"So to start with me ordered the mackerel, which was probably my own fault to not understand the menu correctly when it arrived, it looked like a glass of paralyzed aals, very inconspicuous, but anyway I didn't have it to my taste though that could be just a question of personal taste (I'm not a fussy eater, but it was beyond me) so I sent it back. No alternative or refund offered. I then waited an hour for my main course (Pork-Jowl), which is my interpretation is 50% pork 50% fat, again, when it was served, it was totally inedible, I was literally served 3 pieces fat with a piece of pork cracking up. No meat. Again I returned my food and said I wouldn't pay it. My men's food was also taken away to keep warm while an alternative was prepared. Then I was finally served the beef stew who was good, but was too salty, my men's food was returned until it had dried quite a lot. I ordered a slim tonic and was brought full of fat, at this time I could not be harassed, so I drank it anyway. So... we booked a table for 8 o'clock and didn't eat until 10 o'clock. Luckily we had a good night because the food and service was so bad that we saw the humor in it and had a good laugh... reminded of fawlty towers, but for £80 it was a very disappointing experience. I mentioned it at check-out, but I did not offer compensation. Also the ambience was pampered for us by the fact that several diners had dogs that cracked all night, I have no problem with people who take their dogs for dinner, but I think owners should keep their pets under control and if they don't, then it is really to intervene to the restaurant. What didn't happen. All in all a very disappointing experience and we will not return"

"a few weeks ago I visited a room in the west end with a friend I worked years ago. in an attempt to catch up with people before the summer, she whispers all away to exotic beaches, I went to dinner with another colleague from these days in a room in leith a few weeks later. a room in leith was over the road of mithas, in a charming building with a ponton on the water. her move takes her to larger spaces and should not be difficult to find for all those familiar with the old spatialities. teuchters landing, which had the front of the building before, while a room in leith was on the back, will fill the place first curs I am a bit of a fan of french cooking and raised in sweden, I am not afraid, uncooked meat. So, when I see steak tartars on the menu, I command it. pretty much every time. the steaktare in a room in leith is already mixed, but keeps the dinge straight and simple. it is a luscious mix of egg yolk, good bark, sniff, tiny cubes of red sniffing and capern. I tried to eat it slowly to really enjoy every morsel, but it was difficult. it was just so good! my colleague, who is not a fan of red meat, had makrelenmousse and makrelenfilet. the mousse was just as good as the Arbroath-Smokie-Paté, which I tried in the west end in a room, and the filet was boiled exactly right. main course because I had raw red meat to begin, I decided to fish for my main. picking a meal from a menu is easy to get away and have all their favourites. I try to get a kind of balance (although I often end up with fish and fish). there were several options, including a top mosquito, and the lemon sole with scallops were tempting, but I decided to the best filet with courgettes, sonnenblush tomaten and a mint and yogurt dressing. coley has come back in the last few years and it is interesting – not to mention the environment – to see a greater variety of fish on the island. in leith they expect interesting fishing on the menu and a room in leith disappointed not. the spicy cousin worked well and a follow-on from my starter. the tomatoes were spicy and the dressing refreshment: the dish had a fleshy feeling without being too full. my companion gave me an amusing pass through each of the courts and what she liked and what she did not. one of the things I really enjoy eating with friends is what I learn about them and their beloved and unloved. it is not only c, which is not interested in cauliflower. at the end she went for vegetarian haggis, butternut quess and cherry bsenbridie with salsify, mushrooms, red wine reduction and mandelpesto. that is a lot of ingredients, but they came into a hearty and satisfying court. it was really pretty. the baked was flocky and crispy and the mandel and basilikum pesto was a nice note. dessert I was very excited when I saw sense and butter pudding on the menu. what a beautiful idea! it was also presented very nicely, with the Scone torch fluffy and soft, while the rest of the scone was layered with juicy apple and zimt. it was a delicious island in a sea of calvados custard. the chocolate friese was more controlled than the name could let them believe. a small chocolate muffin, chocolate cream bead and cardamom parfait made for an elegant and balanced plate. a room in leith, like a room in the west end, is a great place to catch up with friends and have a good meal. there is a great selection of interesting meat and fish dishes, and this is a chain that takes some time to think interesting vegetarian options. a room in leith fish plate, a big firm of fish, I want to come back because for. there is an interesting mix of cold and warm seafood and while there is no lobster, there is salsa verde to jazz her furthest and salmon kebab. with the outside space it is also a great place to spend a afternoon. I can see that I go to the lunch of a weekning to a room and walk over the road to teuchters landing to sit on the ponton to enjoy the sun and a glass limonade."
