"We had a lovely table overlooking the 'garden '. The service was not as good as it could be. One of the guests had lipstick on their water glass. Plates were being cleared away before two of the guests had finished eating this happened 3 times, after one of our guests mentioned it. We all felt the selection of starters and desserts were poorly displayed and there was a lack of choice. The charcuterie board and pate had been out for a while and had started to turn up at the edges. Previously dining before the pandemic there was more selection of both starters and desserts. We had a bottle of champagne and was very surprised by how it was served the senior waiter (in a suit didn 't pour into a tilted glass to avoid the overflow of bubbles but into the glass left on the table! As a hotel that has spent £M 's on refurbishment, it was very disappointing to see the external entrance have two large planters of dead plants in them! We choose to have coffee outside and would of like to have had it on the terrace off the Mulberry restaurant to be told that we had to have it outside at the front of the building where there is a wooden seating area this is just off the car park!. Not really a tranquil place with cars driving past continually. The terrace off the Mulberry Restaurant is a wasted area as this would be perfect for coffee. Also looking out of the window planters also with dead shrubs and plants in them! Our overall experience not what we were expecting from a 4* establishment we all left very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend to friends and family. It is a beautiful hotel with wonderful surroundings; however all this seems to be for weddings events and not enough focus put on the diners in the restaurant."

A family lunch party for some 25 people aged from 5 to 80 last Saturday went very well. Three tables in the Drawing Room worked well for us. Food, service etc were well received by our guests. With sunny weather, the children were able to run around outside after lunch. The bedrooms for those who stayed over were excellent,

I chose the Mulberry Restaurant at the Oatlands Park Hotel to celebrate my birthday with a Champagne Afternoon Tea. The tea was delicious, plentiful and very well priced. The restaurant is elegant, spacious and comfortable. We loved the china and matching tea pots. The staff were very friendly, and our waitress Ruth was very helpful and attentive. A most enjoyable afternoon. Will definitely go again.

The service at this restaurant was outstanding; from the Maître d' to all the wait staff, everyone was delightful and attentive. They were able to accommodate us even though we didn't have a reservation. The price for afternoon tea in such a gorgeous setting was very reasonable. The only thing I wish they still had was the option for unlimited champagne. Despite that, we definitely plan on returning.

We attended the Mulberry Restaurant for my daughter's 21st birthday. We were greeted with a warm welcome and were seated on a spacious table. The service from then on just got better. Our waiter was patient and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The tea was good quality as was the food. We really enjoyed the fresh scones. The surroundings are picturesque. Perfect afternoon tea. We will return. View menu

Excellent afternoon tea to rival the best in London. They definitely capitalise on the setting as their backdrop. Good selection of teas but as they were busy the refills and replenishments were far too slow. Good selection of sandwiches, scones were a huge let down they do need a better pastry chef and only one choice of jam. Service and tableware was lovely. Do pay it a visit one of the better ones I have visited.

We have been regulars here for the Sunday Brunch over many years, but over recent months things have got very poor indeed: The choice of food, especially Starters and Desserts has got more and more limited, whilst the price has gone up. Our latest visit was on Fathers Day and sadly it may well be our last. They had squeezed in a lot of extra tables so it was rather overcrowded and uncomfortable Quantity of food did not seem to have increased to allow for the many extra guests so some things ran out.

Had many delicious afternoon teas in the past. However, today was very disappointing. The top layer of 'pastries and patisserie ' were a selection of tray bakes which could have come from the local supermarket and roughly cut up. There was absolutely nothing special about them and they didn 't taste very nice. The sandwiches were untidy, and just adequate. Oatlands this is nowhere near your usual standard! The tea did not in any way resemble the picture on the tea menu. I even looked back at a picture of a tea taken in March and there is no comparison. Such a shame View menu

Excellent! The dining room is stunning, with a stylish, smart, and sophisticated atmosphere. The large windows offer a lovely view of the beautiful parkland, with a multitude of birds outside. The dining experience is comfortable and welcoming, with kind and knowledgeable staff. The menu is delightful, with delicious food and well-served wines. The staff are highly attentive to hospitality, ensuring a flawless experience for guests. The restaurant manager is particularly outstanding, providing excellent company and expertise. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the restaurant.

I had never been to this restaurant before but the elegant ambiance suggested a special dining experience. I was not disappointed. The beetroot carpaccio was delicious and healthy. For my main course, I had the roasted hake served on a mussel chowder with seasonal greens and new potatoes. The fish was perfectly cooked with crispy skin and tender flesh. The chowder was delicious and the green vegetables had a nice al-dente bite. Everything was served at the right temperature, which is something that can make or break a meal. I give the chefs and waitstaff a perfect 10/10 for getting everything just right. My friends and I will definitely be returning.

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
