"This could be really good but is let down by a number of small but important finishes. Let me start by saying our waiter was very good though, attentive and knowledgeable. However the restaurant sets an expectation with its menu , misses the mark and disappoints. If you are charging £12 for a G&T serve it in something more than a straight glass with a couple of cubes of ice a measly slice of lemon and accompanied by a bottle of Schweppes. If you are charging £37 for steak, it shouldn’t have a thick strip of sinew through it. The wine list just states the style and country so you have no idea the name, winery etc and it’s delivered to the table with a ‘ who’s having the red and who the white’. Maybe I’m pedantic but when I’m spending £200 on a meal I just expect a little more. So nothing terrible, I want this restaurant to deliver to the expectation and it would be great. I won’t be rushing back until I read it has though."

"It started with us witnessing a waitress providing the worst customer service ever to other customers who were explaining they had been undercharged and wanted to top up the bill(believed it or not !!! She provided no eye contact and was huffing and puffing at them to their faces! Then we move onto our experience. Just to give a bit of a lowdown, me and my husband eat out A LOT, up and down the country due to work, family and friend commitments. We hear good things about somewhere and before you know it there’ll be an excuse to go and try it : We were working close to Southall so thought we’d pop into Steakout Southall. We’ve been to other branches before and not had a problem. Long story short we ordered a mixed grill starter and 2 mains. We asked for the starter to be served first and then our mains I mean come on, how are 2 people going to eat a mixed grill and a large sharing main at the same time without the main getting cold. We end up being served JUST MAINS. A bit confused we asked where the mixed starter was, and that we asked for the starter first then the mains. The waitress holding our mains said she’s have to ask the manger if she can take our mains back and us get our starter first ?! Eventually a manager came to us and tried to say the waitress who took our order was new etc etc (from reading other reviews I think this is a generic line they use! . That was fair enough, so we were waiting on our mixed grill starter, then our Mains after ..... ROUND 2: This time they remember the mixed grill starter but have the old mains in their hands again and try to place these down with the starter. I explained that WE WANTED TO EAT OUR STARTER FIRST, THEN OUR MAINS! I also touched the mains because you could tell they were stone cold and identical to the ones they’d previously bought over. I also informed them of this and got a nervous laugh in response. They finally took the mains away and we made a start in our starters. We just started eating the starter and literally not even a few minutes later the mains came out again ! ROUND 3: The mains come out whilst we’re just making a start on the starter, so neither the main could be enjoyed not the starter because you had to pick from both to avoid the food from getting stone cold! We finally went to the till and the same ‘manager looking man’ asked how our meal was. We once again informed him of the horrendous experience, not that we needed to repeat it because we called/involved him every step of the way! He just laughed in our faces and didn’t offer anything at all in terms of an apology or anything off the bill etc. I have never ever left a bad review at any restaurant before nor asked for a discount or anything like that, but him laughing at our horrendous experience in that restaurant really peed me off, so I kindly asked if he was going to do anything about the bad experience, he once again laughed and said THERE’S NOTHING HE CAN DO. Bearing in mind it’s not about the money but the principle, even an apology would have been enough, or recognition/more interest in the whole experience BUT NO, NOTHING AT ALL, HE JUST FOUND IT FUNNY. IT’S NO WONDER THE OTHER CUSTOMERS WERE EXPERIENCING SUCH BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, WITH A MANAGER LIKE THAT YOU CAN’T EXPECT ANYTHING BETTER OF THE STAFF HE IS IN CHARGE OF TRAINING AND BEING A ROLE MODEL FOR. OVERALL A HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE, BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD IN ANY RESTAURANT, FROMHORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE, TO THEM TRYING TO PALM OFF COLD FOOD TO US. NO EMPATHY AT ALL FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS WHO JUST WANT A HOT MEAL TO EAT NOT ASKING FOR MUCH. I am very much annoyed as I’m writing this review, but want to assure everyone that whilst at the restaurant we were polite every step of the way because everyone has bad days. However when you’re laughed at out of the door because of your horrendous experience that’s just unacceptable, and I’m in shock really, I have never ever experienced this anywhere else and like I’ve previously mentioned, we eat out A LOT. This is the first review I’m ever writing, because I was taught: if you have nothing good to say, don’t say anything at all. But the experience here was the worst I’ve ever had so I was left with no choice."

"Dinner was absolutely delicious, service was very attentive. Two things influenced the evaluations for the ambience first, the background music was too loud for convenient conversation and secondly the child-friendly aspect. I didn't expect there to be children in sun loungers in the restaurant at 8:00. It's good for parents, but not so much for other diners."

"when a restaurant advertises that they make their own brot, smoke their own fish and metzger their own meat, I enter with great expectations. If a restaurant has a beautiful view, I tend to lower my expectations to the food quality, as it seems to be an unwritten rule that says, the better the view, the more moderate the eating is. wyatt jones breaks this really happy – there is nothing mediocre about their food, its quality radiated. first we had made a few of their beautiful home brot – I would recommend the walnut and cranberry, but not too much and pamper their appetit for the rest of the meal. my companion then ordered beef trees with senfmaic and kale, it was...read more"

"I booked a table for my birthday celebration at this restaurant. We had to wait 15 minutes for our water and drinks to arrive. When the 42-day aged cod finally came, it was very average and not up to the standards of places like Roka or Nobu. The service was also very poor and I had to ask for the bill three times. Despite these shortcomings, the DJ played good music throughout the evening. Overall, it was a disappointing experience."

"Good food even though on the slightly expensive side. Strange ambience didn’t get seated to a table just did that ourselves. First course and second course came out quick then took an hour to get someone to take a dessert order. Staff left empty plates on the table for over 40 mins even after the manager had to ask them 3 times before they were eventually removed. Food was decent and would revisit however not in a hurry"

"Found it very deceiving, you actually pay for sides even though it is numbered as number 4 and ask you to pick a side, there’s even an arrow to choose for the sides you want. For what you pay, it is not worth it. I have eaten steak throughout UK, never paid for aides separately amd steaks have tasted better and been cheaper as well. The service was good though, can’t fault the waiters. When added all the extras and sides, my bill came to almost £200 for 6 adults. The most i have paid for steak including Angus beef) is £25 with sides. Chips tasted like frozen ones, not made fresh. Disappointing to say the least. You also have to get your veg separately. I don’t know buys a steak just eating beef and sauce. Update: I did email you as suggested by your response on here, but never heard back."

"After reading the reviews, we had high expectations for our visit to Mad Dogs on a Thursday evening. However, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, and the waitress directed us to the bar area, where we found bench-style seating. We started with poppers and mozzarella sticks, both of which were generously portioned and delicious. For our main course, we ordered ribs, but unfortunately, they were too dry and not something we would recommend. The overall atmosphere felt a bit lackluster, and the decor was quite plain."

"Hubbard Bell is The Hoxton Holborn Hotel’s in-house restaurant, where I had the most delicious brunch last week. Few things will get me out of bed early on a weekend, except maybe coffee or good food, but on a sunny Saturday morning, I walked through Holborn to have a hot cup of coffee and some rib sticking grub I ordered the sourdough pancakes with browned sugar and pineapple with a strong cup of black filter coffee. The avocado toast with poached egg and the full english breakfast looked super tasty; the bacon was seriously thick cut. In fact, all portions were generous, which always gets a double thumbs up from me. The menu also had lots of choices for pressed juice, and going...read more"

"the ignorance of the food industry towards food allergies is frightening and the heart restaurant is an excellent example for this unpredictable ignorance. the restaurant was informed in advance about the heavy allergy of my daughter on seafood. they gave us a table next to the kitchen, because they ignore at the heart that an allergic reaction can be caused by breathing in steaming from the cooking of seafood or any food. they fry the chips in the same oil where they roast seafood and roast the meat at the same place where they fry the garnels. the alternative offered was a waiting period of 30 minutes, hoping that someone would go. they let us wait in a street where the other restaurants wore their müll and smoke the people. unnecessary to say that we have gone. when we add that the restaurant was aware that it was my 40th birthday and we were there to celebrate, the image of an absolute ignorance and inability becomes more complete. absolutely terrible experience. to avoid any event!"

"Took my family here, after hearing good things about the food chef at this place.. but more importantly the variety of food on offer so would carter for me my family.. and the place didn’t disappoint one bit.. now I can understand what the hype is actually about.. everything that was placed on our table was cooked and prepared with care.. whilst everything tasted amazing, the curry that one of my children had was amazing… !!!! When looking online for the menu I did see the harrow inn do a curry night, one day in the week,so you can sample different types of curry.. this, I have got to attend.. because if what we had today was anything to go by.. it’s got to be amazing.. My steak was mouth watering and cooked to perfection.. while the burger we had not might sort of meal) is something I will also try next time I’m here due to how tasty that look too.. I understand it’s under new management and with food like this coming out the kitchen can only assume they will be there for a while ! keep this standard and you can’t fail The staff were very welcoming and made me and my family feel very welcome.. keep up the good work, will see you agin next time I’m passing your village, for sure"

"Came here for lunch with my husband and two small children (2 under 2) and the staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. I tried a wine that I was not keen on and the sommelier went out of her way to bring me two other wines which she thought I would like after asking my taste. Food was lovely as always. Will be returning."

"First of all... Excellent service... Knowledgeable waitress who couldn 't do enough. However the food for what you got was pricey. For example. £37 for a T-Bone that came on its own! Extra for a 'cone ' of fries and a mediocre offering for your chosen sauce. Which of course is extra. Food quality is excellent..... Far too expensive though......"

"Came here on Christmas Eve for dinner and was unfortunately not impressed. We had a table reservation and expected to be seated in reasonable time, but was left waiting in the bar area for 25 30 minutes before being seated without any apology. For our mains, we ordered the Monkfish Satay and the Steak Sourdough. The monkfish was both fishy (a sign of it being unfresh) and under seasoned. The satay sauce was decent but did not add anything to the dish. The kimchi salt fries just tasted like regular fries with no flavour and made us think we had covid (got a test the day after and we were negative). The steak was tough and the sourdough was chewy. The straw fries were also too oily. For the sides, we had the Truffle Caesar salad, which was decent, and the Mac and cheese which again was tasteless. When it came to the bill we were asked to tip despite there already being a 10% service charge added. Having refused to add a tip and being told that service charge was not included, we were surprised with the 10% charge added to the card machine meaning that we ended up paying the extra 10% anyway. Unfortunately by the time we noticed this we had already paid. This review would’ve been 1 star, but for benefit of doubt, the place seemed understaffed and busy during this period and we didn’t get the main steak dishes that might have been better. Overall, not worth the money food was average at best and service left a lot to be desired."

"Booked an early 6.30pm dinner for a special occasion. Restaurant was busy and as we were early we waited in the bar. Bar staff and waiting staff were all efficient and very pleasant. However the food was inconsistent. Caesar salad, sides of spinach, mash and macaroni cheese were excellent. The problem was the steaks. Filet and rib eye steaks lacked any real flavour and were dry and over salted. I have had much better Hawksmoor steaks from Ocado's. We ordered a dessert but the waiter came back to say it had run out. On arrival I had left my jacket and scarf with the friendly cloakroom attendant and on leaving I asked a different attendant for my jacket and scarf but was only given my jacket back. I advised my scarf was missing and the attendant said there was no scarf and asked was I sure I had left a scarf. I described the scarf and the attendant went to check and did return with it but it would of been preferable if I had been asked to describe the scarf before being asked if I was sure I had left it."
