"Came here on Christmas Eve for dinner and was unfortunately not impressed. We had a table reservation and expected to be seated in reasonable time, but was left waiting in the bar area for 25 30 minutes before being seated without any apology. For our mains, we ordered the Monkfish Satay and the Steak Sourdough. The monkfish was both fishy (a sign of it being unfresh) and under seasoned. The satay sauce was decent but did not add anything to the dish. The kimchi salt fries just tasted like regular fries with no flavour and made us think we had covid (got a test the day after and we were negative). The steak was tough and the sourdough was chewy. The straw fries were also too oily. For the sides, we had the Truffle Caesar salad, which was decent, and the Mac and cheese which again was tasteless. When it came to the bill we were asked to tip despite there already being a 10% service charge added. Having refused to add a tip and being told that service charge was not included, we were surprised with the 10% charge added to the card machine meaning that we ended up paying the extra 10% anyway. Unfortunately by the time we noticed this we had already paid. This review would’ve been 1 star, but for benefit of doubt, the place seemed understaffed and busy during this period and we didn’t get the main steak dishes that might have been better. Overall, not worth the money food was average at best and service left a lot to be desired."

Great place.Much better than its high end neighbours such as Hawks-moor and the Ivy. Small menu but that typically leads to a focus on food quality which is the case here.

Nice restaurant and friendly staff. The sides were all a little flat and the steak was good but not great. May have just been an off night as we've been before and had much better food.

Delicious food! Unfortunately they got our order wrong but we’re very apologetic and brought us drinks. Deducted 10%from bill for inconvenience which was lovely and great customer service

Very delicious food, ribs to start are really good. Excellent steaks and superb sides, cocktails and wine (the pinot noir) we're brilliant. Service v friendly and efficient but the food was a little bit slow in appearing.

We had a lovely meal at The Chop House, the spare ribs were great as were the (huge) onion rings, steak and chicken. The chimichurri sauce was exceptional! 4/5 stars due to the salty fries which reminded me of salt and vinegar crisps. The lager in frozen pint glass washed it down well.

Our initial greeting could have been better. Advised our table wasn’t ready and to sit at the bar but were not asked if we would like drinks! Food was good, beautiful fillet steak cooked to perfection, chips were a little too dense and the coleslaw needs something maybe fresh lime to give it a lift. Ambiance is good, low lighting and cool tunes just not a great view at the moment Balfour Beatty blue container but understand that is temporary and unavoidable. Good attentive service once seated. Will be back!

Chop House is specialized in Steak, especially the Porterhouse and Chateaubriand, other classic brasserie dishes available, including Chicken and Steak Burger series, but many other options and pages. Large wine list and cocktail list. All served my experienced chefs, waiting staff and bearders, friendly, polite and knowledgeable. One of three venues in Edinburgh is this small but beautiful, in the famous Edinburgh arches there is two floors the first set on a mezzanine. Good toilet facilities. Everything in a great experience, price reasonable, you can spend a little or much depending on taste. Very recommended.
