"We (family of four with a teen pre-teen are staying in Childswickham just outside Broadway for a weeks holiday so thought we’d try the Childswickham Inn Brasserie as we could walk there through the pretty village, it has great reviews and it’s dog friendly. We booked for a Friday evening and were given our choice of tables in the very pretty garden area. Everything about the place is wonderful. The pub itself is a lovely country style inn with a very warm welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor area is beautiful with a lit pergola under canvas canopies and very comfortable chairs and roomy tables. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful and made a fuss of our two Labradors. The food was superb. Honestly some of the best traditional-but-next-level pub fare we’ve ever had. I had the pie of the day which was lamb, husband had Cumberland sausages and the kids had burgers. All completely homemade, served quickly, fresh piping hot and with generous portions. Husband suffered from extreme pie envy when he tasted my dish! We couldn’t resist the puds so opted for sticky toffee puddings and chocolate brownie. Again, all homemade, generously portioned and utterly delicious. The food was so good we decided to spend our final meal here and opted for Sunday lunch. We all had sirloin of beef which were served with the best (and biggest! Yorkshire puddings we’ve ever had. We’re from Yorkshire and we know a perfect Yorkie when we see (and taste one and these deserve the highest praise. The beef was perfectly cooked, thickly cut and it melted in the mouth. It was served with a generous portion of roast potatoes, cheesy leeks (a personal favourite! , a selection of perfectly cooked veg lovely rich gravy. Desserts were equally fabulous. Genuinely up there with the best food we’ve ever eaten and exceptionally good value. I just wish it was closer to home as we’d be returning constantly! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Perfect food, wonderful service, lovely ambience and surroundings and great value, more than deserving of five stars. Thank you for two wonderful visits, you were a highlight of our holiday!"

"I made the reservation on open table and when I arrived they didn’t have my reservation even as I had requested it was for a surprise birthday lunch. They didn’t give the celebrant a little cake or something as other restaurants do. Otherwise, the food was excellent! Great value for money and the ambience was great. I went with 2 kids under 3years and we were the noisiest, very quiet and enjoyable. They could do better with their reservations and overall service but I will recommend it and will visit again maybe not for special occasions."

"We have been eating at this restaurant for a number of years and it’s such a great find. We are a half Persian family and so grew up with Persian stews and kebabs eaten both at home or in restaurants in London and of all the Persian restaurants we’d tried, the kebabs and hospitality at this place are the best. No ifs, no buts. It really feels like we’re eating at a friends house because there’s so much care and attention in both the food and the service. It tastes just like my aunty’s delicious food when she visited from Iran I’m baffled that others can say it’s not authentic on here when they’ve not grown up with Iranian food.Last night I brought some friends to try, many had never tried Persian food before and were blown away. The only disappointment was that they couldn’t finish their plates because they’d ate too much of the starters (not a bad problem to have! All of the food was delicious from the kashke badamjan to the joojeh kebab koobideh. Each time we visit, Ali always says to call in advance if there’s any items not on the menu we’d like them to cook you just don’t get that level of attention at other places.Thank you for hosting my friends and I last night and every other time we’ve been to your restaurant with family friends. We drive an hour each time from Maidstone/the Isle of Sheppey to come and we wouldn’t bother making the trip if it wasn’t worth it each time. "If you are a gin lover and like smoked meats you need come here! Having prebooked a table we were taken up stairs and provided a menu. Luckily we were sat right under the specials board from that I instantly chose the fried haggis and then a ox cheek dish to follow. I also decided to sample a fire side cocktail which packed a punch of tequila. The fried haggis was sublime with it poached egg and was the perfect amount for a starter. Cream spinach was ordered to accompany my ox cheeks which turned out to be so tender! However it was so rich with the red wine sauce and mash that i struggled to finish. To complete the meal I opened the gin menu which was extensive. My friend had one that changed colour where I got a sake based one. Each one was carefully presented with delicate fruits .. Overall a very lovely place and a must to attend to in St Ives"

"had a great night stay here. the rooms have everything they need and love the fact that, although they do not do the breakfast, they receive fresh milk and müsli provided in their room. they are the little things that make a big difference! all staff were friendly and helpful. we also had a meal that was delicious. I had scallops as main and nabebie had sampi and we had pizzas for lunch the next day. would absolutely recommend to stay here and eat. Fab atmosphere with a beautiful log fire"

"We had a table booked for a lunchtime meal to celebrate our Wedding anniversary with our 2 children and we weren't disappointed. We were able to choose our own table and our drinks order was taken immediately. We also ordered 2 starters to share which were the Teriyaki Beef Vegetable Spring Roll and the Wild Mushroom Tortellini. Oh my days both dishes were absolutely delicious and we highly recommend.. For our mains we ordered two 10oz Rump Steaks, the Chicken Schnitzel with a Tomato Mascapone Sauce and the 10oz Rump Steak with half a rack of BBQ Ribs.. For dessert, the Rocky Road Cheesecake was ordered and all meals were ample and delicious. All meals were filling, delicious and were delivered in the appropriate time frame. We were so happy with the service and will definitely go back and try some of the other menu options."

"I would have given the food 4 stars and our waitress provided excellent service, but I am giving this restaurant a 1-star review due to their strange 'sea view' seating policy. My husband and I came here for lunch and were told there were no sea view tables available because they were all booked. However, I noticed that these tables remained empty throughout our meal. When I questioned this, I was told that customers could not be moved once seated because it would inconvenience the staff. The waitress later claimed that the tables were actually booked for later, contradicting her previous statement. This experience was confusing and frustrating, and we will not be returning in the future."

"Stayed at the LHR Marriott for a night and wanted to try some local food. I had the garlic/chili shrimp as an appetizer and the lamb/mint burger as my entree. Both were super delicious and a great value for the taste and portion. I wanted to get in/out quickly so chose to order the food at the bar along with a beer. Doing this was a bit cumbersome as you can’t order food directly at the bar. There was a separate station where you placed your order. Thankfully the food was delivered to the bar and I was able to pay at the bar also. If you’re in town and near LHR airport, give this place a try."

"With no water in our village due to an accident and damaged pipeline, cooking at home wasn't so appealing so we headed off to our favourite bar and restaurant, the Corner House. The place was busy and technically full as many people had the same idea, but the staff rallied round to make room for us and despite them being run off their feet, the food and service was still absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Luke and the rest of the staff, you really pulled it out of the bag... and this is exactly why we go back there time and time again. "The roast lamb dish I had at this restaurant was the most disappointing meal I have ever experienced dining out. The quality of the broccoli was poor, as it was beginning to spoil and was extremely hard. The frozen roast potatoes and meat were also unpleasant, being tough and difficult to chew. The entire table of diners was left feeling let down by the underwhelming meal. The appearance of the food did not even look appetizing. Additionally, the table we were seated at was not properly cleaned beforehand and showed signs of wear and tear. Despite these shortcomings, the staff members were polite and friendly. "We hadn't visited this restaurant in a few years due to various reasons, but I'm so glad we decided to go back today. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and he was very friendly and pleasant. He even made an adjustment to my husband's meal without us having to ask, and he double-checked our order, which was much appreciated. The food arrived within 10-15 minutes and was piping hot, not lukewarm like some other places we've been to. I had one of the best curries I've ever tasted, packed with chicken and bursting with flavor. They also offer a great selection of alcohol-free beverages, which is a refreshing change from the usual fruit juices and sodas you find elsewhere. This emphasis on quality extends to the food as well. The atmosphere was relaxed, especially since we went in the late afternoon when it wasn't too busy. Overall, it's an excellent choice if you're looking to enjoy a leisurely couple of hours, and we highly recommend it for both couples and families."

"What a Gem of a find !!! "Older waiter/manager rude and unwelcoming. Some of the other waiting staff stressy and abrupt. Didn't feel relaxed with the way they carried on. The female waiting staff were much better than the male waiting staff. Some of the food, including mine was good, some of the other guests food not well-presented and not that good. My partner had venison. Not a good flavour and tough. I expect all meals to be a great standard in a restaurant. That's your business and with something like this should be a passion. As paying customers we should expect a good standard of service and everything to be good quality, not to have sub-standard and rude attitude (from some of you). We are paying your wages. I don't go out and eat that often, so when I do its a shame that the evening is shadowed by this. I won't be going again. I have been to better places that are not so pricey but the all the food was delicious and the staff absolutely lovely. Not so here. By the way, you should get some proper hand paper towel for your dispenser in the bathroom because what was in there was like cheap toilet paper. Oh and don't overbook if you can't handle the numbers. I think your reputation will start to suffer."

"The restaurant has a lovely ambience. Although the dress code is strictly smart casual, I am not sure how enforced it is as I saw a man in shorts and slippers dining two tables away. The fine dining Indian food cooked here is prepped well and tastes fine. If you are looking for a good food with a refined dining experience, it will not disappoint. As far as looking for Indian cuisine pushed to its highest levels of sublime taste and tantalising the senses, it never reaches those heights so that is why it is just okay for me. "This is restaurant that in the past my family has visited and thoroughly enjoyed which lead them to taking me and my partner there for my 40th birthday celebrations. From the beginning they claimed to not have our booking even though we had electronic evidence of it being made. We struggled to get the attention of the barman to get a drink as we had to wait for our table. When at table we found the waiter service to be very slow throughout our visit even as the restaurant got quiet with only a few patrons left. Also the food provided was below standard such chips under cooked, salmon undercooked, undercooked lamb, cold peas etc and wrong items provided such as asking for tap water and being provided with mineral water, also a smashed burger was ordered and a normal burger was provided. At the end of the service we ordered another round of drinks and they weren’t provided as ordered as we waited more than 15-20 mins for it so decided to get bill too see they had been added which then added around £20 to bill. Luckily we noticed and got our money back. As it was a 40th birthday celebration my family provided 40 candle for staff to then replace with their own high burning candle which nearly caught light shade at table. This was a poor service for a Saturday night the staff seemed distracted and unorganised throughout and unable to cope with the amount of customers. I do not think I will attend in future as feel this dampened our celebration"
