"What a place! I was here with a friend who never tried Japanese food, so I investigated a bit and Bentoya seemed the best. And I was right. The place itself is an island of calm in bustling Edinburgh; the decor makes you really feel like you are in Japan, so tranquil. Very clean. The menu offer a wide choice of typical dishes: sushi, sashimi, wagyu, takoyaki, goma, ramen, poke, donburi... Sake e other liquors. We had a selection of dishes, and they were all outstanding. The fish was fresh and melt-in-the-mouth, wagyu outstanding, rice fragrant, vegetables crunchy and flavoursome... You just can't fault this place. I particularly loved aubergine goma, a not very easy dish to find in Scotland. I was very pleased. Sushi tasty and well presented, as the sashimi. Reasonable prices too: 7 dishes, sake, and sochu all came at about 57 pounds each. Please check it out. Friendly staff and spotless toilets."

"a cheap Japanese restaurant with at least one veggie option under each of its subheadings. the starters include options such as mistsuppe, seeweedsalat, edamame and gyozas, and sushi is from the avocado/gurke/ spicy tofu sorte. they also offer a few veg noodles and rice dishes. if they are vegan, as a different evaluation indicated, make sure that they ask what they do not order contains ei because it on its menu that veggie options can contain ei! updated by the previous review on 2021-05-11"

"This restaurant is a hidden gem. The service was excellent as we were attended to by the same gentleman throughout our meal. He was softly spoken and not intrusive, yet very attentive to our needs. He promptly refilled our drinks and offered us additional cutlery without us having to ask. The food exceeded our initial expectations, especially considering the reasonable prices of £8-15 for a main course."

"I lived in london in the late 80s and there were only 2 sushi bars in the city, one in the Mitsukoshi business and the other, a small but expensive in covent gardens. the brides have eaten nothing that looked like it might have been alive in these days! there were rarely any boobs in each restaurant, but how the dings have changed. at my first night in london in many years I was happy to find her me sushi a short walk from my hotel. I was dressed by the various poke dishes on the menu, but her sashimi looked even better and spent a few weeks in hawaii, I decided for the sashimi. it was totally keto friendly and delicious! I was suspicious because it was packed and was ready to go, but I ate. the maguro and lieb (salmon) was first quality and a well dimensioned part. there was only enough salat with seaweed and soy/caster/adventure to make a perfect and efficient evening meal. I will return during my 10-day stay. the personal was friendly and attentive. I spent as much as $300 per head at the likes of Kabuto-edomae sushi in las vegas and orlando, you me sushi was a really pleasant experience, cost effective and would also be a fantastic take away. but wait. there is more! her miso soup was first class!"

" fresh fish). However, the last couple of times we ordered, the quality had decreased significantly. The salmon sashimi was not fresh and the rice in the sushi rolls was mushy. The delivery was also late. Overall, we were disappointed with the decline in quality and will be looking for a new sushi restaurant for our office lunches."
" delicious sushi). The delivery was on time and the food was fresh and tasty. However, when we ordered again for another lunch, the quality had clearly dropped. The sushi was not as fresh and the portions were smaller. It was disappointing to see such a decline in quality. I hope they can improve so that we can enjoy their delicious sushi again."
" food) at a very reasonable price. The sushi was delicious and fresh, and the delivery was prompt. However, on a second order, the quality had decreased significantly. The sushi was not as fresh and the portions were smaller. The delivery also took much longer than expected, which was disappointing. Overall, I would say that You Me Sushi is hit or miss - it's great when it's good, but not so great when it's not."

"The sushi at this restaurant was excellent and incredibly filling. I have tried sushi in many places, but this was the first time I have seen sushi so loaded with meat and fillings! The robata grill was also fantastic, with the Mongolian lamb chops being flavorful and perfectly cooked. The service was top-notch as well, receiving a perfect 10/10 rating. The value for money was outstanding, especially considering the central London location. The only downside was that the restaurant is a bit small, so larger groups may feel a bit cramped. Overall, I would give this restaurant a perfect 10/10 rating."

"Cool concept ruined by bad staff and lack of cleanliness. Key points: Ordering from the table using a touchscreen is great, however the table wasn 't clean, especially the touchscreen mouse area hasn 't been cleaned in a while. We like to look up the menu before going places, but the actual menu was less than half of what 's shown online. The waitress was rude when a wrong item that we didn 't order was brought to the table, and dropped off the bill we didn 't ask for yet, while we were still waiting for dessert. Not even a would you like anything else , just slapped it on the table in front of us. In a place this fancy, where you leave triple digits of money for 2 people, and still leave hungry, you 'd think they would at least keep the toilets clean and not be completely out of toilet paper in the middle of the day on Saturday. Was meant to be a special anniversary outing for us, instead it was a waste of time and money. Ended up leaving hungry and going to wagamama, where the service was actually stellar and proper cleanliness standards maintained, all for much less money and pretence."

"I had the most amazing dinner date with my husband here. While it was a little cramped and super unusual to sit so close to other people (after covid restrictions), the service and the food was worth it. We had to wait for a bout 15 minutes before we were seated, as it was very busy, but it was a pleasant evening for a little stroll so we had no problem with that. Sushi tasted great and the Ramen was perfect. My husband loved his marmite chicken and mochi. We both agreed that this place deserves a 5 star. The team working there is wonderful, very cheerful and polite, despite the super busy environment. Definitely recommend visiting, make sure to book a table in advance, as even on a working day it's packed."

"The food was decent and the ambiance was entertaining, but the service was extremely chaotic. We were seated right next to another couple, with very little privacy. The service initially started off promptly with our food arriving within 5 minutes of ordering. However, towards the end of our meal, we waited half an hour for a simple dish. When we inquired about the delay, we were given the wrong bill with items we didn't order. Despite explaining that we were still waiting for our meal and dessert, we were unable to order dessert as the tablet malfunctioned. Overall, we had high hopes for this restaurant and enjoyed the food, but were disappointed by the chaotic service and table placement."

"There aren't plenty of suitable options for vegans so hopefully you’re not too hungry as quantities are quite small. We ordered a few tapas (bang bang cauliflower, vegan red dragon roll, chunky chips) and some cocktails. It's a nice place for a date for example or if you're more thirsty than hungry, although it won't be cheap. Food was okay but not amazing, it's not the type of place I would go regularly if I have other options nearby."

"I was in the mood for some budget-friendly sushi and the reviews for this restaurant seemed promising, so I decided to give it a try. I was also intrigued by the idea of trying their rice burgers. However, I was disappointed to find out that they didn't offer rice burgers on their menu."

"If you want a Japanese delivery with the best classic dishes in Edinburgh, I would say this is the best. I have checked the other Japanese delivery and the menu is not as extensive as this one. I ordered quite a huge selection of food...to have a proper taste of their food. The fish was fresh I have to say. The sushi and the temaki rice are great as well but they tend to put too much rice so the whole thing becomes like a big clump with too much rice. I know the bigger portion the bigger the value but with Japanese sushi and temaki it needs to be moderately supplied to ensure it does not destroy the fresh fish flavour. The fried chicken chicken karaage seems to be a bit on a dry side but they supplied plenty of the chicken for the portion. The agedashi tofu has a harder tofu than I thought but good broth. The soft shell crab tempura was almost not worth it with just 2 or 3 pieces of crab so best to avoid. The only highlight I thought was definitely the Aubergine with Miso Sauce. The aubergine was properly roasted to provide intense flavour and the thick miso sauce really complemented the aubergine. The dishes were clearly prepared with a thought of delivery quick and roughly prepared to mimic Japanese food. I have to say there is definitely room for improvement and they really need to improve on the quality of the food."

"We booked Picture to celebrate my friend and my birthday with 15 of my other friends. We had the Chef 5 courses menu. It was a nice ambience for group dinner not too noisy where you cant hear each other but not too quiet where you dont dare to talk. The dishes are all amazing and they have a wonderful selection of wines. It was most of my friends’ first time visiting the restaurant and they all adore the food!! Definitely worth the visit, definitely perfect for nice group dinner if you dont want a crazy noisy environment. Highly recommended."

"I highly recommend 201 Asian Kitchen for its outstanding food and service. The owners are welcoming and attentive, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. I particularly enjoy the laksa and sushi, and I always make sure to save some space for dessert. It's truly a gem in the neighborhood!"
