"We were pleased to find this place, and the food was great, the service warm and welcoming, with a decent wine list. But we won 't be back. Our starters mozzarella in carrozza, and sea scallops with pancetta, were superb, and portions were much larger than we 'd expected! We both had the 'special ' lemon sole, which was perfect. No space for desserts. We would 've stayed for coffee and grappas, but by that time, we 'd looked up the meaning of the word figa . I can 't give it, here you 'll have to look it up for yourselves. Just to say, there 's no pun, no witty wordplay; it 's simply a boorish and offensive term for part of a woman 's body. I 'd suggest a rebranding fast."

"Booked online last minute, no problem at all. Was on the busier side but seemed to be plenty of staff and everyone was in a good mood. Food was really nice, we normally go to pizza express and were surprised by the range of options. Only issue we ran into was the ordering via mobile rather than a person as it didn't seem to want to work but the waiter happily did it for us on his tablet. 9 year old daughter has asked that we go again when we're next somewhere with an Ask. Thanks. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free (non-gluten) pizza and pasta options available as well as vegan cheeses and gelatos. Kid-friendliness: Lots of options, our daughter loved the pasta dish and the bread sticks woth tomato dipping sauce. Wheelchair accessibility: Lift from car parking to entrance, and all flat with large doors."

"We have visited this ASK restaurant several times now and each visit has been wonderful. I arrived with a friend who eats meat, but we decided to share the vegan sides (garlic bread, side salad, and roast potatoes) and I enjoyed the spaghetti al pomodoro without mozzarella, which was delicious. We also shared the blood orange and chocolate tart. We will definitely be returning."

"My family and I dined at this restaurant on Saturday, July 28th. We had 6 adults, a five-year-old, and a baby with us. This restaurant is local to us and we are familiar with it. It has a warm family atmosphere that is busy but not overly loud, with friendly staff who are attentive and cheerful without being pushy. The service is good even when it's busy, and the owner is very hands-on and greets everyone. We enjoyed a delicious rioja wine, along with tasty house wines. The starters, pizzas, and pasta were excellent and reasonably priced. The mains and specials, on the other hand, were a bit overpriced and the portions were small, although flavorful. Two in our group found them disappointing. Our pizza, the Anacapri, was a bit lackluster, undercooked, and bland, which is unusual as they are usually good. Nonetheless, it didn't ruin our evening, and we all had a good time, especially the kids. The staff didn't mind the children walking about and they even received special attention."

"I've never walked out of a restaurant before, and I've been to quite a few! Unfortunately, the food was terrible; there was no option for the pasta I wanted, not even the ones listed on the menu. When my meal finally arrived, it was cold, and all dishes had the same pasta with barely any sauce. I sent it back, but it came back microwaved, causing whatever sauce was there to vanish completely! "A busy night because of a music gig nearby and I expect it caused extra pressure in the kitchen. Our starters arrived at very different times, but with an apology. My partners pasta was divine, as was the garlic bread and beetroot and goat cheese balls with chilli dip. Sadly my main was on a stone cold plate with cold broccoli and a little pot of cold sauce. The ‘roast’ baby potatoes were simply boiled new potatoes which had been flattened on a pan to blacken and burn them. Worst still they definitely tasted of fish, I expect that the same grill/implements were used for both. However the actual chicken Milinase was tender, crisp on the outside and very tasty. We had an issue with dessert. We followed the instructions and used the QR code to book the 2 desserts. To save time I paid the bill and added the tip. Unfortunately this closed our tables account and the kitchen had no record of the order. The app does not give you any chance to get a receipt and I was unable to easily prove we had paid. Except my Apple pay said that £102 had been deducted from my account. Eventually, while we were getting the issue sorted another waiter arrived with the missing desserts. I think the QR code idea is fabulous but it was a bit glitchy tonight."

"After a difficult start not having our online booking (although I had the confirmation e-mail) the staff were excellent and managed to find us a lovely table although the restaurant was very busy. The service was excellent and the new menu since the last time we were there) was very good. My lobster and prawn pasta was excellent with just the right amount of spice. "Our group of 5 visited Cafe Venice for the first time after attending an England rugby match at Twickenham Stadium. It's a 20-minute walk from there, so not much different than a venue in Twickenham town center. I made a telephone booking about 10 days before our visit and clarified that on rugby days, they offer a restricted menu at lunchtime but a full menu in the evenings. Note that there is a good specials menu in addition to the extensive menu on the website. We had booked for 6:30 pm, and the restaurant was busy with many other customers who had also been to the rugby match. We received a warm welcome, and the service throughout was friendly and efficient. For starters, we had dough balls, mushrooms, mussels, calamari, and whitebait. For mains, we had carbonara, calzone, and sea bass fillets, all served with salad or chips. The portions were generous and very tasty, and the food and wine were reasonably priced. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Cafe Venice and will definitely be returning."

"First time I've had or even heard of ASK Italian but glad I found out. I did want a cheeky Nandos but the queue was ridiculous and ASK had a few tables and no queue... Sat and seen to pretty quickly and given a free shot of lemonade while we pondered over the menu and asked if every course was okay and attentive to our drinks when they were empty. We had a really lovely woman who served us. Starter: calamari delicious, light, fluffy coating on the outside with just the right amount of sauce to dip in to. Arancini balls (wife's) where very tasty too. Main: calzone absolutely packed with hot delicious meats and sauce. Not like a lot of places where you get 25% filling and 75% dough. Dessert: baked chocolate gnocchi I don't have much of a sweet tooth but this was absolutely without a doubt, one of my favourite desserts I've ever had!! The pastry was hot/warm/fresh, dipped into chocolate and then with a bite you find this smooth warm chocolate inside... I would go back for this alone! But while I'm there I'd definitely have it all again. Cant fault the food or the service one bit. Gotta give it 4* purely because it's a family place and there's young humans about who can be a bit loud and distracting. Also found the seating functional and not comfy for a sit down meal."

"Is this part of the Al Forno chain or is it a franchise? If so it does not compare to the other Al Forno restaurants. Food was ok but presentation was poor. It was empty and the tables were dirty. Considering it was not busy service is minimal, the button to call works but this takes away from the experience there is no quality check and no up-selling took place. For that reason value for money is poor although not really expensive. A few people allowed of the street to sit and smoke not sure if anything was ordered this gives it a low end feel. Not as portrayed on your website."

"Absolutely delicious food, good service and nice atmosphere. I had a Mushroom Risotto and it was soo tasty. I was surprised how fast the food came, usually there’s always a long wait for the delicious dishes. We sat in the garden and the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing. The service was also great, the waitress was very professional, friendly and kept running in and out to please me and the other customer’s requirements. "at the arrival in ask on December 30, the personal had no recording about my online booking, although I was required with a phone call before the day to confirm a high chair. my friends and I found the personal unsympathetic to our preferences and made us feel as if the fault was our fault instead of opentable or ask. Even an apology at the time would have softened our disappointment, but instead the personal seemed rude and unfriendly. there was no place to sit down for lunch, although I had made a booking so we were forced to go in the hope that we could find somewhere to eat. prezzo in marlborough managed to find us a table and we were really impressed by the friendly and accommodating staff. a sharp contrast to our experience with the personal at ask. we had traveled some distances to meet in marlborough for a birthday dinner and unfortunately we left ask frustrated at the lack of friendly reception in the restaurant. due to this unacceptable experience I will not use open table again for bookings and we will not return to ask in marlborough."

"Firstly I would like to say that this restaurant has just been refurbished, and it didn’t feel like an Italian restaurant, more like a cafe at the beach somewhere! It felt very sparse and most Italian restaurants I e been to have proper tablecloths on the table but these were plastic and I noticed one table it was tapped up underneath, in my opinion it needs to be made more warmly and have more of a family feel. The food was really nice,although I would advise anyone to make sure they double check their order as I chose chicken in a sauce really nice which came with vegetables but I also asked for a separate portion of potatoes, when it arrived I just had chicken with a few cut up potatoes and a very very small garnish of salad ! I mentioned this to the waitress who had taken our order and she said I know but the chef had given you extra salad !! Sorry but salad is not vegetables , it clearly said on the menu it came with vegetables. Having said about the above issue, the meals we all had were nice and the staff gave us a very warm welcome and because of the blip they said we could have a free pudding…..not sure if we all did or it was just mine but I never see the bill as we were treated to this. To finish the evening off we were given a lovely limoncello shot. We would definitely go back. Thankyou for a lovely evening in your restaurant"
