"We celebrated an intimate birthday dinner here yesterday, and were quite impressed with the experience. The food tasted amazing! I had the chicken schnitzel parmigiana I'm not generally a fan of schnitzels as I think they all taste the same, but I gave this one a chance and it knocked it out of the park. Turns out, adding a layer of jamon serrano, some melted cheese on top, and a generous serving of tomato ragu can really make even a piece of chicken shine. My partner had the lamb shank and he cleaned the plate so I guess it was alright : The dessert were impressive, too the brownie was pure decadence. All in all, Chez nous won us over with the pleasant atmosphere, generous portions and careful presentation we will definitely be back. We need more places like this in Sale!"

"We ordered takeaway, which is usually quite good, but tonight we were disappointed. We ordered a pasta dish that was advertised to have "steak strips," but when it arrived, it contained only about five tiny cubes of steak. To make matters worse, they also forgot one of our portions of chips. Every other experience we've had has been great, but tonight was not acceptable. Service was delivery."

"Hi, We went there after a long walk in Glennifer Braes. We were all ready for our lunch. The Inn had been recommended as a place to have fiss. h finger burgers... all those who had it said it lived up to its reputation. The mushroom toastada was lovely and presented well. THe genral decor was themed around the highland cows... which made interesting talking point. I would recommend it as the staff were willing to go that slightly extra mile to accommodate dietry needs request. Definitely recommend it. "Very disappointed and will NEVER be returning. Used to class here as my local however after todays experience I will never be returning. Firstly I ordered a beef and gravy sandwich to be told they haven’t got sandwiches on today and we were asked had anyone informed us of this which they hadn’t. Secondly when my boyfriend went to place his order the waitress had decided to leave the table. I then had no choice but to order the gammon which I asked to have fries with. My partner ordered pork loin and they did not ask what he would like with that I.e mash chips potatoes. No longer having placed our order I heard someone else place an order at the bar asking for a sandwich and to be told that’s fine. Then the waitress came over to our table to be told they had no mash to go with the pork but we never had an option. Anyways when my meal came out the waitress asked who’s the steak and veg were baring in mind she was holding gammon (she hadn’t a clue) what she was handing out and it came with homemade chips which I did not request as I requested fries. The fries then came out soaking with grease and tasted heavily like grease too the pot they were served in also had a pool of grease at the bottom.Disappointed"

"our visit was a casual lunch in the bank holiday on Monday. we enjoyed a large bottle of French wine next to some of the best food I had for one. I chose the plowers with a weighty price tag. may I say it was venerable and probably worth more. also a homemade burger with a Brioche neck came and was well received. we had unusual desserts that were homemade and complex and a great finish to our meal. we were greeted at the arrival and generally very well sought. Top brands. look forward to the next time. I'm eager to go back and be a nice change like home, instead of driving too breast."

"Went for Sunday roast and ordered the beef I can safely say I had the WORST beef in my life. It was so difficult to cut into and so chewy and extremely difficult to swallow it was clearly not rested properly and the meat was not cut in the correct way. We barely touched the meat and asked if it was possible to have it cooked more to which the waiter said no sorry as its already on your plate To pay almost £100 for our family roast was disappointing. No discount on the bill was offered which seemed ridiculous as our plates were taken from the table all with full slices of untouched beef. If you 're looking for a good Sunday roast... "Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend."

"My husband and I were heading to Bathgate on Friday night for a show and looking for somewhere close by to eat beforehand, after a quick google search Chenzo's appeared as an option, reading the reviews etc we went ahead and booked and we are so glad we did! The reviews certainly live up to expectations. The owner and his wife were lovely and very attentive, with the time we arrived we were the only table in the restaurant but the atmosphere was so nice that didn't bother us. The food was amazing! We really should have stopped after our starter and main but the thought of delicious homemade dessert left us no option but to try I am so glad we did! We left absolutely stuffed but it was worth it when the food tasted as good as it did authentic homemade Italian cuisine that we will definitely consider making the 40 minute trip back to Uphall for again!"

"We were lucky to get a table this evening. Was drawn in by the Christmas lights and decorations and not disappointed. Such a warm and cosy atmosphere. The place was busy and yet we felt welcomed, the staff going the extra mile to make us feel welcomed and not just another table to serve. Quick service and we ordered a few extras after the main order which came very swiftly. Great food, keen to try more on the menu on the next visit. "We visited The Chum in October for the first time in a long time (previous visits had been disappointing). It all started so well, nice atmosphere, lots of families in but it wasn 't packed. Hubby had fish and chips and I had the smoked haddock with cheese topping and a portion of chips. Food was really very nice I would have still been hungry if I hadn 't ordered the chips though. Our one issue was that part way through our meal we wanted to order some more drinks. Asked the waitress and were told we had to order at the bar. What???? Who wants to get up part way through a meal to order drinks for goodness sake? It wasn 't over busy the night we went but how on earth would this system work when it is busy with queues at the bar to order drinks and/or to order food? Can you imagine a group of people on a busy night mid way through their meals being expected to go to the bar to get more drinks. Absolutely ridiculous. So we didn 't get more drinks, we didn 't order the pudding that we had intended on having, we came home and opened a bottle of wine instead. We didn 't leave a service tip as other than the food being delivered to our table there wasn 't any other 'service '. Was this a 'one off ' or is the norm now? If so, we won 't be coming back I 'm afraid and in theory this is our local pub that we should be visiting regularly. Very disappointed."

"My wife and were fortunate enough to get a table without a reservation for their Sunday roast beef and roast lamb dinners. In every way these meals surpassed our expectations; the meat was cooked to perfection and the generous selection of vegetables retained their firmness and distinct flavours. My spouse began her meal with a salad that was similarly very fresh and well balanced . The service was professional yet appropriately friendly. And, when we received our bill I was surprised with how very reasonable it was. I would not hesitate to go back and sample their other offerings given the opportunity ."

"The exterior was really historical because it used to be an old church. We didn't make a reservation but because it was still early before dinner they accommodate us. "it is a warm welcoming pub in a light location, with free parking on the street, including disabled parking. decoration is a mix of traditional and modern, with outside seats, various parts of the pub give different atmosphere, great place to come together for every occasion. half the type of pub has steps that have warn stickers and labels, but still a little dangerous with drinks and with children and /or older, but there are many pills and seats before u enter the stage areas. toilets are above, not sure whether any disabled toilets below? good and drinks menus are decent, big teller and tasty eating, have a series of everything for all, including vegan menu, as I don't vegan, so can not comment on the menu and eat. very little staff in the night we went (service) the waitress was really friendly, polite helpful and well maintained for all our needs. pub in these days closes quite early, we were told in 2130, but we stayed until 2200, since it was quite a big one together at night outside. one of the most important things is a dog friendly pub, has water dishes and cookies for dogs. overall it is a beautiful pub"

"Highly recommend The Ship. My Husband and I haven't been to the restaurant in awhile and we were happy we tried it again. We dined at the restaurant after attending a wake on Tuesday night and were shocked at the inexpensive prices for dinner for 2 it included a bottle of wine, salad, entrée and dessert all for $40.00. More importantly, the food was very good and we plan to dine there in the future."

"We went to have our Sunday dinner at Olivers today. We often go there for food or the sister pub the Lion in Brinsley. This is hands down one of the best roast dinners you will have. We've been coming here for years now for the food but also for the live entertainment and drinks. They work really hard to provide a broad spectrum of entertainment and it's always a great night out at the weekend. The bar staff are great and today we were served by a really lovely lady who couldn't have been more friendly. Just as an extra today we ate for free. We live local and our house had been damaged by the flood. The owner not only came and helped us local residents with our homes but then fed us all for free, which speaks to the kind of people who run Oliver's. So if you want a beautiful meal friendly staff and a real community feel with people who are passionate about what they do, then this is the place for you. Top tip, try the pork belly bites. You won't be disappointed."

"The visit went well. It was disappointing that we didn’t get a welcome and that the bar stuff were more interested in cleaning rather than saying hello, but nonetheless, we got seated quickly. We ordered drinks, which came promptly and we had two roast dinners. The food was of good quality and the portion size was ok. The taste was good and I was happy with the selection of food I had, although some more vegetables would have been nice. I asked for another Bellini after my meal and the waitress forgot to bring it but they managed to bring my friend’s coffee and pudding, which was 1 mouthful of cheesecake! That definitely wasn’t worth the price it was charged at. I was also annoyed to see my second Bellini had been put on the bill, despite not receiving it due to the waitress forgetting (meaning I was sat without a drink whilst my friend had a coffee and cake). Overall, there’s room for improvement with this place."
