"Stopped here for lunch after finding parking right outside Nando’s, but deciding to try something different Bad move. The restaurant looks nice and clean and was pretty empty when we arrived. On a Saturday afternoon. Granted it was but this is a casual...dining spot? We were greeted at the door by our waitress who showed us to our table, handed us some menus, then walked off. It was baking hot and I was gasping for a pint! Haha. She sauntered back minutes later and proceeded to take our order. Without writing it down. chicken burgers, fries twice, chicken wings, a pint of pale ale and a glass of rose wine. It took another mins for the drinks to arrive. Remember we are of dining parties in the place. The food arrived promptly and was of good quality. When I say the food, I mean most of the food we ordered. I assumed the chicken wings would arrive shortly, they never did. You get the impression no one really cares at this place. The staff all congregated around the bar area sitting down, taking, laughing, drinking, eating. No one bothered to check all our food had arrived. The wine was disgusting, quite clearly off, tasted bitter and vinegary. We asked for the wine to be changed and were told it’s the only rose wine they have. Wine removed from bill, fine. Presented with the bill which included service. I pointed out my food didn’t arrive and that I wanted the service removed. It was removed. The waitress was, despite being nice enough, quite frankly abysmal. The management here is non-existent. I won’t be returning. It’s a shame because the fare on offer is actually decent enough."

"once in the very warrrr pub (lovably open fire, very grateful, many thanks) I caught with zoe (the company's head foodie) and ed (the pub's head important man) about this new pub brand 'hippo inns '. essentially from a long time and out of the man and woman team that previously geronimo inns, the two have created themselves over with live music at night, comedy nights and even a movie club every Monday, the signal will certainly call to the whole community from one or other background. hen, the dinner talk came. as head food, zoe talked to me so passionate about her latest menu and the direction for all future menus, and long ago I asked her to let me eat some of them. the signal 's food supply is a real throw back on the simpleness of open fire cooking from the original ale houses. the spuck and grill concept will always be available to customers to observe how cooked and experienced, and the menus will always be the best in British ingredients. with a selection of local craft beer on tap, one as well as the token standard brews to keep the native happy, the main tinbar was an eclectic mix of real ales and laying, imported and affordable weine, as well as a ~impressive and heaving selection of london's best liqueur behind the bar. the menu of the cocktail bar in the upper floor has an impressive list of drinks created by the head mexiologist (formerly from mahiki in the southwest), and I was more than happy to get my hands dirty rehearsals while waiting for the food to be served. fyi the forest hill mule is **** delicious, 10/10 would recommend. When it came to eat, I was starved. with a sample from the menu distributed on offer to salivize us for the rest of the night, we have just moved in. a whole roasted chicken with meat so tender it fell from the bone; a cheeseburger so perfectly boiled that the meat juices, melted cheese and sauces mixed and dripping her poor; fresher beetroots salad, perfectly seasoned and to choose a many number of dressings; hand cut chips, dusted in the sea salt; chickens sitting in a bath of garlic and chili and white wine broth; fresh; fresh sour vinegar; it was a spread for a kiiiing and I ate it and I was in the sky.<br/ <br/ despite bottles of tasty Barossa wines slowly picking my inside sides, and the huh far too long to finish because it fell slightly from the fork, finally it was time to leave. as, legally, because of fleet licenses, not because of the choice. But thankfully, as mentioned, the pub is only a short walk from mine, and I was still at home and in bed until midnight. also in school. bonus points! the kater on Friday was totally worth it and to have spoken to some really passionate people was really the icing on the cake.<br/ <br/ the pub game in southeast iondon is certainly on the rise, and with the signal that in the squad there is more choice than ever. next off and off in waldhügel is my recommendation to check the pub and get her hands on her incredible rotisserie."

"The harvester has ruined Christmas 2023. We were positioned right outside a toilet and had everyone brushing past us while trying to eat. We were also next to a large family that let their children run SEMI NAKED around the table. The heating was off and it was freezing. The starters were cold soup or frozen microwaved brie. Mains consisted of cold veg which is quite impressive considering they had been overcooked to the point they were practically mush, paired with meat which had the consistency of leather soaked in brown water that was supposedly gravy Puddings were a choice of the smallest peice of Christmas cake soaked in lumpy custard or 3 profiteroles. Credit where its due, the floor staff were exceptional. Only to be let down by the manager, Neil prior, with his fake accent, who apparently couldn't process a refund despite claiming to be the owner. I have had to leave without any form of refund only an email. I have never heard such rubbish of a manager unable to process a refund. I will never visit this establishment again and would urge others not to. £280 to ruin Christmas. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS IN RESPONSE TO NEILS REPLY 26/12: The room was freezing, even staff commented that the heating was off and should've been on. We saw many surrounding tables with full plates being collected by staff. I understand that it is Neil's responsibility to protect the business' reputation but lying is not the way to do it. Still waiting on a refund and will update as this continues UPDATE 27/12 After raising a formal complaint with harvester, I received an email yesterday evening advising I'd be called by an area manager today this has not happened and harvester continue to spoil the holidays and I've also noticed the few false reviews that have popped up since this review Update 28/12 Spoke to Jennifer who processed my refund and was absolutely lovely, when I went to collect it though I could see neil skulking about in the background still looking scruffy. Overall I still rate it a 1 star experience based on the food but I will say that apart from Neil, the staff at the winding wheel castleford are all brilliant EDIT 28/12 Just received a threatening phone call from Neil on my personal mobile. This is completely unacceptable Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1"
