"I've visited this restaurant twice, and my first experience was much better than the second. On my recent visit, the piccata was thick and mushy, while the carpaccio was dry and lacking flavor. I ended up spending over $70 for myself, which included just two glasses of wine. There are many other restaurants that offer better quality for that price. However, I must say the view was lovely."

"We have always had wonderful food at the Toby Carvery. Today was our first meal there after lockdown and it didn't disappoint. The meat was tender and succulent and there was a wonderful choice of vegetables, beautifully cooked. My husband and I both had the roast dinner, drinks and my husband had a dessert and all for £25. That is value for money."

Refused to replace my food and drink. Uber only refunded £3 for the split drink despite me having pictures of the food and receipts that they gave me no option to send. I used to order every single day at work and sometimes at home on the weekend. Never again"

"On entering the carvery me and the family were greeted with that warm, homely smell of SAUSAGES AND BACON! What smell is better than that though? I can't think of one! The carvery itself was immaculate, me and my partner came in about 6 months ago and it has improved astronomically since then! You can really see the work that the team are putting in and that's mirrored in the food quality as well. Toby carvery breakfast is probably one of my favourites and this is probably my favourite Toby carvery now since the improvements! The service was brilliant, fast, friendly and all topped off by a respectful team who obviously enjoy working there. Me and the family will definitely be returning and I look forward to seeing you all again! Boss food, belter service, sparkling clean! I'd have photos but honestly, I think I inhaled the food before any camera could have got a photo!"

"I'm very disappointed at todays Sunday lunch, We booked a table and arrived on time, We were shown to our table and placed our drinks order then joined the que for the Sunday roast, Then it all goes down hill, I can fully appreciate that take away orders being available but why should service stop for the in house diners ? I would say that the que had over forty people in it for quite some time when take away meals were being dished up, Surely for a better dining experience the take away meals should be prepared in the kitchen and let the the in house customers have a more comfortable visit"

"We had booked lunch for four of us at 1pm. When we arrived the place was deserted. Just two bar staff and us. The service was good, but I'd rate the choice and quality of food as very average. Halfway through our meal, several locals turned up and started playing pool at the other end of the bar. Other than that, the place was devoid of any ambience and it was all rather disappointing."

"I had recently moved to Finedon and we went for a family meal on a Sunday! The roast dinners are amazing!! The food was really lovely including the starters we had, I went for pate and it was great and perfect amount. "Went here for a birthday meal. Won't visit again. 10 on the table. No drinks order being taken. Took 30 mins to take food order. Yorkshire puddings were rock hard. Not enough gravy had to ask for more. Wasn't offered sauces again gad to ask. Waited 30 mins for plates to be taken away asked for tea and coffees. Took 30 mins to make then didn't bring milk or spoons had to ask for them. Just a main meal Took 2 1/2 hours. Rude staff who are not attentive at all."

"The food was lovely but there was confusion about the vegetarian meal and how to order it. Often as a Vege at a cavery you tend to wait while everyone else digs in. The same with GF. A pay and order in advance for these meals would be good so everyone can eat together. The pudding came out in bits as well so hard to eat together. However the food was very lovely, staff did their best and it was very good value for money. Vegetarian options: A variety of options."

"the toby carvery was the obvious place where the travelodge nextdoor is located. Unfortunately, what we found was a big disappointment. on the first (Friday) with us was said that they were short staff and closing the buffet so that we could eat if we wanted. but it was the end of the service, so we saw what we got. the food was acceptable. I was worried that none of the hand pumps worked on the bar and the guinness pump was not in order. (a native told me that it had been like that for weeks). the choice for an ale-drinker was therefore john smiths smooth or nothing. on Saturday they did not even open the whole day because of the personal problems. Sunday was the best day with good food and some service, but no improvement of the bar. Monday was a catastrophe. they served, but by cleaning the carvery and could not even offer us a sandwich. I returned to the bar for a “night capsule”. the managerin seemed to be the only person present, and she was totally focused on the fertilizer so I went without being served. a beautiful stay in front of the place was pampered by our experience here, so if we go we hope they have more luck."

"We arrived early and we went to the bar for a drink as our table was not ready. As soon as we received the drinks we were told the table was ready. The 3 of us decided we would like a Carvery meal, there was no queuing as we got our food. All the people behind the food counter were very friendly asking were we came from and being just nice. We all had a very good Carvery and did not need a pudding. The Maes Knoll is very nicely decorated."
