Bentoya - Menu

Really tasty food. Staff were great and guiding a sushi novice. We ordered lots of the small plates so we got to try lots of different things, but the menu is huge. Can't wait to go back and try more! All the food came out super quickly too

We came here whilst visiting Edinburgh, I wish it was more local to home! It was the first time my partner was trying proper Japanese food so we went all out. I cannot remember the names of ever dish however see attached photos. Everything was amazing!! 100% recommended.

Stumbled across Bentoya in Edinburgh and the food was delicious! The sushi and tempura which was freshly made in view from our table was lovely and the staff couldn’t do enough to make our visit a memorable one. We would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a healthy stop gap! View menu

Best Sushi in Edinburgh and we REALLY liked it The sushi maki rolls were fresh, with a great combination of flavors. We loved the tuna and avocado rol and the Dinamite roll. Staff was quick to serve and the food arrived even quicker. I felt like being in a sushi restaurant in Tokyo!

We popped in for a late dinner after a busy night at the Fringe. 3 of us had Bento boxes, which were tasty and filling, with a nice variety of dishes included. And the ramen looked pretty good too. We'll be back! Much nicer than the (much larger, mostly chain) restaurants I've tried on the Lothian Road! Cosy and good service and food prepared and presented with care.

Delicious food and excellent service. We chose this as we were on the way. Such a good decision. It doesn’t look much from the outside but inside is clean and modern.It was amazing. The food so fresh and tasty. The tempura prawns were the best I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had a few! The services efficient and helpful. The place was busy but you didn’t feel crammed in. The best food we had in Edinburgh! The restaurant itself has a lovely interior which feels very authentic. When we arrived it was very busy and we didn’t have a booking, but the lady accommodated for us and arranged a table. We had tuna tataki and spring rolls for starter, followed by special udon noodles and pork ramen , accompanied by some sake! It was all very flavoursome, the best japanese food we’ve had. Great value for money!

The food was good but we felt very rushed.I know they were busy but we were only there for 1 hour. the girls kept trying to take our plates away even though we were still eating and there was food in the dishes. they tried a few times. I think they should let people relax and enjoy their meal. we spent about £80 for 4 with only 1 alcoholic drink and would expect to have been given more time to enjoy the night. I would not go again because of the rush to get us out.

What a place! I was here with a friend who never tried Japanese food, so I investigated a bit and Bentoya seemed the best. And I was right. The place itself is an island of calm in bustling Edinburgh; the decor makes you really feel like you are in Japan, so tranquil. Very clean. The menu offer a wide choice of typical dishes: sushi, sashimi, wagyu, takoyaki, goma, ramen, poke, donburi... Sake e other liquors. We had a selection of dishes, and they were all outstanding. The fish was fresh and melt-in-the-mouth, wagyu outstanding, rice fragrant, vegetables crunchy and flavoursome... You just can't fault this place. I particularly loved aubergine goma, a not very easy dish to find in Scotland.... View menu
