"I tried to order some food over the phone on 3/10/23 at approximately 12.20 am for lunch. Unfortunately the person who answered the phone was incredibly rude to me when I asked some questions about their menu as I am looking for some typically Keralite food and not just dishes from a bog standard Indian takeway. She told me she had no knowledge of Keralite food and stated I do not need to know about Keralite food as it is written in the menu and we are in England anyway . If you insist on employing staff who have no knowledge of your cuisine being served, at least teach them to be polite and not racist when informing customers of their lack of knowledge. I suggest you sack this staff member."
"I have been coming here for years with a friend and we always thoroughly enjoy our meal here. This is a top spot for Dosa and authentic South Indian Cuisine. We have the same dishes all the time paneer majestic, chicken 65 to start with, followed by one of the delicious dosas on offer. And at every visit the food is delicious, fresh and tastes the same as our first visit which is the the reason why we keep coming!!!. We always feel welcome and receive excellent customer care here. The chef also makes an appearance to greet customers and is open to recieving feedback from customers. We are so pleased that they are still open after the pandemic. Such a gem in the heart of Croydon."

"Incredible Indian cuisine! It stands out from the usual fare. There are excellent options for both vegetarians and vegans, along with top-notch service. I will definitely be returning!"

"Came on a recommendation that Sai Spice was a fabulous restaurant, much to our disappointment. Firstly, the starters were not overly impressive 6/10 The mains arrived at different times as opposed to arriving together despite a request to the waiter. Dishes: The IDLI that was ordered was soggy and arrived 15 minutes before any other mains were served. Keema was bland and tasteless, sent it back and returned with a couple of extra chillies mixed in. Same applied to the the Chinchinada and the biryani. It's fair to say that the dishes are lacking in authenticity, spice and flavour, how ironic that the name of the restaurant is called Sai Spice. If the restaurant is empty on a Saturday night then that should be indication of one thing and one thing only."

"Recently tried the breakfast buffet at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. There were a variety of fresh and delicious items to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helped us navigate through the different dishes. I believe this will become a regular weekend ritual for me. Overall, it was great value for a dine-in brunch experience costing £1-10 per person."

"Was underwhelmed by this place, having eaten before at the one in the West End and found their dosas to be good. Ate the veg mini buffet meal which comprised too much rice, two chapatis, two papad, a chickpea curry, a sambar, and poriyal (it's a choice between poryial or raita you don't get both but should really get a curd with this included). The chickpeas and poriyal were just ok didn't feel like there was that much masala in them and weren't that spicy, and neither was the sambar. Felt more homestyle but not in a good way (ie. you could make it better yourself at home). Place was freezing too as they door was kept open and initial service was slow. Added to that the prize of £10 as stated on the menu turned out to be £12 on the bill. Sneaky (and a mark off my review just for that). Wouldn't be back in a hurry, based on this visit, given there are several other much better South Indian places."

"I was in London with some friends and one of them recommended that we go to Diwana for lunch as he had been here before and said the food was very good so we all headed there. It's a short walk from Euston station negotiating the pathways between the HS2 construction site. The staff were very welcoming and there were a few groups of people in the restaurant. There were booths for sitting in and a little narrow for some of us. The food was good. They only serve vegetarian food so if you were expecting any meat based food you will be disappointed. The lunch menu was reasonably priced and most of us had water with our meal."

"Chutneys offers a great vegetarian lunch buffet. It is one of a small number of restaurants on Drummond Street doping so, and a fraction cheaper than some of the better known names, but the food is every bit as good and offers excellent value. There's a good selection of cold salads often centred round pulses with warm onion bhajis and roti to start the roti were the only slightly disappointing part of the whole meal as they were a little tough ! . Main dishes includes lentils, chickpeas, mushrooms and cauliflower in distinctive curries, with rice and a good selection of pickles. And there's also dessert with milk jellies and a nice variety of fresh fruit. I had a sparkling lemon and mint drink made to order not from a can it was very nice too, but slightly expensive. But they will just provide you with tap water, and also sell lassis. Note that it's not vegan I heard another diner ask which dishes were, and most were not vegan as many contain yoghurt or ghee. But for vegetarians it's great! Note that the buffet is not served at weekends, I believe."

"This was my first ever time in a Sri Lankan restaurant and I liked it. We decided to go there for a friend's birthday dinner on what turned out to be a very busy Saturday night, so the atmosphere was very lively due to big group tables of people. After studying the menú beforehand I decided to go for the mutton rolls as a starter, and I went for 3 of them...but 2 of them would of been plenty! I very much enjoyed the crispy breadcrumb exterior of these mutton filled pancakes! The meat inside was tasty and they were nice and filling! For my main I decided to have the mutton string hopper fry which is fried shredded noodles cooked with vegetables, spices and mutton. I found it to be nice, albeit a bit dry but the flavours, spices and kick of chili heat was there, a nice dish! I've decided to give it 4 stars as we waited nearly an hour and a half for our food! I know it was ridiculously busy but from what I could see the food is quite easy to knock up and send out...maybe their menú is a bit too big considering they have an Indian menú also. Friendly and patient staff! Worth a visit if you enjoy your Sri Lankan food and value for money."

"Well what can I say when we got to the resturant at the time of our booking the manager looked at us and said he rang us to tell us to come early as he has a larger booking later. he may have rang...but didnt leave a message so didnt know we booked a table before the large booking. The manager then proceeded to say he wasnt sure if he coulr accommodate our booking as the larger booking was coming later and he didnt have enough staff. I was shocked he was asking if we could leave because they were short staffed and the larger booking was more important. Terrible customer service such rude front of house!"
"Knew nothing about it and just took a chance. Glad we did. The food was of the best quality and perfectly cooked. My nephew , who is a fussy eater, cleared his plate. The aubergine bhaji was as tasty as it was beautiful. I had Chenna Masala and a amazing batura. The decor was simple, the service excellent and although it’s not the cheapest of places, the quality and attention to detail made it great value for money"

"TERRIBLE! Went for a family meal with the family service was horrible and place is filthy. So much wrong with the place no idea how it’s still open! Food quality was so horrible ! Toilets do not flush and so disgusting. Asked for multiple things on the menu and they did not have in the end we ended up sharing 3 cans of sprite between 7 people! I feel so sick that places like this are open in the UK! They need a visit by a health and safety officer ASAP! After asking multiple times for basics the attitude changed as we did ask them to tell us before we placed our mains If there is certain things missing from the menu. We were rest assured everything is available then when we went to order we were told they didn’t have most of what we wanted! So frustrating and then the guy serving gave us attitude!! Find it strange how it’s cash only in this day and age! So we have to go get cash out and truthfully don’t rate anything thought out the evening. Overall do not visit the standard is very poor!!! Be warned!"
"Our latest curry adventure took us back to Kerala at Onam, located at Tooting High Street. The exterior of the restaurant features black and red signage with red and gold curtains, giving it a bold appearance. Inside, the cozy atmosphere resulted in a solid Venue Score of 7.1/10. As we entered the restaurant, we were pleased to see other curry enthusiasts already seated. The starters we ordered, including Vegetable Samosas, Poori Chana, Plain Dosa, Special Prawn Poori, and Ulli Vada, were all excellent. The main courses we tried, such as Lamb Rogan, Nadan Kozhi, Nadan Erachi, Nadan Chicken Biryani, Appam and Stew, Chef's Special Aubergine, and Chicken Madras, were also delicious. The sides of garlic and coconut parathas and coconut and pilau rice were a tropical addition. Our overall dining experience was excellent, with a Food Score of 8.1/10. The bill came out to £116 for our group, equating to £16.57 per person. Although there is a 50% off food offer with a Tastecard, we gave Onam a Value Score of 7.0/10. Overall, Onam has earned a place among the top curry spots in Tooting, with an Overall Score of 7.7/10."

"Yesterday was my 3rd visit to this restaurant. First time with family a couple of years ago The food was not bad, but very slow. The second time was with my friend The tables were not cleaned and we were the only ones for the whole time we were there, so they can't even say that they were busy to clean the tables. Anyway, I went there yesterday only because our friend who organised the school re union booked this even before I knew of the meeting. The upstairs hall was initially booked for 15 people I believe, but there were 18 of us went. When we got there, we weren't greeted by the staff. The friend who did the booking took us upstairs. The space had a really bad smell, there was a 21st birthday celebration decoration still hanging on the curtain. There was an electric heater connected to a burnt plug point behind my chair! The hall was not in an inviting manner at all. There were not enough chairs, and we waited to see if anyone would turn up to say hello, but no. One of the friends went downstairs to get someone. Eventually when he came, he brought an incense stick and added another table. All this time he did not ask if we wanted any drinks or anything. then he took our food order. Most of the starters came quickly, but we got our plates and cutlery ourselves. We ordered 2 veg and non veg each for our mains, but they came in a big tray and no side salads or anything at all. He told us it would only be 15 minutes for our mains to come, but took nearly 45 minutes. We hardly had anyone coming up in between to check if we needed anything. When we were leaving, on one table a few men having some kind of meeting and another table with two guest. After a service like this, no wonder , this restaurant is always empty. Overall, the food here is OK and the price we paid for just starters and main seems reasonable (We only ordered a bottle of coke for drinks) but the service is not good at all."

"The ambiance is wonderful and makes it a perfect setting for drinks and dinner. My personal favorite dish is the peri-peri distributor, and I highly recommend trying the fresh passion fruit juice—it's the ideal refreshing drink for summer. The restaurant also offers a variety of chat items that you shouldn't miss, especially the dahi puri and pani puri—actually, all the dishes here are my favorites! Every customer feels right at home in this relaxed environment, and the customer service is always personalized and prompt. The prices are incredibly reasonable and affordable for such high-quality food. It's definitely the best value for money in terms of food! I would recommend my favorite Indian restaurant any day of the week, except for Mondays, as they're unfortunately closed then."
