"Tiny and intimate basement restaurant in Stockbridge with a warm welcome and genuine authentic Italian food which is an order of magnitude above even good Italian eateries. The young couple who own and run it (husband front-of-house, wife cooking) do a fantastic flavour-packed 5- or 7-course tasting menu, with the a la carte option on Thursday and Sunday. We shared a charcuterie platter to start (all sourced from a mountain village in the Marche, with crusty focaccia and peppery olive oil; followed by sweet (and v tender) octopus for my wife and and perfectly cooked, savoury wild mallard breast with pistachios and cavolo nero for me. Brilliantly done, deep deep flavours. As a pudding the goat cheese Seada with figs and honey was absolutely superb: a crispy deep-fried “raviolo” filled with salty goat cheese and balanced by the honey. To kill for. Not joking. Good selection of less-known Italian wines, including several from the Marche region. Not ridiculously expensive, cosy and great vfm. Lovely folk too; food made with love and hospitality."

I had a perfect meal at this restaurant, rating it 10/10. The standout dish for me was the oyster mushroom. The service was amazing and they had a great selection of wines. Overall, it was a wonderful evening.

A lovely little Italian restaurant with delicious food! After reading positive reviews on Tripadvisor, we chose to eat here on our first night in Edinburgh and we were not disappointed!! The focaccia is incredible. Great food in a lovely setting. We will definitely return on our next visit to Edinburgh! View menu

I so wanted to give this place 5 stars but we were a little disappointed with the food, especially having seen such great reviews. The place is delightful and the service totally charming. We were there on a Saturday night so it was very noisy, as so many places are, having no soft furnishings. My husband is a tad deaf so this can be a problem for us. We had the a la carte option and I chose the breaded mushroom for the main course, meant to taste like chicken which it really did! Rather bland, overcooked chicken really. But lots of lovely bits and as I said, great ambiance so we'll definitely give it another go.

My husband and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant and chose the seven-course tasting menu, with my husband also having the matched wines. Every dish we tried was incredibly delicious, and it was a pleasant surprise to have options for pescatarians on the tasting menu. My husband mentioned that each wine was unique and paired perfectly with the dishes. The atmosphere was cozy and created a romantic setting for our evening, especially when combined with the exceptional service we received - attentive and knowledgeable but not pretentious. As locals, we had put off trying RadiCibus for too long - don't make the same mistake!

Once again, Giovanni and Mara have impressed me! This hidden gem is my favorite restaurant in Edinburgh. What sets it apart is their dedication to using honest, organic, and high-quality ingredients. I am very particular about what I eat, opting for clean, non-GMO, and pesticide-free options whenever possible. Giovanni and Mara seem to share my values when it comes to sourcing ingredients, resulting in beautifully crafted dishes that showcase the best flavors. Every plate is thoughtfully composed, with attention to detail in presentation and taste. Giovanni's wine selection and olive oil are always a treat, showcasing his knowledge and passion for food and drink. I feel so fortunate to have... View menu

Can’t stress enough what a special experience this delightful little restaurant is. Just a handful of tables and a taster menu that would be unrivalled in any Michelin star restaurant. Personal service but never overwhelming. The wine pairing is a must as the charming Italian sommelier really knows his stuff but do a so in such a relaxed way as to make it feel like a real adventure. I’d never tried any of the wines before (each a perfect pairing with the very imaginative little meals) and every one was a delightful revelation. The tiny restaurant is both classy lovely crockery too! and romantic. You could easily be on some Venetian back street. Our excellent meal was entirely vegetarian but...

What an incredible wee gem! We asked for a table very last minute on a Friday night and they were delighted to welcome us in. Such a beautiful venue! Run by husband and wife it was fantastic to support an independent family restaurant. The wine list is class! They helped recommend a wine we have never had and wouldn’t have opted for divine!! Let’s start with the homemade foccacia so fresh, crusty, salty. This was served with a whipped pesto almond butter. The best bread I’ve ever had. So good I asked to buy some to take home. They kindly gave us some complimentary. We shared starters tuna tartare (so fresh) and beautifully presented. Veal meatballs exploding with flavour and my favourite di...

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
