"Wonderful find! Former coaching inn in a beautiful location in the North Yorks Moors. Owners staff were so welcoming. Rooms clean and efficient with a crowing cockerel providing the wake up call!! And where else could you share a few beers in the bar with locals, their dogs, and four Australians on the final leg of their coast to coast walk. A memorable stay on a visit to the NYMR’s 2023 steam gala. See you again in 2024!! Rooms: 4"

"This restaurant is a local gem, good value for money, fantastic decor and atmosphere. There's a good selection on the menu and something for everyone. My only criticisms are that the menu had options only for meat eaters and vegetarians. There was nothing highlighted for vegans. I was able to identify from the vegetarian meals and starters which one's would be suitable for me, but there was nothing for me when it came to desserts. When I asked one of the waitresses about if there was any dessert suitable for my vegan diet, she didn't seem to understand what it meant. At least I was able to get a starter and main that tasted delicious. One of my party ordered a dessert that turned out to look nothing like the photo on the menu. The explanation was that they had changed supplier. It would have been helpful to know that was the case before ordering. Having said that, they did take it away and didn't charge is for it. The other thing I always like when dining with people is that our food arrives at the same time. This was not the case at this restaurant. Staff were attentive, courteous and helpful. At one point, a few senior looking men went around to all the diners to check if everything was okay. I really liked that as it made us feel they genuinely care. I would like at least one vegan option on the dessert menu before I return again, but overall, it was a good experience and I highly recommend in. Well done Lara Grill!"

"A lovely family orientated restaurant and bar with a legendary name. Very pleasant and gregarious owners and staff alike. You can feel how proud they are of this venue, rightly so. The food was magnificent, the fish and chips was sensational. The tartare sauce was probably, the best I have ever had. This is a very great place to stop by for food and drinks right next to St Michaels mount. I will certainly be back here in the future. Many thanks for the great hospitality shown and the delicious food also. Dimples."

"I am so sad to be leaving such a poor review for a local independent cafe somewhere that used to be my number one go to in town. The standard of this place has seriously dropped, they serve budget food sold at high prices, dressed up with a bit of rocket or Aldi coleslaw. Afternoon tea made with Iceland and Aldi cakes (not an assumption, a confirmed fact). The owner talks to his staff, in front of customers, like they are disposable. I am saddened to see that he has since expanded and bought another local cafe. It’s mostly young girls he has working for him and you can see they are not happy with how they are treated, but most I’m guessing too scared to say anything. I actually asked one, last time I was there, if he always spoke to them like that and she told me ‘that was nice compared to normalz’. Not a nice man. Won’t be buying my coffee and lunch from there anymore."

"Lovely Mediterranean restaurant by the clock tower in Exeter city centre. Despite being a tiny little place the Dinosaur cafe is packed full of flavour. We have visited the Dinosaur cafe several times so we have dined in under the old and the new management and I can assure prospective customers, the flavour is still there bringing good fresh homemade flavours and aromas from Turkey including favourites dishes such as kofte (meatballs), Karniyarik (stuffed aubergine), moussaka among many others until you reach the desserts so make sure to try their baklavas for a right treat. Moreover, the staff we've met over the years at the cafe have all been fantastic, friendly (great with kids), kind and informative if you're happy to explore new flavours for instance if you're interested in tasting the specials of the day. I would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant whether you're dining in or taking the food away. Lovely little Mediterranean place in Exeter city centre."

"The food is bang average. They're big on the up selling i.e. you get naff all for your money. Service was poor, somewhere between table service and serve yourself that feels a bit Toby carvery/harvester esque. Others seem to love it as is always busy, unsure as to why. Can get far better food at much more reasonable prices up the road at the black rabbit and Leicester's. Food: 3"

"This restaurant is fantastic. The food is amazing, and the atmosphere was lovely. We really enjoyed our visit and was greeted by what I think are the owners, a lovely lady and man. The waitresses were also great. I was surprised to see rolled hand towels in the bathrooms, they were really clean also. I would recommend, as this was the best meal I have had in a long time."

"I ordered the pappardelle in beef ragu at £16.50. It arrived luke warm. Hot pasta tastes much better I thought. I expected pulled beef, sadly it was just pappardelle in a brown sauce. Very disappointing. The description on the menu appears to be misleading. I queried this with the waitress who checked with the chef who explained that this is how the restaurant always serves the dish. At £16.50 it seems quite expensive. I was wondering how the chicken dishes will be served. Based on my experience don't expect any chicken. On the plus side the setting of this restaurant is beautiful whatever the season. Parking: Plenty of parking."

"Avoid if possible. I saw 3 meals that had to return to the kitchen. And there were only about 10 tables occopied. I ordered hummus and pita and they gave a cut up wrap as the pita, without an apology or excuse. Humus came straight from a supermarket. My husband ordered spare ribs as a starter and they were below average. The lamb ravine my husband ordered was bland and I. Ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. There all sorts of random bits in my salad like 3 pieces of green beans, a few leaves of rocket. I think the chef does not care about cross contamination in the kitchen. Also the chicken was not grilled, just a cooked chicken (I suspect from the supermarket again). The best part of the meal was the bottle of water I ordered. For 75, go somewhere else if you can. You can also skip staying at the hotel. Very outdated rooms, wobbly mattresses, not worth the money."

"Do you want gourmet fish and chips with a gorgeous setting, located right in the harbour part of St Ives? Then hit this spot. They have a lovely cafe style come restaurant upstairs. Harbour Fish Chips Cafe and Takeaway has lovely views onto the harbour in St Ives Cornwall. It serves fabulous locally caught fish seafood either battered or grilled."

"I had heard that they had mac-cheese and swooped and had to slaughter and so on a weekday, I went over and hour to get one just to find out that is only on Friday. I have pushed my sad feelings aside and ordered a drawn swarm, special sway and cheese wrap. Oh, boy, that was good. the meat is very tasteful and the crispy tie has added a beautiful texture. I plan to complete it down there for a Friday afternoon and to make my mac and silent room come true!"

"There is something about this wooden-floored bar restaurant with old black white photographs decorating the walls, that always draws us in when we're in Chepstow. The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable and the food is very good. The music is genuinely background, meaning that you don't have to shout to have a conversation and the street outside is mostly pedestrianised, so pleasant to sit in."

"The perfect, cosy pub atmosphere with a vast menu to choose from. Typical pub meals on offer fish and chips, steak and always pie or bangers and mash, but also lots of other things to choose from, including starters, vegetarian options, and desserts. Carmel and Bill are friendly and relaxed. Rotating menu of ales on tap, as well as spirits, wine, aperitifs, and digestifs! Keep an eye out for games nights and quiz nights, attracting lots of lovely locals as well. A real gem in the middle of the beautiful village of East Hendred. Book if you can, so they know you're coming ;"

"I chose the sit down restaurant with table service at The Mariner. (They have three dining areas Outside on the patio, Pub, and Restaurant with table service dining. Friendly and helpful waitress. The restaurant decor is sadly lacking it felt a bit like dining in a cafeteria/food hall. The food I simply ordered a sandwich (Chicken, smoked bacon.and mayo . It was a substantial serving size. (Presented and sized in typical Bar Food style too large for me. The only complaint I had was the long wait to get to ask for the invoice and to get to pay."

"My husband and I visited this pub recently. I booked online but as it was a lovely evening we decided to early to enjoy a drink in the beer garden. We went to the bar and I explained we had a booking but came early to enjoy the nice weather. Unfortunately our booking hadn’t been received due to a glitch in the online booking system but it wasn’t a problem. The young lad running the bar gave us our drinks and we went out in the beer garden. Nice atmosphere, full of locals and great views. We then went back inside and went to our table. I commented that there was a lack of staff compared to my last visit with the young lad running the bar, clearing tables, fixing the computer system as it had gone down and taking food orders. A real one man band. We made a comment to him about no staff and he was very polite and didn’t “dump” his problems on us, instead he was complimented us on our patience etc. our starters arrived all very good. Our mains arrived and were equally good. Other customers didn’t seem to have the same experience as us due food items not available etc. The chef was the breakfast chef and not the regular restaurant chef and full of apologies to the disappointed customers. We were too full for dessert so went to pay the bill and it was suggested we get takeaway desserts which we had did. This pub is a great place with friendly helpful staff who work hard so whatever problems they are going through at the moment I hope they resolved soon as would be a shame if bad reviews started coming in and ruin their reputation."

"After spending 19 hours in the emergency department of the hospital we arrived in Buckingham around 2 pm and as we were hungry we decided to go to eat at Prezzo, which we had never been to before. As soon as we entered we saw a middle aged blonde woman who asked us if we had a reservation (which surprised me because the restaurant was empty except for 2 tables, I thought that she didn't seem to control the reservations she had, if she managed it well she would have known that we didn't have a reservation). She spoke to us all the time in a very rude way and looked down on us. We placed our order, but about 2 minutes later I went to the bar and asked her to please change some dishes, she spoke to me very rudely and started banging on the computer to cancel the dishes very aggressively and very angry. We ordered the following: Caesar salad, the portion of food is too small to be worth £13.95, a supermarket bag has a lot more, and they brought it to us without the egg. Spaghetti Bolognese, when we came in we saw at one of the tables that they served it with a large amount of bolognaise on a separate plate but they brought us very little bolognaise on top of the spaghetti, it doesn't seem to me to be a dish worth £13.50. Penne Alla Rusticana, a lot of penne and not enough chicken and only 4 small pieces of ham, the pepper was also scarce, the sauce was more like cream with a little tomato for colour, not much flavour, not a dish worth £14.50 either I had to go and get it to ask for grated cheese, the other table next to us had a large bowl of grated cheese for the same diners and we got a very, very small portion. For dessert we ordered tiramisu which was brought to us with a blonde hair on top. To pay I had to go again to look for her who was on the terrace sitting at a table with the chef looking at her mobile phone. We were treated as if we were not good enough for the restaurant or could not pay the bill, the meal cost us £64.10, which seems very expensive for the treatment and the food, in my opinion they gave us smaller portions because the manager did not like us. I have never been made to feel so bad. Of course I will never go to a Prezzo again."

"great little place. we had the Greek omelette, loaded with feta, spinat, tomato and crumble. and the gyros that was amazing. authentic Greek- simple setting, with fresh tasty home cooked dips, full taste, great prices and all served with a smile and friendly service. some of the commentary have mentioned that they have to wait a little for eating - the smells are proud of their preparation, and that means it can take a little longer, but pays off after taste! if they want a prefabricated, pre-packed, conservative loaded lunch that has been blown up in a lot to heat up 5 minutes, then stick them with costa or one of the others. I would rather wait a bit longer (you can always spend the additional 5 minutes, some Greek phrases from the chalkboard on the wall to learn, or admire the small olive trees that are planted in), and then enjoy their delicious food know that it is prepared with care and all the best ingredients. will be coming back here"

"This restaurant is absolutely charming! The atmosphere is amazing and friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are great. I requested a meal that wasn't on the menu, and the chef had no problem creating a custom dish for me. The homemade cakes are to die for. They also offer a special deal after 2:30pm - "coffee and cake for £6". I highly recommend this place for a delicious breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee and cake break."

"Called in here end of August 2023 with the family at their recommendation from a previous visit. Wow, the food is a very good reason for relocation to Aberfeldy and I'd probably eat there all the time. Had the Chef Recommended Kasheck Pollo Chicken and it was absolutely superb as we're all the choices of dishes we had. Don't miss this total gem if you're in the area. Wonderful friendly and attentive service, so lovely to the children too. Atmosphere is charming and feels really authentic. 100% a real gem of a place. Looking forward to my next visit."
