"This is a great pub just outside Mold. Top place to sit outside and enjoy a few drinks in the sun. Equally as good for a family gathering or food with friends. The food is pretty good. The smoked salmon tortellini was really fresh and light. The ham and cheese croquettes, a bit heavy on the ham and low on the cheese, were slightly large for a croquette but still tasted fine. The chicken, ham and leek pie was delicious. Served with a buttery mash, greens, a carrot and a nice white wine and tarragon sauce. The service was really helpful and friendly. Worth a visit!"

"We arrived assuming we had entered through the wrong door as there was no one about to greet us. We wondered around looking for someone to serve us only to be told to sit down while someone was found. We were then escorted to our filthy table (chair also covered in crumbs) despite many other tables available we were taken to the unclean one not a good start. Two pots of tea and cups were brought to us without milk. By the time we had found someone to get us some milk the tea wasn't very hot and thoroughly stewed. When the afternoon tea arrived we were surprised it was for both of us very small portion for two people considering the price. No one came over to ask us if we were happy or needed anything. I looked around for someone to serve us some fresh tea. Again, no milk was brought with the teapots. The servers were pleasant but no where to be seen not attentive at all. Floor around table, the table itself and the general feel was dirty. Although we enjoyed our catch up, I felt it wasn't particularly special for my friend who I had brought here as a surprise birthday treat. It was disappointing to say the least."

"I wasn't sure if I booked the wheelhouse or not. I can only say that I am glad that I did it on Saturday evening as a party of 3 and the restaurant was completely booked and the people on the door locked away. eating was tasty and healthy and the atmosphere was friendly (so friendly that those who were turned away were suggestions of alternating, competing, venues to visit). had a common starter, and then main courses and desserts. came very satisfied away and will definitely look back when in the city."

"I had never been to this restaurant before but the elegant ambiance suggested a special dining experience. I was not disappointed. The beetroot carpaccio was delicious and healthy. For my main course, I had the roasted hake served on a mussel chowder with seasonal greens and new potatoes. The fish was perfectly cooked with crispy skin and tender flesh. The chowder was delicious and the green vegetables had a nice al-dente bite. Everything was served at the right temperature, which is something that can make or break a meal. I give the chefs and waitstaff a perfect 10/10 for getting everything just right. My friends and I will definitely be returning."

"he waited for about ten minutes at the door, showed us a table and gave us no food or drinks menus, so we had to go and ask us. no one came or took our order, so then they had to ask for order. we asked three different employees to hunt our drinks as they lasted so long and until this point we had waited 50 minutes. none of the employees we asked came back the drinks, so we had to ask ourselves, and instead of getting our drinks, the bar staff served foot in the customers. when we finally got our drinks, the order was not even correct, so it had to waste more time to sort it out. a table of 7 came in and sat next to us after we had already been there 30mins, but they got their drinks and eat before us, as from any reason the staff took their order first. some tables next to us had the same terrible experience with waiting time and bad organization. the place is a shame lip, no organization, management bad and terrible service. do not recommend anyone and will not return."

"Took mother for lunch today. I have used your restaurant on and off for many years and always enjoyed it. Today though was a little different. The food was ok, it has been better in the past and the chips I had left quite a lot to be desired and I felt they had been hanging around a bit before they were deposited onto my plate. The steak was good, no issue there but the rest of the food just average. Our waitress was either run off her feet or having a bad day. A smile and a few thank yous are always nice to get sadly she seemed to be out of both. I didn’t notice until my wife pointed it out when we got home, only 3 scores on the doors. What is that all about. I would have expected at least 4 or perhaps the full 5 for the type of business you seem to portray in decor and price. A score of 3 is something I would expect to see in some low grade kebab house! What has happened to the Sally Puss?"

"I absolutely loved this place! We stayed at the hotel above the pub with some friends, and every night we enjoyed dinner and a pint here. The service was warm and helpful each evening. The food was excellent traditional English fare, and we had no complaints at all. Since we had children with us, we were concerned there might not be many options beyond the usual chips and chicken, but we were pleasantly surprised. The Richard Onslow offers children's portions for everything on the menu, which was my favorite aspect of the place. The atmosphere was also incredibly fun and cozy."

"We ordered a garl8c bread starter to share, with two min courses to follow. The main courses arrived fairly quick, with the starter course following! We agreed to rake them both together, however, the garlic bread was undercooked, so we asked for it to be reheated. We did received a replacement 15 or so minutes later, but to be honest, it was only slightly better than the first one. We ate what we could, bit left the majority of it, which was just a slippy mess. The main courses were excellent however, steaming hot, and full of prawns. It salvaged the experience fprnus."

"Though it's not a new establishment, this place remains one of my favorites. After an unsatisfactory dinner at Exmouth Market, we decided that a little ice cream could lift our spirits, and if you find yourself in Islington, there's really only one option: Udderlicious. As mentioned on their website, all of their ice creams and sorbets are made in-house, using organic milk sourced from British farms. They have a "flavor of the month," which is worth trying, or you can opt for a tasting session like the boozy bunch did. Personally, I tend to feel a bit awkward when sampling multiple flavors, perhaps because I'm always acutely aware of the small business overhead. That said, it certainly hasn't deterred others. Cheers to that!"

"ONCE AGAIN ! a pub with no Beer absolutely no Ale whatsoever SERIOUSLY, this is a massive pub and owned by Youngs brewery and everyone there is very upset, however this is a regular occurrence in this pub, yet it has around 8 Ale pumps. It Can’t be a couple of weeks since it last time it was totally without beer, what’s the point in driving to a Pub it’s a half hour round trip for me, to have a pint of beer when it’s proven so unreliable people just go to the multiple pubs in the area that employ managers capable of keeping at least one beer on tap ! I approached a person regarding this with a major attitude problem, sitting at a desk, to ask why this keeps happening says he one of the managers but flatly refuses to give me his name !!! Seriously, no wonder the place is so utterly disorganised. Rather than be accommodating and apologetic for the inconvenience (having driven for 15 minutes to get there for a nice pint chose to tell me I was lying. It turns out that he is the deputy manager behind Tom not on property. I felt this behaviour very strange so I took my camera phone and said ok, took a picture and said I will post it… he stood up and started to threaten me if I was to post it he would….!!!! I left the property with a view to raising this with the Police. They have spent a fortune on this property under the control of a French manager who did an amazing job in improving the property something of a disaster that through the the non existence of any management capable of running it properly will end up a waste of a lot of money."

"Can't thank this establishment and staff enough. They opened up on a Monday, when their usually shut, to hold a wake for a very dear friend of us all. We were a lot more than they expected, and we all stayed a lot longer, too. They kept the food coming, which they also donated, as he was a long-term customer, what wonderful wonderful people. Thank you so much. Xx"

"Went for a drive Father's day and ended up having a meal here, we rang and luckily got a table for 7pm. On entry to the Celtic Arms it was a high walled gated area with absolutely beautiful gardens which went on for some considerable area, it is a golf club as well and a beautiful golf course with golf buggies opposite the restaurant. Opposite the golf buggies their is a play area that as I recall was fenced off but attached to the restaurant as its also a bar. On arrival to the resteraunt the manager was extremely warm and welcoming and escorted us to a table just outside of the restaurant. During the time we where in the Celtic Arms I observed the waitress in the restaurant constantly clean and spraying the tables which was absolutely so reassuring since the last covid people have relaxed a bit to much. A young lady who was equally as welcoming came and as us for our order, it was a set three course meal at £23.99 which we felt was really reasonable for such a lovely place. Halfway through our time in the Celtic Arms the young lady went home from her shift that had intially taken our order and I pressume we then passed to another waitress. I felt we where out of the eye of the bar but not in the restaurant so got a little forgotten about, although once we called a member of staff to remove our plates these where remove immediately. The starters where delicious with plenty of prawns on the prawn cocktail and the pate had an amazing homemade chutney. The mains where lamb and beef with the whole meal being cooked to perfection and hot with vegetables cooked just right. A lovely touch we felt was the lady out of the restaurant came and asked us if everything was to our liking and was there anything of the meal we would like a little extra off, I dare say you won't get a ton of potatoes or veg but the gesture was very touching and to be honest the meal size was ample. The desert white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake we shared and both agreed it was delicious, and we then shared a cheeseboard which I had got on the three course set menu. The delicious chutney again appeared with varies cheeses, crackers and grapes. Our compliments where left with the manager and the staff with our thanks for serving and delivering multiple resteraunts can not quite achieve. Well done Celtic arms for your polite, professional manner and serving a delicious good quality meal which was ample portioned, reasonably priced in an excellent environment. Would definitely recommend this place it's beautiful and wins hands down on the last 20 plus places we have been over the last few months. We will most definitely be going back again."

"my wife and I visited the day after the Valentine's Day on Friday night. the cabaret show with a steak dinner booked the show was fantastic. all the facts were great and entertaining. only really seen cabaret on vacation and that felt like a step up from what I was used to. my wife was not in the cabaret before and she enjoyed it. the host was also really funny eating was great. I wanted to do my steak well. I would say it was good somewhere between medium and medium. if you complain that you have a problem with me. Just make sure it's for the business as some people can really be cumbersome. it was fantastic to mention that the drinks were great along with the entire service. emma, one of the waiters gave mainly great service and seemed very pleasant to visit again at a point. I couldn't fail."

"I have been to many vintage inns all across the country from Newcastle down to Stevenage and never had a problem. I usually enjoy the food and the service which is why I have returned time and again. I probably have eaten in this one about 10 times over the last year. This time upon reaching the restaurant I could not book online. The app kept telling me to retry so we chose to sit in the bar. This wasn 't a problem. I went to order the food and usually with the kids meal I swap the veg sticks for peas as my son doesn 't like the veg sticks. I feel its a waste of food to take the veg sticks that end up in the bin. Before I even finished my sentence about that the server, Rachel/Rachael(dark straight hair, short, wearing a baggy shirt), butted in and said if you want anything extra you have to pay for it . I said OK, I will leave it and just get the veg sticks as I didn 't fancy paying whatever they charge for a little pot of peas that may or may not be eaten. However, I thought it was a rude way to broach this. When I was charged it seemed like more than I estimated it to be so I requested an itemised receipt. I saw that the free drink received with the kids meal was charged so I went to query this. I was told that the kids meal is a deal and as I used a £10 off coupon it couldn 't be used in conjunction with another deal. I wasn 't aware the kids meal was a deal, but I was fine with it and went to return to my table. I then heard Rachel laughing with her colleague as soon as I turned by back and walked away. Clearly with regards to this. Due to this I asked to cancel my meal and told her why. I wasn 't bothered about the deal, it was being laughed at when I am spending my money there. She immediately screwed up her face and said I wasn 't actually. Why would I? Very defensive and immediately looked guilty. I said I don 't know. Because you 're sad? She said well you 're just rude I said laughing at a customer is rude thanks and I have visited here many times. I will not be returning she said be my guest I said well ... no ... I won 't be your guest... Will I?I wont be coming back She said no be my guest and dont come back . I said that still makes no sense I laughed to myself and said I 'm rude when you laughed at me she said you 're rude too I said so you admit you were rude thankyou . Upon leaving I realised she had charged me instead of refunding me. She charged me £90.35. This means £127.50 was taken from my account needing to be returned. I have plenty of funds so its not a problem, but had it been a problem, it takes 5 days to clear back in. I had to then go back and get that refunded on top of my original order, which took a while due to how their computer system works. The man who helped me with this was very helpful and I felt bad for him having to sort out her mistake. So I thank him for his help. Due to the bad service from this person, Rachel, and the complete mess she made with the refund, i wont be returning. In fact, I don 't think I will go to any vintage inns anymore."

"Had dinner with friends from Ulva and it was absolutely fantastic. The beef stew was amazing. The restaurant has a big car park with plenty of parking spaces. The meal type was dinner and the price per person ranged from £40-50. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a rating of 5. Highly recommended dishes include the Venison Stew. Additionally, there are free parking options available."

"Yesterday's experience at this long-standing establishment was a complete disappointment. The service and quality of cooking have noticeably declined from what they used to be. We chose to sit in the "garden" at the back, but our meal was disrupted by the noisy game of handball from neighboring office workers. After waiting 15 minutes for menus, I had to go inside to order at the till because our waitress was preoccupied chatting outside. The manager scolded me for not placing our order at the table. We ordered the Alpine Rosti, a house specialty, and two lattes. The lattes were served in tall sundae glasses and tasted like warm skimmed milk with a lack of coffee flavor. I asked for an extra shot of coffee, but I was charged 40p for it. After a 20-minute wait, I had to inquire about our Rosti, which finally arrived 25 minutes after ordering. Unfortunately, the dish was bland, not crispy, and lacked the gruyere cheese mentioned on the menu. Despite the disappointing meal, I reluctantly paid the overpriced bill. The coffee was weak, and the cakes and pastries looked unappealing. It seems that the management may have changed, leading to a decline in staff manners and cooking quality. We will not be returning to this establishment, as there are better cafes in Chester at a more reasonable price."

"Dreadful Sunday Roast beef is all well done (no pink option). Roast Pork, but no crackling with it, so had to settle for Turkey and trimmings which was all lukewarm and came with vegetables that had been boiled within an inch of their life. Complained but seemed to fall on deaf ears. A free coffee at least should have been in order. Overall, more akin to a hospital dinner than a nice Sunday roast. Won’t be back"

"the only thing that is vegan at this place is that the ingredients are not animal based. Maybe this business started well, but it's just a business now. we had three courses. no joy in any of the dishes, apart from perhaps the Korean fish tacos. curry made by someone who either loves a curry on the basis of nothing but the taste of nelken, or more likely is not really in curry. Gnocchi pieces were quite well made, but sauce completely tasteless. so called sourdig pizza not sourded (to say faire waitress, she didn't know whether it was sourdough or not. and toppings revolting only in gunk like something that a child puts together after a bad day in the kitchen. simply strange and expensive and not what vegan eats (revitalization, enlightenment, fullness and gratitude). would never go back. the dog was welcomed, but maybe two stars are just in order. updated by previous review on 2022-03-14"

"I can see that the more we come, the more rudness exists there and treated like a rubish. Water from the tap in a plastic bottle, as the bottle was opened when I received it. Coca cola served from the 500 ml plastic pet put in a £250 ml glass. £2.40; the other half was kept for another customer who wish as well to drink coca cola, or if you want it , you could have it for another £2.40: The drinks are warm, not kept on the fridge; if you want cold, you ask for the ice, which changes the taste of a juice considerable. So we refused the cola but we should pay for it! Some dishes, the mains, are not written on the menu, so you don't know the price, and the owner charges you how much she wants in that day. Invoices written by hand"

"We visited for a birthday celebration, and the experience was fantastic. The seafood linguine was simply the best I've ever tasted. The waitstaff were very attentive and made me feel truly special when they learned it was my birthday. The atmosphere was delightful, providing a cozy vibe with a roaring fire. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as 5 out of 5."
