"I went to the Cracking Crab twice during the Easter holidays. Both times I had my two children (5 and 8 with me. The first visit was just me and them and the second time I also had two friends with me. The setting is just beautiful. We sat right next to the window on our first visit and saw the sun go down. On our second visit we were in one of the booths but still could see the view of the beach very well. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and make my children and I feel very welcome. We try and book the earliest table we can for dinner when we have the kids with us to avoid tiredness (the children! and enhance the experience for all of us. I have also been lucky enough to go sans children with my husband on a few occasions and have had some lovely, intimate dinners at table number 1! I love seafood and wine and both are very good here. Can't wait to go back in the summer!"

"rude and racist bouncers worst experience in the city ever. I visited the blues kitchen shoreditch on the 5th march 2022. I came with 9 other friends at 23 o'clock this evening with prepaid tickets. the bouncer at the door required ids, although most people in the waitsnake did not show their ids and bouncer did not get on the board. I was compliant, and I showed my ID to her colleagues. he said I should be more polite next time. I was confused and asked him when I had been rude to him, then he said, "You don't come in today." their bouncer even used his left arm to block me when I tried to talk to my friends who were already admitted. "This review is strictly on the afternoon tea experience only. The food was absolutely wonderful, the lady who served food and the male staff (presumed the owner) were both very kind and friendly. I felt that the afternoon tea was an absolute treat since there was nothing to fault with, that was only until it was ruined by the rude woman who was driving past in black 4x4 (presumed female host). After we finished the afternoon tea, I decided to let my dog out from our car to let him stretch his legs before we set off, the rude woman mentioned above asked me if I was looking for a public footpath so I answered no. She then started to lecture me about the ‘no dog policy’ in the property as well as pointing a direction to the public footpath I did not ask. She drove further towards the car park and parked there, got out of her, and started to tell me off in the most rude way possible again. I explained that we just had an afternoon tea here and we’re about to leave. She then turned around started to take stuff out of her boot mumbling loud “stupid..blah blah” in the angry tone, which by the way was clear for me to hear even though I was at least a few feet away from her. I was so bewildered and frustrated at how this perfectly lovely experience went down the hill like this si quickly. Hence I took two stars off even though I did enjoy the food here. Whoever that woman was, please make sure that they cannot behave that way to a guest."

"A few days in Cheltenham found us visiting The Daffodil restaurant which had previously been highly recommended to us. The Daffodil is set down a side street just off Montpellier Gardens and away from the hustle and bustle of the main area and it proved we were quite fortunate to get a booking given the popularity of this place. A very smart venue with an ‘Art Deco’ feel which certainly makes this restaurant feel quite different to many other places we have dined at of late. An excellent menu and first class service makes this a place that anyone visiting Cheltenham must pay a visit. Without doubt, we would certainly head back to The Daffodil should we return to the Town. Don’t miss out."

"very beautiful environment, beautiful place for romantic dinner, in any case it may recommend. wein was ok although they probably want to order a bottle bc price per glass is ridiculous. but courts should have better achieved good quality at this price level, but overall experience under my expectation. for example garnel with mango sauce was like 90% mayonnaise they could simply use mango with lemon honey and coriander or chili why add a mayonnaise? too many supplements also ruined carpaccio. all the ingredients were decent, but together it was a chaos I could not feel the taste of the main thing"

"What a great addition to the Paddington Hyde Park neighbourhood, serving European Russian food. We enjoyed the borscht soup and smoked sturgeon to start, a beautifuly presented pan fried sturgeon and hand made pelmeni as our mains, finishing with the mouth popping lemon sorbet and best ever honey cake. Friendly knowledgeable service, warm atmosphere and reasonably priced for the quality. Looking forward to our next dinner at Aeda."

"Antalya was close to our London hotel in Russell Square so we decided to try it: it was a wonderful meal in a very pretty place with excellent food and friendly service. The full dinner provides an excellent selection of hot and cold starters. Everything was very fresh and the portions were large. The baklava, served warm, was the best we’ve ever had. If you’re in London you must eat at Antalya!"

"My wife and I love Turkish food we were going to try Pasha but the reviews weren't glowing. Checked the menu for this restaurant online and it appealed. It may not be in the best location but well less than 100m off the high street and you are greeted by a frontage that looks out of place. Well lit and stylish. We were greeted by Carmel, there was a lovely buzz about the place people chatting and laughing. Cold meze was brought to the table, houmous, esme salad (chilli), mint yoghurt, aubergine and potato (so good we took a lot home) and vegetables in mayonnaise together with some beautiful warm bread. The menu is exactly what you expect but the prices are unbelievable. My wife had mixed shish, I had mixed grill, my son had doner and my daughter had chicken tenders (would have fed an adult), we all had 2 rounds of drinks and it came to less than £50. Metin, the owner and chef came out to greet us and check our meal was ok. There were a couple who had eaten there 2 to 3 times a week for 4 years and I could understand why. Nothing was too much trouble. I cannot wait to go back this Saturday if only for lunch."

It appears they had gone out of business that day, but the person in charge did not notify us. It was only a cook in the kitchen who informed us. "No record of booking on turning up, therefore no allergy on record. Staff inattentive and largely absent. We were shoved in a corner next to a wall. Forgot my half of the drink order; I asked for coffee and they brought out a cafetiere with just water in it. Food came out well into booking time, items removed (not substituted) because of my allergy even though I flagged it on my booking. Toni was great in checking in after and boxed up what we felt we couldn't eat because we had run out of time. Wasn't sure what to expect price wise because it's not clear on the website but have had much better teas for that cost. It's a shame because we hadn't been before. Is the missed booking because you take from multiple booking sources? A bit disappointing, we probably won't do it again."

"We did the set menu at the River Garden. A number of the options had a supplement, the sundae was pretty average, as was the gnocchi, though the fish and burrata were delicious. It felt very overpriced at £55+ per head. There was also very loud music and someone on a microphone at the start of the meal that ruined the ambience. I wouldn’t go as far as to say we felt ripped off but it was pretty poor value for money."

"Menu half the size of what it used to be and service very slow. Due to the lack of options on the menu we had to ask for the menu from the lounge to cover some dietary requirements on our table. I'm pleased to say that this was no issue, but we didn't like having to ask to do this. A menu should be varied enough to please everyone. Also disappointed to find that there were only tables occupied whilst we were there and yet when we phoned to book we were limited to time slots due to availability! A table of arrived just after us who had booked and yet the staff didn't seem to have any reference of their booking. Sad to say that what was once my favourite restaurant in Westhill, I'm not sure that I will go back."

"so happy that this fantastic place has found in the city. I loved the interieur that brings the memories back to me to work in bayern years ago. the beer was fantastic and I had a nice ham and kartoffel salad, which was a great light lunch. "I visited Chicino's recently to celebrate a friend's birthday. This was our first visit and I was really impressed with the food, service and atmosphere. We did not pre book but there was ample seating available when we arrived. The menus were already on the tables and were easy to understand with a wide variety of options available including pastas, burgers, wraps, steaks, etc. Our order was taken at the table although I am unsure whether this is a measure which has been put into place as a result of covid. Drinks were taken at the same time and we were asked whether we would like them now or with our food. The meals arrived not long after we placed the order and were freshly prepared. I ordered a sizzler burger meal which was a coated chicken fillet with mayo on a bun with a side of salad and chips which could be swapped for rice. The meal that I had was plentiful and so were the meals that my friends ordered. Desserts were available, but as the meal was so filling, I did not have one. My friends enjoyed their cookie dough. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed my evening at Chicino's. Staff were very friendly and the prices offered great value for money. Cheaper and nicer than well known competitors."

"Not local to this area, I chose this restaurant from the consistently excellent Tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. For starters we had the salt pepper squid, which was tasty and cooked just right. For our main courses we had Lamb Bunny Chow and Cyder battered fish chips. The fish was haddock, my preference, which was moist and very nicely cooked in a light crispy batter which wasn’t greasy. The accompanying side dish of onion straws was lightly seasoned and very nicely cooked, which made them very tasty. The Lamb Bunny Chow was very tasty, and such a large portion, that we took the unfinished remains home with us. The vanilla crème brulee was delicious and had the light crispy top that a brulee should have. The service was very good, from friendly and helpful staff. We had a table for two with two funky comfortable wing backed chairs. It was quiz night, but we had considerately been placed in an area separate to the main quiz area, so that we were not overpowered by the event. However, we did have a go at answering the questions ourselves, which was fun. The overall décor is a rustic style, with comfortable dining chairs which I appreciate. We will definitely visit again when next in the area."
