came with a complimentary glass of port. We have never had a cheeseboard for such a great value anywhere else. We will definitely return."

"Awful experience. Poor quality food, definitely recommend avoiding this restaurant. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and although the starters and specials seemed appealing, the reality was disappointing. We tried the deep-fried Risotto balls as a starter, which were bland and unappetizing. The mushroom and gorgonzola risotto I ordered for my main course lacked flavor and was more like warm, creamy rice. My partner's Italian burger was a complete letdown - it seemed more like a cheap, frozen burger from a discount store rather than a gourmet dish. Overall, the food was subpar and we left highly unsatisfied."

"This is an exciting new establishment in a location that has seen many different businesses over the years. The pizzas are generously sized, and the dough is particularly impressive. My 9-year-old, a huge pizza enthusiast who has sampled many places, considers this one of his favorites. The prices are reasonable, and while the selection of house wines is limited, they are quite enjoyable. We will certainly be coming back soon!"

"I booked a table on OpenTable a few days before our visit, but I was disappointed when we arrived. There was no record of our reservation, and unfortunately, there was no space available for us, despite the waiter acknowledging my email confirmation. I would recommend 'La Piazza' down the road, which was excellent; they managed to find us a table even though they were very busy."
