"had a great night stay here. the rooms have everything they need and love the fact that, although they do not do the breakfast, they receive fresh milk and müsli provided in their room. they are the little things that make a big difference! all staff were friendly and helpful. we also had a meal that was delicious. I had scallops as main and nabebie had sampi and we had pizzas for lunch the next day. would absolutely recommend to stay here and eat. Fab atmosphere with a beautiful log fire"

"The menu was imaginative and intriguing, offering unique dishes alongside classic favorites like roast beef and fish and chips. Our food was served promptly and efficiently, with a touch of lightness that was refreshing. The quality of the food was outstanding—super fresh fish encased in crispy, golden batter, creamy mushy peas, and lovely hand-cut chips. The flatbreads and baked Camembert with halloumi were also superb. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable! We will definitely return the next time we pass through, and if you live nearby, you should definitely pay them a visit!"

"We visited this place on Saturday night, a mixed group of 6. We couldn't fault anything. We all selected different things from the menu, and all the dishes are delicious, plentiful and hot. We were told there number of items not available, but there is so much choice we easily found satisfactory substitutes. The pub itself is quite small, so would not be suitable for a large group. But we loved it. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back."

"in the truth I was not in this pub for some considerable time, since when I called in the past, the Cask-Ale was out or very limited choice. I am pleased to report on what is a difference! excellent selection of Hyde-Biern, the pub is brightly fresh with comfortable sitting outside as well as friendly bar staff an excellent pint!"

"Fantastic Indian food and my favourite Indian restaurant. Beautifully decorated rooms with good bar and the excellent dishes include the chicken thighs, Golden Fried Prawns, Butter Chicken Curry, Hyderabadi Lamb Shank and kebab platter. Good set lunch menu and quieter than in the evening so good for a business lunch. It is pricey but the quality and presentation is outstanding."

"Unusually, King Edward IV's menu has a whole page of vegie mains, but aside from a great soup of the day, that's as good as it gets. My vegie main was £12 (compared to £17 for a good steak and was a *tiny*, flavourless potato-filled pastry- not even a bit of cheese in it to perk up the taste/ingredient cost. Plus, it was clear they'd quickly baked off the vegie dishes and brought them to table without co-ordination with the rest of the kitchen; our plates sat going frigid for another 10 minutes while the grills and pastas were brought out. (and pastry should be oven-hot- an already flavourless dish was overwhelmed by the taste texture of grease And the staff- they appeared quite nice but repeatedly ignored questions about the vegie-friendliness of entrees desserts, and were definitely not pro-active- I'd turned down buying a chocolate ganache because they couldn't work out if it was vegie, so when my second choice of chocolate torte turned out to actually be a mousse which merely reversed the colours of the ganache, they should have picked that up. And despite not eating that second-choice dessert, I was still charged a very hefty £7 for it. (which is fine for a proper dessert, but not when all they've done is taken it out of a packet . Don't go here specifically, and if you get dragged along, stick to the soup (assuming it's vegie! ."

"one of the largest caviar houses I've ever been, it's right on the mayfair next to the wolseley and scorching. the caviar is fabulously better than what you can find in most airports and other bars around london. the baliklachs is supposed to be very good, although I am not a fan. they combine fresh ingredients and present them very beautifully on the plate. I would suggest if all were big on seafood. kaviar and oysters are a must when u go there."

"With no water in our village due to an accident and damaged pipeline, cooking at home wasn't so appealing so we headed off to our favourite bar and restaurant, the Corner House. The place was busy and technically full as many people had the same idea, but the staff rallied round to make room for us and despite them being run off their feet, the food and service was still absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Luke and the rest of the staff, you really pulled it out of the bag... and this is exactly why we go back there time and time again. We couldn't recommend it more, 5 stars every time."

"For once I was disappointed when I came for lunch today. We were shown to our table but hadn't even sat down before a staff member was over asking for a drinks order. We said what we wanted and she left. Drinks arrived reasonably quickly unlike the staff who were leaning against the bar and never came over to take our order. Eventually I managed to call one over and we placed out order. It seemed to take forever before the plates arrived (a sandwich and a haggis starter with a bowl of fries). Unfortunately the haggis had been replaced by pate for some reason so that had to go back. At this point I complained to the waiting staff who took my plate away and the bowl of fries. Later the correct order was delivered but the fries were only warm and nowhere hot. Another complaint and the manager apologised and took the fries off the bill. I've been before and had a great experience but this time it was just not up to scratch with staff standing around and not attending to the small number of guests that were there."

"friendly welcome and even though they are still very attentive away. I had the lobster and prawn cocktail, which was beautiful, would have a weed more lobster, but lovely and burdened when garnel. hubbie had the mushrooms in a sose also beautiful. I went for the speckrippe, which came with basilikum and a whisky and marmelade sauce. wow. beautiful dish and the sauce really added the speck. hubble went for the fish and chips after someone else saw. the teig was a beautiful light and crispy. this is a hurt hidden shade and we will definitely come back to the way to linger. we chose the travelodge, because the pub was recommended."
"Stayed at the ship on a couple of occasions and eaten here often , we came for Sunday lunch last Sunday and as usual it was excellent. Only negative thing that I could say was that the service was slow . This is in no way a reflection of the staff , they work so hard and are so friendly they are a credit to the place. It seems to me that they are very understaffed and the owners should invest in extra staff instead of putting the current team under so much pressure."

"Celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary was lovely but not the most romantic as it was noisy as usual. The seating was private as they have lots of barriers and corners despite having lots of covers. The food is exceptional. We had the same starter Duck Liver Parfait Caramelised hazelnuts, apricot and apple chutney, toasted brioche which was amazing. Bread can give me indigestion if it is mass produced and this bread was fine so presumably made in house or made the traditional way. Main : The Ivy Shepherd’s Pie with garden peas, broad beans and baby shoots. We had had this before, and it didn’t disappoint. Our favourite pudding, which was the apple tart was not on the menu. My husband had the rum barbar, one of his favourites in France, but he’d never ever in 40 years had one in the UK that was so delicious, and a decent size. The staff are amazing. Attentive at not too much. All in all, we had a very nice time and I hope to be back before next year."

"Through the onslaught of the eat out to help out mentalness that results in restaurants being jammed full Mon Weds, these staff cope admirably. It happens I came camping to Birchingham Monday to Friday, so did pre book, and the food and ambience was very good so I booked a table for the next 2 nights. It is appreciated on these busy nights if you arrive on time and don 't spin it out too much needed but somehow the staff keep everything moving along nicely here without anyone feeling rushed. Night 1 I had 3 starters prawn and chorizo kebab, salad, and basket of bread with olives and sundried tomato. The food was perfect and also the house Merlot is good. Night 2, 'I had the sea bass with vegetables. A good sized portion and a varied selection of potato and veg. Sugar snap peas and green beans both! And other veg. A good sized tender tasty sea bass. For dessert, the Eton mess was a delight, creamy, light and moussey with a tasteful selection of fresh sweet berries. With a glass of Pinot Grigot, a perfect meal. Night 3,:had the chicken pitta and chips. Generous portion of chicken and good chips. This went nicely with the tomato and chilli sauce which I requested. One suggestion is, I think this could come automatically with this dish. It is a natural partner. Selection of ice cream was perfect to finish. The pub restaurant is very Covid aware, with staff all in masks and carefully cleaning all the tables after every group. This is very reassuring. With this in mind please expect to book ahead Mon Weds, and be patient with the staff. They will do their utmost to fit you in. If there isn 't room, there really isn 't please don 't challenge this. I witnessed some impatient behaviour around someone having to wait for a table eatlier, it was kind of embarrassing. As a single diner I felt very comfortable. I think it would be a lovely place to stay.I 've really enjoyed eating here and will return next time I 'm in the area."

"visited with family on a busy Saturday night. the pub is a beautiful place and the personal greeted us at the arrival. the service was brilliant with our waiter, extremely attentive and helpful. the quality of the food and drinks were fantastic and the fastness of the service was very good when considering how busy the pub was. and our visit was made when he was busy with the whole family and laughed several times. overall a great experience, we will return definitiw."

"Modern, casual restaurant and bar right in the centre of St. Ives. Great food ranging from slow cooked pork belly, duck salad, mussels, crab, cornish sardines and pizzas. I particularly like the fish and seafood dishes and have sampled the starters of grilled cornish sardines with salsa verde as well as chilli squid with lime and coriander mayo. A main course of cornish crab linguine with chilli, garlic and ginger was simply good with generous lumps of white crab meat. On a previous visit I enjoyed roasted sea bass fillets on crayfish and rocket risotto which was also great. Dessert of sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream was excellent and sinful. Service is excellent and friendly and there are great views of the bay through the restaurant windows. Downstairs is the bar area. Great value too."

"Went here with my partner for a activity superstore gift someone had bought us as a present for dinner. When we arrived after our long journey we had to use the toilet facilities, shock horror to find the disabled only women toilet) was absolutely disgusting. Paper towels everywhere and ladies toiletries. I had to speak to the receptionist and she got onto it straight away. toilet was cleaned) but first impression it was a bit late. Once we was shown to our table we were given a very basic menu choice. I ordered the seabass which to be told they didnt have but gave me a choice of different fish, the food came and my partners chicken was very dry from the off, but the salmon was lovely. Soup was nice for starters and dessert for my partner was lovely. Staff were great and welcoming. Just too basic menu choice and would have preferred the main menu and paid extra if needed and not worth the money, had better."

"my wife and I spend about 3 months in northumberland, visit a series of beauty spots, historical sites and equally important to look for great restaurants. our internet research and talks with locals led us to the old boat house in...Amble to lunch. the location of the restaurant (right on the coast) and near a series of interesting huts that houses a lot of objects was immediately attractive. this was given by entering into the restaurant and a very warm welcome by the staff and a table directly on the harbour. all very positiw, but this was just the prelude for some amazing food. we chose the common seafood plate – a huge wooden tablet with a whole lobster, perfectly cooked sea crumbs, lindisfarne oysters, roll mop herings, smoked makrele, hot cold smoked salmon, shetland mussels and delicious broken fish goujons roy pawns with delicious freshly baked freshly baked we would have stopped (should) after this amazing display of delicious food, but we ended the order of desserts – they were also delicious and glad that we did not leave. we can recommend a visit to the old boat house for a culinary extravaganza!"

"Booking for a party of 7 people for an evening meal. Warm welcome from staff who showed us to our reserved table. Ordered a drink a calzone from the menu, which was a 30-minute wait, which we were preadvised, that's how long our food would be and the other 5 orders would be quicker. Well worth wait, good food and amostphere in restaurant. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal and drinks. Two other parties at nearby tables celebrated a birthday. Would recommend."
