"I really like this little spot, nice decor, good size, open kitchen. Toilets are situated upstairs but I think there is a lift for them also. Reasonably priced menu, I had the steak, which I asked for medium rare but it came medium, I decided to eat it anyway as it did look good and tastes good too. My mother had the burger and she very much enjoyed it. Great service. We ate at 1230 on a Saturday afternoon and it was very quiet inside. Completely forgot to take photos of the food"

"We visited Sunday lunchtime with our little dog. We had a very warm welcome from the landlord and his team, and this excellent service continued throughout. The Sunday menu offered dishes other than a roast which is what we both opted for. The ribs were meaty, juicy and very tasty, the salmon full of flavour with a great sauce and accompaniments. We shared a dessert which we regretted as it was so delicious! The wine was perfectly chilled with plenty of choice available for all tastes. The beer and gin selection was extensive. The landlord suggested a lovely local walk to take our dog on afterwards which we did and she reported that she had a great time bounding around the fields! We will definitely come back to this hidden gem and highly recommend it."

"We dined at this restaurant on a very busy Tuesday evening and had an exceptionally positive experience. I hadn't noticed this place before, but the views of the winter gardens added to the enjoyment of our visit. The food was outstanding. The service was efficient, proactive, and friendly. Our group consisted of over 20 people, and all starters and main courses were served promptly, with everything prepared to a really high standard. The staff was very accommodating and went above and beyond to meet our needs. We will definitely come back again. Regarding dietary restrictions, there were vegetarian and vegan options available on all menus, and the communication about one of our guest's dietary needs was excellent."

"Great food. Absolutely delicious smoked haddock pie and cranachan for desert. The service was perfect got served quickly but the two servers were really friendly. There were only a couple of tables filled tonight, so the atmosphere wasn't exactly buzzing, but it felt like a friendly, comfortable place that I'd be really happy to visit again. "With no water in our village due to an accident and damaged pipeline, cooking at home wasn't so appealing so we headed off to our favourite bar and restaurant, the Corner House. The place was busy and technically full as many people had the same idea, but the staff rallied round to make room for us and despite them being run off their feet, the food and service was still absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Luke and the rest of the staff, you really pulled it out of the bag... and this is exactly why we go back there time and time again. We couldn't recommend it more, 5 stars every time."

"I had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Halfway Inn. There were two of us, and we thoroughly enjoyed a traditional Sunday roast. We started with the tempura prawns, which were light, crispy, and delicious. The roasts were plentiful, and I have to give a special mention to the gravy—it was absolutely outstanding. Although we were quite full, we couldn't resist trying the sticky toffee pudding, which was exceptional, especially when paired with the homemade fig honey ice cream. The selection of wine and ale was lovely, and the friendly service in a cozy setting made it a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 4."

"We were visiting London from Hawaii and had heard of this restaurant from friends who had visited Caviar House Prunier in Piccadilly and highly suggested that we visit it.....soooo glad that we did! It was excellent!!! Not only was the meal terrific, but Sam and Mo, our servers/manager, took amazing care of us. They went as far as to make the Lobster club into a salad for me as I didn't care to have the bread with it...such a great luncheon experience! Thanks so much, and we will be sure to visit again on our next trip to London! Aloha, Michele Steve"

"We visited last night for a family birthday. Been before, but not for a while. Four adults and one pre-teen with very specific likes and dislikes! The choice of food was amazing. Specials boards, saver menu, fish, steak, pasta...... It's all there. I had the mushrooms with a cheesy tomato sauce to start, which was gorgeous, and then the fish curry half and half. The chips were gorgeous, and the curry was out of this, world! My husband couldn't make it, so I asked if I could order a takeaway for him. The waitress said that most things could be packed to take away, so I ordered him a chicken curry half and half. Everyone's meals arrived together, and our waitress was attentive but not overly so. We were allowed to eat our meals at our own pace without feeling rushed. My stepdad has dementia, so can take ages to choose and then to eat, but again, we weren't rushed. All agreed the meals were lovely. Nobody could manage dessert, although there were, again, many choices. Our waitress brought out my husband's curry when we asked for the bill, and it was piping hot and well packed. All in all, a hugely enjoyable evening was had by all xx"

"Absolute rubbish, don’t eat there. We had what was very basic food with no flair or imagination from the kitchen, there is much better food at every other establishment in North Norfolk, the service was no better. I wouldn’t normally leave a bad review without complaining directly, but I don’t feel this place deserves the courtesy, they know they’re preparing and serving substandard food and charging over the top prices for it. We’ve been visiting North Norfolk for many years and the choice of where to eat is vast, so it’s taken a long time to eat at The Ship, every time we drive past I say, We’ll have to go there this week – I wish we’d carried on driving past! It was back at the beginning of July when we ate there and it’s because today I found the receipt in my wallet that I thought I must leave a review, £91 wasted, for 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 beer and one soft drink, it was very poor, the worst and most expensive meal of the week by a long way, shocking all round."

"While walking along the Icknield Way, my companions and I stopped at this charming village pub for a quick lunch. The large garden area was a lovely setting, and the service we received was friendly and attentive. We ordered from the bar menu and were delighted with the delicious food, which we found to be great value for the quality. The overall atmosphere suggested that this establishment is well-managed, and I would definitely recommend it to others. I give it a 5-star rating for service and location, and I particularly appreciated the quiet setting."

"Probably the best Indian food I've eaten in the nicest place. I had the business lunch which was £29/33 for 2 or 3 courses. The choice wasn't big but the food was great . A different level to most other Indian Restaurants. With a drink and service my bill was £48. A la carte a fair bit more. Considering the location, and that everything from the minute you walk in the door was of the highest quality, it's a reasonable price to pay. Worth saving up for."

"It's not until you spot that favourite old jumper at the back of the wardrobe that you realise just how much you've missed wearing it. And Toscana is the restaurant equivalent of that favourite old jumper, it might not look like something bang on trend for this season, but every time you slip into it you know you're going to be pleased you did. Prior to the first lockdown we came to Toscana very regularly, once every couple of weeks probably, and Helen and I have both held significant birthdays there. Since lockdown we've not been out so much and we tend to try to vary where we go more, so Toscana had slipped down our list a little. This weekend we went back there for a family celebration and everything was just how we left it; the staff were lovely and remembered everyone's names from previous visits and the food was the same quality as ever, neither of which are easy when you're in a party of fourteen. One thing that always splits the crowd is the decor in Toscana, some people find it a little dark and dated, but personally I love it, there's a certain individual charm that a venue can acquire when the decor goes beyond being dated and it becomes part of what makes visits there so enjoyable. The whole place suits itself so well that nothing should ever change in my opinion, I want to be able to pull this comfy jumper on for decades to come."

"This place has positive reviews, so I can only assume they struggle with the busier summer season and standards slip. Despite the places with lovely sea views offering vegan menus, we chose Gianni's, on a back street in town, due to the reviews. We tried to book ahead but the line was engaged (5 times), so we instead tried walking in for an early meal at 6pm. We were shown to a table and 3 menus were presented one showing specials, the other two a folder containing the main menu, a meat menu and the drinks menus. There was a line on the main menu stating that the vegan menu should be requested. The table next to us had new customers brought to it but despite being right next to us, we couldn't get the staff's attention to request the vegan menu. Eventually someone came over asking if we were ready to order and we were finally able to request the menu. One vegan menu was brought to us and we ordered cautiously, given that the table who came in after us already had their starter and it was huge. Depressingly, that menu stated that vegan wines were available, which is what I'd have preferred if we didn't have the beers we'd ordered in the apparent absence of vegan wines. We ordered the foccacia with olive oil and balsamic to share. Two plates were brought to us. They were dirty and greasy. We requested clean plates and the waiter brought two more plates that were also greasy. Clean plates were provided on the 3rd attempt. The olive oil and balsamic are presented in bottles. These are evidently not wiped between customers as both bottles were greasy. The foccacia arrived and was simply the worst I've had. It was dry and stodgy, perhaps made a couple of days before or perhaps even earlier and frozen. We left most of it. The pizza was huge but the toppings had amalgamated into an emulsion like slop, causing the thin base to taste like uncooked dough. The chips were fine, as was the basic side salad. We didn't order dessert after the meal we'd had. The staff are mainly very young people with no one directing them, so they spent most of the time standing in the doorways chatting. They knew to serve the food and clear the tables but they clearly have had little to no customer service training and were not checking the customers had what they needed and were happy. This place is inexpensive and the portions are large, but rather than authentic Italian food, we were left with a sense of quantity over quality."

"I have visited this venue on three occasions and I have tried my best to enjoy the food, service and the atmosphere. On paper it should be a fantastic location however my last visit showed how bad the service really was. We waited 20 minutes to be served what to drink it took 10-15 minutes to bring our drinks over and after taking our order it took nearly 50 minutes to bring our food over. I really don 't like to slam local businesses down but taking nearly an hour to serve food to 4 people is really bad, the service was not greeted to how was you meal nor did they asked if we wanted more drinks during our meal, simple things to please customer service and I really do think this was a one off as there wasn 't an experience staff member in sight. I just hope that on my next visit it will be a 5 star. As I said I really want to like this venue as it in a nice village it has great features with the pub and it will take simple steps to improve the quality of service. "This restaurant just didn’t impress me. My wife and I arrived at the bustling Casa Nostra to a warm welcome from the captain himself, who even remembered our names from our October reservation. We were seated at a main table right near the kitchen, which I personally enjoy as it allows me to see the chefs at work. The starters arrived much faster than I expected, considering how busy the place was. The wine was poured, and we savored each bite of the fantastic, fresh, and satisfying food that was served to us. The tiramisu was exceptional and left me wanting more. I can't express enough how wonderful this place is, and a huge thank you to all the staff for such a memorable meal!"
