"insipido! did they know that this restaurant is not owned or managed by Italians?! there are no Italian cooks. no Italian waiter. eating is so dirty, the new menu seems to be chili on everything. no traditional Italian dishes at all. no taste for eating! where is the Italian authenticity? linguine all bygole the calamari could have been thrown off from the floor. zero taste on the over boiled pasta, no spice what ever. does not believe that garlic was used pennette con pomodorini served as a dog dinner. no taste, the pasta was over boiled and there was no taste of basil etc. I politely asked the waiter when the cook was Italian to say...read more"

This is a very nice restaurant. The food (we all ate pizzas) was very tasty, but also the service was wonderful! I would definitely recommend!

Very nice Italian food and very polite and patient waitress. Took our orders with great patience and got it all right. Everything that came were absolutely fantastic. Venue was quite the classy one as well. I can't complain about this restaurant.

very nice and affordable Italian restaurant. with regard to apperizers, the inslata caprese was fresh, but needed some extra dressing, the crostini misti is average. I loved the main course and dessert. her tagliolini con chorizo is delicious and the tiramissu could not be better.

the restaurant has a great decor and ambiente, eating is good, I have the mushroom flat cake that was delicious, but the margarita seemed brushed and cut. the staff seemed to forget a few orders and had to be reminded, but they noticed and gave us 10% because it was a good experience overall.

We had dinner here last night and it was great, the food taste delicious and service was excellent, the butler with awesome moustache served us and he was very friendly and funny. The resto was packed and people seems to enjoy their food and the environment. Overall very happy with our dinner

With a late night return flight scheduled to the ‘Land of Song’, it seemed a little rude not to squeeze in one more of Edinburgh’s culinary delights! Dining slightly earlier than usual and (supposedly with plenty of time on our hands, a last minute reservation request ensured we secured a table at a restaurant which had come highly recommended.

Amarone in Edinburgh has a great deal to like about it. It is part of the Di Maggio family owned restaurant group that you find across Scotland, but instead of the eponymous restaurants Italian-American offerings, Amarone is Italian all the way. A contemporary Milanese Ristorante and Pizzeria is how Amarone is branded and that's not a bad description. The conversion of an old banking hall has been undertaken as superbly as many of the others that dot the city, the conversion of the Vault into a private dining space is a stroke of genius.

Second experience at Amarone yesterday, was out in a group of 16. The restaurant was absolutely heaving, and running a set menu (with the option to order from the main menu) Had goats cheese and chutney to start, and then salmon fillet with basil mash and panchetta. Nice amount of cheese. The salmon was a but dry, guessing it's down to cooking on mass and having food sitting for a while. Last time I had the scallops and the pasta with balsamic reduction which was lovely. Service is a real let down. Staff are really quite impatient. Not the best Italian on the block.
