Tender octopus with paprika, olive oil, and coarse salt, served on sliced potatoes. Classic Galician flavors.

"We arrived to the smell of fresh paint which was very disappointing as there was no mention of refurbishment on the website. I queried with the Manager and he advised that they were just finishing from decorating over the weekend but the smell of paint was very noticeable and I found off putting. I know they need to decorate but please not as evening service was beginning. However the food was good and service was OK for our party of 8. We had the standard Tapas Tasting Menu which was plentiful and tasty. There were not many tables occupied in the restaurant on that night so not overly buzzing but overall we all enjoyed."

"We had been to Barcelona Tapas once before. The previous visit was decent, but this time it was poor, due mostly to the service. The food was decent, but one of the dishes (croquettes) arrived when most of the other dishes had already been eaten; so late that we thought they had forgotten the croquettes. The restaurant was quiet, and when another couple came in, they sat them right next to us (that shows the waiting staff care more about their journey than anything else), and then were very chatty towards them. They weren't with us. That's a small thing, but it made us feel that we were just punters in to eat and go. Basically, there was no sense of occasion. Football should also not be on the tv. If I want football on, I'll go to the match or to a pub."

"This place honestly should not be on anyone's radar. The tapas are very mediocre and they also have minimum orders on a lot of items. Meaning that if you want to get 1 paella, tough luck, you can't. This is extremely annoying and it's made to make you spend more. Also 30pp for a tapas course is way overpriced. The good part was only the music and atmosphere. Will not return here unfortinately and neither any of our friends."

"We have lived in the area for years and I now wished we had discovered Boqueria earlier! We had the papatas bravas (so crunchy! and the tortilla (with creamy egg yolk inside for starters so simple but so perfectly executed! For mains, we ordered the chicken paella which was very generous but maybe a tad too salty and the pork, which was paired with an unusual lemon sorbet (it works! . For desserts, we had the cheesecakes (burnt and pistachio , which were a perfect way to finish off our meal. The meal was really fairly priced for the quality of the food. I have been to many tapas/Spanish restaurants in London and this one is definitely up there. We will come back!"

"A great little Spanish restaurant in Whitfield Street, Futzrovia, in the shadow of the BT tower. Very friendly and attentive staff, a wide Tapas menu and changing daily specials. A good wine list and nice modern/traditional setting. Average price a head, service included."

"A small restaurant with really good food. Most of the items on the menu are authentic Iberian meals or really good approximations when it comes to the vegitarian or vegan options. The ambiance is lovely, with lots of green plants and decorations that are inspired by products from Spain. Prices are fair, compared to other London establishments and not too extreme at the time of our visit."

"Delicious food as always with some excellent daily specials as well as the main menu. My only complaint was that when we ordered a second round of dishes because the first was so yummy there was a misunderstanding with one dish, and then even the replacement was the wrong dish (but we didn’t have the heart to tell them it was wrong again so we ate what we were given instead of what we had ordered)."

"Why have I not gone here before? My wife took me out for a birthday dinner and I chose this place as somewhere new to try. It's in a great location just opposite the Playhouse Theatre and very close to Princes Street. What a great...choice! The food was excellent and every dish was beautifully presented. I'm sure it's all good but we loved the whitebait, calamari, octopus, pork cheeks, Spanish black pudding and salad with grilled goats cheese. We had dishes between us, portions were decent and good value for such quality food. The staff were really friendly and even sang me happy birthday and brought me a wee cake. The atmosphere was great and it felt like everyone was having a happy night out. Just what we all need in these difficult times. Thanks La Sal for a great experience!! We'll be back."

"Staff were lovely could do with better communication and the place wasn't busy at all. Would you like more wine or another drink, some dessert. We're about to close the kitchen would you like anything else before we do. Would you like the bill. No bread laid out on the table either which is a staple for Mediterraneans. My friend likes the place so she will return."

"a cozy and warm little restaurant with Andalusian deco, there were 3 of us, we ordered 9 tapas, 2 desserts, 1 cheese board and 2 types of drinks. tapas: highly recommended: Bacon-packed data. there were 2 types on the menu, one is with steak, one without, the waiter told us that they are completely different, but actually the only difference is one skewered and has some steak on it. deep-fried medaillons of goat cheese with honey. the texture was amazing, also I like the combination of sweet savory. this is the reason. reserva perfect with a glass sangria. not order: pinchos de cordero al limón lamb is super dry and got carbonization. dessert: we ordered 3 items from the dessert and cheese menu, because they only have 3 items, all other items are not available. chocolate mousse truffle was better than the Spanish style crème brulée. Cheeseboard pairing with pedro ximénez was really nice. price is about £45 per person with drinks if without drinks £40 should be enough."

"This was our first visit to Connubio since we recently moved to Crouch End. We were very warmly greeted, seated, and shown the menus. The waiter a young guy with glasses was really friendly and helpful, giving us good recommendations for white wine to start us off (the Frascato). We then ordered the calamari to start; two lamb cutlets, a king prawn pasta, the sea bass as mains; and a side of mixed leaf salad. The calamari was delicious super fresh and soft and tasty. The pasta and sea bass were great too but we found the lamb cutlets to be disappointing. They were rather bland and without any depth or flavour, including the mashed potato with olive pate. On paper they sounded great but the dish didn't deliver. Our mixed salad also took so long to make an appearance (it still hadn't arrived when we were 3/4 through our mains) that we decided to cancel it We fed these two shortcomings back to the owner who genuinely seemed crestfallen about this, as it is his family run business. During the main meal, we had a wonderful red wine with the meal again recommended by the young waiter the Don Vito Prestige Salento. To round things off, we had the tiramisu. Oh. My. God. It was so good there's only one better that I've ever had. It was very light and we'll balanced between the coffee and the liqueur. Not overly sweet. Overall I'd recommend going to Connubio da Fabio. It has a lovely and classy vibe, friendly staff (although the female waitress tonight really just couldn't care less), and overall really great food. Just a shame about the bland lamb and the salad which had to be cancelled but everything else was great. The owner was kind enough to offer us a gesture of goodwill for our feedback. I will definitely come back again to try more of their food and wine!"

"I was here recently with my daughter who had never been brave. we both enjoyed everything we ordered. we had three tapas dishes to share for our main course the tortilla, the black bell and the deep fried fish selection that were served separately, but this was no problem, as it allowed us to really taste the different aromes. the portions were not huge, that is true, but we did not want to have a big heavy meal anyway, so we were perfectly satisfied with the portions sizes, especially since this has a little space for both of us to have dessert; my daughter wanted to taste the churros and I had the baskenkäsekuchen with a berry-comonote on the side. that were also delicious and after the cheesecake I was quite sure full! we had only one crippled with our food, so it was not expensive for what was very good eating, according to my opinion. And we also had a nice waiter, raoul, who also deserves a special mention for his pleasant wise and attentiveness. I also liked the decor inside and the casual mood. this was our first meal since the kovid pandemie started and our first meal in england since we moved here in juli 2020, so it was a special evening for us in many respects. thanks!"

"we hadn't read any reviews before we got in. first impressions were mixed, it looks dated, but that didn't put us down. the service was a quiet type of elite. the menu was typical tapas but basic. eating would have been good, but. the smell of oil was like a fat spoon. the patatas bravas were stinking brat potatoes. prawns had burned deep coolers and Poop-Shoos. the dead bread was good. this place could be much better, I would not go back or recommend."

"We went on a Saturday night but had pre booked. It was busy but not overly. It took 5 minutes to be acknowledged, a further 5 to be seated, 20 minutes for our order to be taken and roughly 45-50 minutes for us to receive (some) of our order. Given we had a 2 year old with us was a bit frustrating as by the time the food came, there was no interest in eating. We were looking for where the food was cooked and more than disappointed with it being microwaves in the centre of the restaurant. Staff in “kitchen” were on their phones and unbothered about getting orders out. We didn’t even receive some of our order, which hadn’t even been taken off the bill. The food was cold, staff didn’t care for our custom and food “cooked” in a microwave-oven. Not worth the £6-£10 for each dish"

"Took my father here for fathers day. Some of the dishes were really nice and a couple were lacking flavour. The service was incredibly terrible. It soured the whole experience. I had to wave the waitress over to take our order when I saw that a couple that arrived after us were ordering. The waitress was not friendly at all and just walked off after i finished ordering so I wasnt even sure if she had ordered everything I asked for. The tortilla that we ordered hadnt arrived by the time we finished everything else. We waited for someone to take the empty plates so we could enquire about where the torilla was. No one came. I had to wave a waitress over to ask about how long it would take. She said she would check and left the empty plates on our table. She didnt come back and avoided my eye when she was in view. I waved another waitress over and she also didnt take the empty plates and said she would check on our missing dish but she did not come back either. Finally it came but there was no apology for the wait. The tortilla was stodgy...too much potato and too thick...it definitely wasnt worth the wait. I then had to wave my arm in the air to get the attention of someone to get the bill and also wave someone over, after waiting a bit, to take our money. No one was helpful or attentive the whole time we were there and I was gutted as it was supposed to be a treat for my dad. The beetroot salad wasnt great. Grapefruit and bland beetroot doesnt really go together. The crab and avocado was yummy, and the rosemary manchego was good. Although the food was good, I didnt rate the service or atmosphere."

"Ordered olives to start with, £4 for only 7 olives which were not very nice, came out of a very large jar. Mentioned to waiting staff who said they were Spanish olives. Wouldn’t order them again. My friend and I had the Canarian chicken skewers which were very nice but the accompanying potatoes were soft and soggy. Waiting staff were friendly and accommodating. One male member of staff who was either behind the bar or just walking around the restaurant area was wearing scruffy jeans with a large rip in the back and white trainers that were absolutely filthy. Not sure what position he held but he looked totally unprofessional. When we received the bill there was a 12.5% service charge added which we felt we should have been told about on asking for the bill. We did ask for this to be removed and we left a cash tip."

"Black pudding croquettes were round filled balls. Fish stew was bland as if it had been cooked with no seasoning and lamb chops were average. We have been to various Spanish restaurants and this one was probably not the best however the staff were lovely and vey attentive."

"What a shame a good location and an excellent menu BUT. Several items from the menu were 'not available ' despite it being prime time on a Saturday evening. The same applied to the wine list. The food itself was very good when it was eventually received: several members of the staff seemed overwhelmed and poorly trained."

"This charming family-run restaurant is a place I frequently visit for lunch or dinner, and the service is consistently excellent. I highly recommend the cappuccino, which is beautifully topped with a delicious chocolate design. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, although I would love to see a few more vegetarian options. If you find yourself in Stoke Newington and are looking for a relaxing atmosphere paired with delightful Spanish cuisine, this spot comes highly recommended. The happy hour also looks promising!"

"these are dotted around london and I was always thrilled by the facility. it looks like a deli with all the hanging jamon, then there is the tapas bar and also a casual sitting restaurant vibe. behind the bar, you will see the display of various Spanish meats and be ready to be cut, plated and served. With a friend in the city and a group of us want to entertain him, nothing completely fits like a tapas sharing experience. equipped with my taste card we drove to holborn for our reserved table. the Holborn site is large, open and airy. high ceiling, large windows above the front and beautifully spaced tables/sele. we sat in a corner that was good, as I knew, that we would probably get a little rainy. if you haven't seen a friend for a long time, of course, the wee, the remembrances are reappearing and the sweat burst. Having ordered a white and red wine from a Spanish wine list that ranged from aragon to toro, we studied the tapas menu for our choices. we went for every food group, with classy like pimento pardon and kartoffel bravas, to some lush gambas pil pil (king prawns in olive oil with garlic and chili). grilled chestnut mushrooms with Spanish blue cheese and garbanzo con chorizo (chorizo, kichererbsen, Piquillo pepper with pimento). a selection of Spanish cheeses and estofado de cerdo (a basque stew of slowly boiled pork, with carrots and carrots). it was a good cross-section of the food that was very tasty. it was enough for us four. I would be interested in a future visit, as there is nothing like Spanish meat. / mas q menos is a really relaxing place, ideal for getting friends. the service was nice, our waiter spoke about Spanish, recommended some dishes and led us through the wine list. we will definitely visit again and with off-food with tastecard, it makes the experience even sweeter."
