"This is a lovely place to dine. The food was outstanding, with generous portions that were beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. During our visit while staying at a nearby hotel, we were served by Ashley, who was both professional and friendly, making us feel very comfortable and welcomed. We were so impressed that when we reunited with family the next day, we returned for another dinner in the evening. Once again, Ashley was our waitress, and the service was excellent. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to her for the attentive care she provided. She truly deserves recognition for her efforts. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Thank you!"

"I'm usually not a burger fan, but was happy to try blaspheme as it had such a good call and fresh/local. I can honestly say I never have a burger like him (truffle hühnerburger). it was not only the best burger I ever had, it was the best meal I had in a long time. So, so delicious. I am disappointed that we will not be able to be regularly at this place. it was amazing"

"Excellent meal for a family group of 4 on a Saturday night. The menu has recently changed and the change is for the best. Highlights were the baked Camembert which came with plenty of fresh bread sticks. Sea bass main course came with 2 good fillets. Steak and red wine pie was also a highlight. Our waitress Liv was very attentive and knowledgeable about the new menu. She was a pleasure throughout our evening."

"we called 5 times at the weekend. hannah was a great server, full of advice and suggestions. nothing was too much annoyed. the other two young employees stood up, katie and johnny l believe. perfect staff. they also got the pub, we had a dog, so it was extra nervous for us to go with dog. the dog areas are perfect. this restaurant is on a canal so excellent for walks. large parking space and outside door area. well done to the 3 employees who made our first visit a pleasant and pleasure. thanks, hannah and team. continue. also have the pub and chain."

"Unsanitary I hate leaving bad reviews because I know how hard people work but the service and cleanliness of this place is so SO poor. Ordered a burger with no bacon but was served one with bacon so I sent it back. I then clearly and unmistakably saw the waitress bring it back to the bar where the manager used her bare hands to remove said bacon from my burger. First of all, gross. That is so unsanitary and inconsiderate of people’s dietary requirements/allergies/religious beliefs. Second of all, she did so without even washing her hands first. The burger was then unashamedly brought back to my table. Had to send it back again and I am pretty sure they kept it behind the bar and returned the same burger back to me again because when I got it back, the fries were cold. My partner got violent food poisoning from the fish and chips. The tables were dirty and sticky. We were sat very close to the table next to us and noticed that they also had to send their food back and we’re missing part of their order. Would highly recommend staying away from this place."

"Food was lovely, I had an original combo the chicken was lovely an juicy unlike the one in Loughton, the waitress was very friendly , pleasant and helpful . Only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that the rolls don't seem to be freshly baked anymore and I'm not keen on the rolls they have been swapped for. I would have preferred the ribs to have an option of sauces and a little more sauce on the ribs and a bit softer so they fall off the bone but that's my personal preference but they were still very nice would definitely visit here again if I had the opportunity"

"A group of 5 retired bankers (NatWest) frequent this venue regularly for a chat about current banking practice, when compared to the joyous times of yesteryear, pre retirement, reflecting upon how lucky we were! The usual lady server was well known to two of our crew, as they virtually live in the bar..the other three of us are some distance away so I pen this as an 'outsider '. As title, the menu is superior to our Hertfordshire McMullan 's..apparently there is some sort of choice to the local publicans..this here is excellent for this type of venue with superior portions and choice. Place usually 'buzzy '..a little quieter today..always welcoming and efficient service. We had many pints and glasses of wine, including three Guinness, 5 main courses..all delicious with plates cleaned..from memory, the special Porky burger with sides, the pie, the super Fish and chips, Spinach Risotto and the chicken skewer. £140.00 including tip..many thanks..we 'll call again..cheers"

"Key cards weren’t working during my stay but staff were prompt in getting me access to my room. Room was spotlessly clean and warm with tea and biscuits. Food at the bar was very nice, staff polite and attentive to detail. Though as a lone traveller would prefer not to sit in the family area. Breakfast choice was good, freshly made cooked breakfast very enjoyable. I had a 9:00 am meeting so I found the service quite slow."

"Absolutely fantastic food, the salt beef is one to try! A superb chef deserves all the credit, sadly we had a very poor front of house, well one in particular, forgot a drinks order, fork, a side dish, was told the bread couldn't be toasted (but it was), was told they didn't have mustard (they did), side dish came out after the main, spilt a drink which happens but no apology, was told we'd have the side taken off the bill but didn't, we ordered a bagel but got toast and generally very very slow. It's a real shame because the food was outstanding, we asked to pass on a thank you to the chef but wasn't passed on. However it's a must go to place."

"Today, my family and I visited this restaurant for the first time and we were very impressed. The place was clean and easily accessible. We were greeted promptly, seated at our table, and provided with a high chair for our little one. Our drinks arrived quickly and our food shortly after. We ordered the mixed grill with an upgrade, and the BBQ chicken stack with a side of loaded onion rings. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly, except for the steak on the mixed grill which was extremely tough. However, everything else was amazing. The toilets were also clean and tidy. I can't wait to try something new on the menu, but I will definitely order the loaded onion rings again. I have been back every day for a week now because I can't get enough. I have tried various items on the menu and they have all been on point. The kids' build your own sundae is also fantastic. 10/10 would recommend."

"Had a lovely lunch here with a friend today (9/11/23 enjoyed our whole dining experience. Friendly attentive service, comfortable seats, nice view (despite the typical British weather!! and a relaxed atmosphere. Varied menu prices. I had the sausages mash with green beans onion rings which I can strongly recommend. Treated ourselves to a Calypso (floater coffee as haven't had one in years!! Will definitely return Parking: The Swan's (free car park itself is not very big but there is other parking nearby. Just register your car when you go in."

"We really enjoyed our roast at The Beehive. The lamb was so tender and potatoes seasoned perfectly; nice and crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. The veg could have done with a bit more love, but was generally fine. I like that cauliflower cheese was included! The music was a little loud for my taste, but there was a Birthday celebration also happening, so can understand that. I would recommend to anyone wanting a proper roast cooked to a high standard, and proper portions. Price paid was £55 for two; we didn't have room for dessert!"

"Wonderful place in the heart of Windermere, just a couple of minutes walk from the mere itself! I've been a few times in the past and haven't got a bad word to say about it! It's a traditional style pub with modern facilities, a lovely fire in the corner and it's dog friendly! The staff are brilliance and naturally friendly, willing to help and have a chat The food is absolutely brilliant with something for everyone, they have lunch and mains, sides and smaller bites, loads of vegan and vegetarian options aswell! Loads of good local beer and ale but they also do teas and coffee! You would be happy with a flying visit and a pint after a walk, a simple coffee in the afternoon relaxing or a delicious evening meal! Can't beat it, I'd 100% recommend the Flying pig!"

"Great place for a family meal. Food isn’t posh, but plenty of variety, nicely done, tasty and well priced. Service deserves a particular mention as it’s attentive and knowledgeable and caring they are NOT your usual job centre rejects. They coped faultlessly with my mother in laws endless list of customisations and stipulations without skipping a beat (not easy). It is “chain pub nosh” but at the very top end of the genre really good hot crisp chips, nice grills and salad garnishes. My only slight down side is that one side (well away from the dining rooms) is a very loud and blokey“ sports bar” which I have to traverse to use the toilets and carpark is busy first world problems. Overall love this place for good family dinners in comfortable dining room and Wowsa the ice cream sundaes are to die for (maybe via cardiovascular disease but it’s a risk I’m happy to take they are huge and delicious)"

"We booked a picnic for 2 on a day when the pub was participating in the Help to Eat Out Scheme. When we came to pay, we were told that the picnics did not have 50% off. This was not mentioned when we booked over the telephone or on their website. The lady at the till was not bothered that we had been misled and couldn't really be bothered to even apologize. The picnic was nice but not worth £15 per person and we would not have booked if we had known it was not half price. Very poor customer service."
