"Lovely pub with amazing staff! Laura, in particular, was really helpful helping us find a table and recommending food for us. We shared a selection of the small plates they were great, and perfect sharer options for friends out for drinks and nibbles. The food was a little slow coming out, and some bits were a little cold, but we put that down to ordering quite a few different dishes, and it didn’t spoil the experience overall. We did witness an uncomfortable incident where a very unhappy customer was complaining in quite an aggressive and intimidating way, but Laura kept her calm and handled it amazingly well. It was hard to watch, so must’ve been awful to be on the receiving end of that kind of complaint management should be proud of their staff!!"

"First when we were seated we had the menus and two of them were so dirty. I had to ask for another ones. The food was not good at all. My burger, which is the fusion one made out of a mix of flour and meat and probably eggs as it was so hard. It did not feel like burger at all. The ribs were not great either as they were made of cheap quality meat. The whole experience was not pleasant as of hygiene, food quality, and also the price. I will never be back and I will advise friends not to try."

"This place never ceases to amaze me. A very small but intimate restaurant with a great atmosphere, very friendly helpful staff probably the best Indian food I've ever had. Four of us phoned to see if they could accommodate us almost immediately. Luckily, it being midweek it wasn't a problem. The staff really looked after us. Only too pleased to advise about the menu will also let you order a certain dish with a hotter sauce or modify dishes as you request. I can certainly recommend the Desi Lamb...Amazing! The Onion Bargis are superb (order 1 between two ....they are big) Tikka Massala superb. They don't serve alcohol but there is no problem at all taking your own beer wine in. We will return."

"Cheese from the pizza had slid off and was on the box. The chips weren’t done right and had to be put in our air fryer for another couple of minutes. Even then, they didn’t taste nice. Didn’t have any of my pizza or chips and had to order from somewhere else. Won’t be ordering from here again. Only good thing was the delivery. Was here really quick. But would have been happy to wait a bit longer, if the food had been made right. My partner said her rice and sauce was “ok” but not great."

"Poor experience start to finish. Both waiters appeared to have no experience at all. On arrival restaurant was quiet with only one other table, waiter was unable to prepare alcoholic drinks, so we had to wait for another waiter, which resulted in a 40 minute wait for drinks. Once food was finally ordered, starters and main course all came at once, leaving no room on the table. The chicken tikka was cold and had to go back to the kitchen to be microwaved and the naan bread was hard. Sadly, the food was not what was expected having read other reviews. The waiters were pleasant, but not once checked that the food was ok or whether we would like more drinks. The ladies bathroom was far from clean with no toilet paper and a dirty sink. The meal was very disappointing and expensive. It was easy to see why the restaurant was almost empty on a Friday night."

"My partner and I usually collect food from here, but last night we had our first delivery and the food was beautiful, as always! Every meal is tasty with big portions full of meat! They forgot our free bottle of pop last night so a bit gutted about that but the friendly service in the shop, and friendly delivery driver made up for that! Our favourite Indian in Cardiff! "This restaurant is truly underrated. The staff is outstanding and very friendly. The constant flow of young adults coming in and out hints at the delicious food being served. Despite the lack of customers dining in, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal each time I visited and always ended up with a large takeout container to bring home. Some of the curry dishes even taste better the next morning for breakfast. It's a bring your own (alcohol) and bring your own (cash) establishment, as they do not have a card machine. While there may be some questionable practices with their books, the food coming out of the kitchen is nothing short of delicious."

"Why we visited Sampan Bromley? We have been looking for a restaurant to have Sunday Buffet lunch at reasonable price and with many items to taste. We have seen few other restaurants around Bromley do the Buffet but we selected this restaurant as the picture(on the website) provided in Buffet section is tempting and looks like there are many items Actual Experience: When we arrived there, we were shocked. "I arranged a meeting and decided to go to a competitor's Indian restaurant, but it was a bit challenging and some of the staff were not very friendly. A friend recommended this place to me, and I was pleasantly surprised by the interior. The menu offered a good selection of dishes for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. The portions were quite generous, and in hindsight, I probably should have ordered a smaller mixed grill, but it was Christmas after all. The Indian mixed grill we ordered was excellent and arrived at our table sizzling hot, creating quite a bit of smoke. The portion size was large, with enough food to comfortably feed 4 people with the included naans. The value for money was fantastic. I also tried the lamb saag, which was tender and flavorful. The sauces and dips were served in a nice presentation, rather than being in large squeeze bottles like some other places. They provided paper napkins, not cheap kitchen roll, and offered a take-home option for leftovers. The staff was very friendly, and I look forward to visiting again in the future."

"On the day that government extended the tier 4 areas across the country, I collected dinner from Desi only to find that all the 3 employees inside Desi had no protection whatsoever. Not even bad placed mask on the chin as many people use, not a single mask at sight. Every other take away that I have used in the last week had employees with masks as mandatory for every open business. Being a restaurant with a open door on a tier 4 area I expected much more from Desi."
