"Really enjoyed our roast dinner at the Toby Carvery in Ewell. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our booth. The waitress took our drinks order and invited us to go and get our carvery. The carver was cheery and offered us 4 different meats. I went for turkey and gammon with plenty of vegetables. Everything was piping hot and so we're the plates. Our drinks were waiting for us at our table as we sat down to eat. The food was delicious. We were offered dessert but we were full, although it did look tempting. We will definitely be returning very soon. Vegetarian options: There are plenty of options. Parking: There's a large parking area and disabled parking too. Wheelchair accessibility: The access is flat plus there is a fire exit to the car park that can make access easy too."

"Turned up for buffet breakfast, parking was awful. The carpark was FULL of BT van's making it hard to even get round the carpark to look for a spot (At least 12 van's) . It didnt even look like there were any engineers in the carvery, so maybe this is the general parking for them, but how annoying for your regular customers. So once we parked across the road, and walked bk over, we went straight to the bar and ordered, no queue which we were surprised at seeing as the carpark was so full. Paid and headed straight to a table and get our breakfast. Everything looked yummy, glas they had their Yorkshire puds, and their bubble and squeek with cheese. But no beans! Waited a while for someone to come out with some, but none did, so went for chopped tomatoes instead. Sauce's were a little shabby on the end of the servery in breakfast bowls and a tea spoon. Little strange..I would have thought re-useable bottles on the tables would be a better idea as the bowl didnt really look appetising at all with dry crusty edges being so close to the hot counter. But cutlery was clean, food was yummy, would defo head back if the carpark could be used for customer's rather than a business parking. Boo to BT!! Find somewhere else to park your van's! Parking: Annoying!!"

"Absolutely appalling. Was absolutely boiling in the place, rammed in like sardines, with shocking wait times. Visited with my husband and 1 year old. Granted it was a Sunday so thought it would be busy, so pre booked. We arrived 10 minutes early, so also expected a small wait until table was ready, was not expecting a 30 minute wait with a ravenous child. Went up to check twice, ready to walk out. Mind my patience was wavering by the 30 minute mark… there was a small apology for the wait, but was like its usual practice. Once we finally got seated, we then waited another 10 minutes for wait staff to take our order. Table was filthy, and not set-up.. might be because we asking where our table was, but still… I went up to collect food for myself and baby, another 20 minutes queuing.. food was left to be desired. Once my husband could go up, he waited another 20 minutes. Mid-que announcement they had run out of gammon ‘we didn’t know it was going to be this busy’… how?!?? How do you not know it’s going to be busy… Could not wait to get out of there, we both left half our food as was just inedible. Turkey was nice, beef you were lucky to get a square inch without fat or veins running through. Roast potatoes might have well as been mash, dripping in oil too. Just don’t understand why they could let so many people get in….. ugly duckling sums up this place perfectly."

"It’s organised chaos! booked a table at 7.15 sat down an hour later! was told they do it on a list basis! There was cleared dinner plates sitting piled up on the bar for the hour we was there never moved, it was disgusting, hardly any staff on couldn’t get a drink a poor young lad who was hobbling about looked like he broke his foot could hardly walk he should of been sent home! he told us he nearly passed out in the toilet from the pain but the Manager on duty wouldn’t let him go totally appalling!!"

"Decided to have carvery, definitely a mistake! Most of the vegetables were dried out. Roast potatoes were hard and inedible. Yorkshire pudding was hard. Only the turkey and ham were edible. Member of staff on carvery was not particularly helpful. Could barely make out was he was saying. The other staff serving at the table were very helpful."

"Went here yesterday for mothers day with my mam and two sisters . The moment we walked in it was like a cattle market which was understandable been mother's day . Well told to go in bar area while table was ready . Right they squashed 4 of us in a tight corner in the bar my mother is disabled . I went and told them I booked a month ago for the resturant she said you in resturant which I said no its bar .told her we were squahed my mam carnt walk properly and she couldn't carry carvery .to which she said will get someone to carry it I can carry it but not the point .anyway we all go up the staff serving the wS a rude one my sister asked for beef but could she have the fresh beef as the one he was cutting from was very fatty ti which he said rudly all meats fatty other beef same if I give you that ya will send it back .to which she said meat as got a bit of fat in but that will choke so.eone he just shrugged is shoulders .got dinner had to weave in and out of people stood up so not to spill. The dinner was awful flat cold rubbery yorkshire puds we left most of it . We were in for half hour and went it was supposed to be a nice afternoon.alwYs go to toby in barnsley but never again will I spend a penny in there"

"We dine here 1 3 times a week sometimes 4 in the winter. We go as a couple , but often with family friends. 98% of our experiences are very good. Food is freshly cooked and cooked in a healthy way. On quite a few occasions the potatoes have been burnt and sometimes part of the food has been cold. But when we have felt it necessary to complain rare we have had an apology and been compensated . The staff are friendly and try to be accommodating It's value for money. Although we feel very comfortable at our local one We feel comfortable at all of the ones we have visited. We have visited other companies Harvesters this was our favourite for many years but food and service went right down Brewers, Hungry Horse , Zizzies only 2 or 3 times because of continuous bad service food. Thankyou for making mealtimes easy"

"Good value Sunday Lunch. Service is quick if you have the carvery menu. I don't know how it is if you eat from the menu. I have eaten at other chains on a Sunday lunch which can be a very long ordeal waiting ages to be seated/ order taken/ food delivered to the table but here that wasn't the case. "Have visited on many occasions an found to be very satisfactory, this occasion on Friday 31st March 3pm found to be unsatisfactory as food was not to satisfactory standards IE.. vegetables dry cold and under cooked, Yorkshire pudding was flat an hard along with traditional roast potatoes. Have also noticed toilets not be to cleaned to a high standard, also witnessed serving staff behind carvery eating food from the carvery making jokes and placing food back that they bit back very unprofessional and unhygienic to members of paying custom, don't know if this is an ongoing situation?? But for the time of day place was empty, annoyed at the fact have wasted £51 on food that wasn't to standard. IE IF I WAS MANAGEMENT STAFF BEHIND SERVER WOULD OF GOT SACKED ON THE SPOT FOR THE UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOUR. NOT EXCEPTED WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!!!"

"they have a few appetit vegan items to choose on the menu and they can be brought to vegan veg on the table (which was not crushed in butter) . order their 1.. so that at the time the people offered order vegan from the waiting queue they can come to the table. good vegan powder too. the toby had been on decent vegan menus for many years. "we thought the resteraunt was clean, a nice temperate, and gokd worth fkr money. the food was very tasty, although we were dissalointed, that there were no apple sauces to accompany the brittle wine. also swashing and cheese sauce on the cauliflower would have made the meal more pleasant. the drinkability was bad, as only one of the three benches was available. there was a delay in ordering our drinks, and until they arrived, we had already visited our main course."

"I visited the restaurant for a carvery on Thursday this week, and honestly, it was nearly flawless! The food was hot, and the portion of meat was generous. I had requested a large portion but ended up receiving a regular one; however, it was quite loud, so I can overlook that, haha! After my positive experience, I returned on Saturday for breakfast. It was almost perfect, but not quite as impressive as the carvery. When I went up to the buffet, there were no breakfast Yorkshire puddings available, but I assume they were restocked fairly quickly. The same issue occurred with the mushrooms, which also limited my options. Additionally, I noticed the absence of scrambled eggs, even though it’s listed on the menu. I'm not sure if this is a recent change or if they no longer serve scrambled eggs for breakfast. Overall, I believe a rating of 4 out of 5 is very fair!"

"I visited this Toby carvery twice recently on a Saturday afternoon. It was easy to drive to, with plenty of parking. In fact the car park, grounds are well planted with greenery. The outside of the building is in good condition, the interior design decor are tasteful, in good condition. The tables are quite well separated, comfortable seating. There is a small bar area, also outide area, probably nice in Summer. It was very easy to book a table on the website, both times i've been greeted quickly, in a friendly manner, quickly shown to our table. The Carvery I consider reasonably priced I think, at £8.29 on a Saturday, (I think it is a bit less on weekdays, a bit more on Sundays. plus drinks of course. We didn't need to queue for long to get our choice of Beef, Turkey, Gammon, Pork, plus a yorkshire, stuffing, then a range of veg. peas, green beans, carrots, roast potatoes, parsnips Plus nice gravy, sauces if required. (You can even go back for more veg gravy if you can manage any more !! Staff were all friendly helpful, the food was just a great roast meal !"

I had truthahn, it never looks much when they put it on, but when they start eating it, it seems to be straining. many of the Veg selections and the roasted and filling were beautiful. only negatiw for me personally is that they have ceased to make garlic, but the masque that she still had was still beautiful. "this toby carvery was a large venue with a large sitting area for pub pottery and a separate restaurant area. beautiful open places not, too busy on Saturday afternoon when I was here. a nice note was the 2 open fires makes it a warm friendly atmosphere. the employees were pleasant and engaged, all wearing the company uniform look smart and professional. at this opportunity I ordered fried kartoffeln and southern fried chicken strips. türkei sandwich with gravey, plumen crushed with custard. most of the food was ok standard, chicken strips were more chicken nugget size and cooked over. had the breakfast the next morning, wow. what a solid, £5.50 and they can go further back, how is this place not full with the people at this price? Sundays carvery is very busy after the taxi diver that throws us off, he takes many people and they ring him back because they do not come in because it is too full, he recommends them to book carvery before Sunday. parking space in front of location with lots of space available. if this review was informatiw enough for them there is one thumb for others."
