"Booked pre theatre dinner and it was far too busy for the poor waiting staff to cope. No time to get our dessert. Waited 45 mins for main course. Asked for no bacon in Caesar salad and it arrived with lettuce, bacon and chicken with dressing. Very expensive for a bowl of lettuce and couldn’t eat the bacon. Partner had fish and no complaints there. Didn’t complain to the poor waitress as it wasn’t her fault at all. Poor management and squeezing in far too many tables before theatre. We did get an apology but I’m sure every table got that. Wouldn’t put me off going again just not for a pre theatre dinner as they are full to capacity."

"I went to this restaurant after the theater and found the staff and atmosphere to be very pleasant. The soundtrack was good and added to the ambiance. The menu was appealing with a wide selection of dishes to choose from. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. The desserts were fabulous with a good variety to choose from. The staff were friendly, helpful, and provided quick and polite service. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the West End!"

"The waitress who took our order was great. The one who came to take our plates away didn't say anything, smile or make eye contact. I mentioned it to my husband and I think the original waitress overheard as she disappeared and shortly after, the second one came back with a smile and offered the dessert menu. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We couldn't believe it when the staff started to do a deep clean of the furniture, dragging chairs out etc. Surely this should be done when there are no customers? The food was excellent though."

"we had a great time in cru, my birthday contract, which was amazing eating, the personal was excellent and attentive, I loved the white wine, best I had, I like white and often have hardships to get a medium, not dry. that was delicious and really perfect for me. it was very cool in the restaurant, so was also comfortable for me as the temperature was unusually high outside. we will definitely come back and tell friends about it."

"Bella Italia was fully booked, so we came across this wonderful family run Italian restaurant. Several Italian customers came and went, which told volumes as the authenticity of the place. Starters came out quickly and wolfed down by our party, and although we had to wait a little while for our mains, every dish was full of flavour, and the homemade pasta was full of body and taste. When we come back to Blackpool, we will definitely call in again."

"La Galleria Italian restaurant never fails to impress with its authentic culinary offerings. Their new pizza oven, a recent addition, has elevated their already delectable pizza game. Each slice now boasts a perfectly crispy crust with a smoky undertone, reminiscent of traditional Italian pizzerias. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a genuine Italian dining experience. "This place has positive reviews, so I can only assume they struggle with the busier summer season and standards slip. Despite the places with lovely sea views offering vegan menus, we chose Gianni's, on a back street in town, due to the reviews. We tried to book ahead but the line was engaged (5 times), so we instead tried walking in for an early meal at 6pm. We were shown to a table and 3 menus were presented one showing specials, the other two a folder containing the main menu, a meat menu and the drinks menus. There was a line on the main menu stating that the vegan menu should be requested. The table next to us had new customers brought to it but despite being right next to us, we couldn't get the staff's attention to request the vegan menu. Eventually someone came over asking if we were ready to order and we were finally able to request the menu. One vegan menu was brought to us and we ordered cautiously, given that the table who came in after us already had their starter and it was huge. Depressingly, that menu stated that vegan wines were available, which is what I'd have preferred if we didn't have the beers we'd ordered in the apparent absence of vegan wines. We ordered the foccacia with olive oil and balsamic to share. Two plates were brought to us. They were dirty and greasy. We requested clean plates and the waiter brought two more plates that were also greasy. Clean plates were provided on the 3rd attempt. The olive oil and balsamic are presented in bottles. These are evidently not wiped between customers as both bottles were greasy. The foccacia arrived and was simply the worst I've had. It was dry and stodgy, perhaps made a couple of days before or perhaps even earlier and frozen. We left most of it. The pizza was huge but the toppings had amalgamated into an emulsion like slop, causing the thin base to taste like uncooked dough. The chips were fine, as was the basic side salad. We didn't order dessert after the meal we'd had. The staff are mainly very young people with no one directing them, so they spent most of the time standing in the doorways chatting. They knew to serve the food and clear the tables but they clearly have had little to no customer service training and were not checking the customers had what they needed and were happy. This place is inexpensive and the portions are large, but rather than authentic Italian food, we were left with a sense of quantity over quality."

"I visited san giovanni for birthday dinner with two friends and my baby. I was appalled by the way I was treated after I had asked how long our main courses would be (after an hour have waited) when I suggested to the waiter that we had to wait one, he replied, "No, you didn't ', I was completely withdrawn. then he continued in an extremely defensive (and aggressive) wise. I can say categorically that this spoils the rest of the meal. I've never seen anything like that in a restaurant. about eating, my friends enjoyed their carbonnara, but my pizza was loaded with fat cheese. does not want to visit again and would not read more. more"

"Took a chance a chance of not booking and it paid off. We arrived after 8 and got seated immediately. It was busy but the charm and atmosphere weren’t lost. Food was served quickly and tasted delicious. The restaurant has a traditional family atmosphere and we were made to feel welcome. It’s worth making sure you have room for the tiramisu or sticky toffee pudding, both home made and amazing…. I’d go as far as saying the sticky toffee pudding was better than any other rival I have tasted, it was very light and tasted great"

"We had a great meal at Don Alberto during an overnight stop in Holmes Chapel whilst travelling to the Lakes. Outstanding service was the highlight, the guys brought around water because it was such a warm evening and kept everyone topped up. Even offered to have our choice of music on since we were the last people dining in the evening. Meal itself was also brilliant, we had arancini starter and pizza and ravioli main. Couldn’t fault any of it came in good time and tasted brilliant. They also do a nice house lager and good wine (not super expensive for either). Very reasonably priced everything considered. Would definitely return if I was in the area again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"best authentic pizza in edinburgh. if they are looking for the best pizza outside italian – they avoid the “pizza house” chains (the jamies ersatz italian and the inflated egos and the consuming feeling of the service in the small Italian delicacies, the lothian road and hannover street are popping up (think about Macho-Italian versions of missrsham without the spirit) there is also a large selection of pizza alternatives: pasta etc. but as a veggie I tend to keep with what the jolly made famous. if they want a real bargain and must seriously fill with the day they can be a three cure lunch for £6.10 (rather choice including pizza, which must be the best worth in the city. a decent bottle of wine is about £15 – the house red/white served in carafes is considerably cheaper, what if it is not fussy, is okay. I trust no one who is sneaky over the jolly – and these people exist. okay, okay, the place is big, bright, busy, filled with kitsch, and may always seem so slightly chaotic – not fooling, the place runs like a well-oiled machine. but that’s why it’s so authentic italian – there are couples who sit next to big parties “in for the Playhouse”, local individual guides “in for their tea”, enthusiastic tourists and the occasional inebriated local politicians (it’s beguished that alex salmond gets his pizzas delivered from here, but I have actually not seen “the pie man” sitting on the space! a traitor in the jolly?"

"Visited with friends for an evening meal after hearing good reviews about the place. As usual I'll get the moans out of the way first, there are only 2 but unfortunately they are both about the meal.. I thought being an Italian restaurant having calamari would be a safe bet, wrong, it was so overcooked it was like chewing elastic bands. Mains, was a king prawn dish with pasta. It came with chips, unfortunately I was that hungry, I'd eaten half of it before I realised, the actual king prawn dish was lovely, but who has an Italian dish with chips? On the plus side, the place itself is nice, clean and comfortable, the staff and nice and friendly and the service was good, not having to wait long for your meal, there was also a good selection of wines available."

"yo motha. went to brasserie fish on mothers day and so could the bad performance of customers be overwhelmed, but it didn't seem full. arrived and first black brand was that they apparently did not have the ability to hang our moms and shals on a cold day, so they stayed around the chairs. much was on the menu, like the lobster bisque, and the seafood cahowder was recommended instead. when it came, it was currently a tomato soup with overcooked white fish in it. on a main course of spaghetti crab, which was served so thin in a sauce, it would probably have qualified as anorexic in a fashion house in mailand! the plus pretty unattended waiting...read more"

"disappoint. while the service and the wine were good, there were two disappointing aspekte to eat. the calzone was very tasteless and the ham in the inner was incredibly thin and mostly fat that I had to cut off. the tiramisu seemed to have no alcohol in it and was very dirty. we took two friends with us who visited the united kingdom and who made the experience even more disappointing. would not come back even though a small tipp left as the personal was great."
"We went for my birthday and wedding anniversary, which are the same day and on the night we went. At the time of booking I mentioned we were celebrating these. The lady on the phone told me she would set the table nice for us. The table was not set. We had starters which were just warm and then the main meal. Well what can I say about the lasagna. This was a bowl of mince meat with a quarter of a sheet of lasagna that look liked it been dropped and scraped back in. Again hardly warm. At no point did any one pop back to see if the meals were going well or if we wanted another drink. We had to keep getting their attention. We had to ask for clean cutlery after our starters. The whole experience from start to finish was appalling. My Daughter paid the bill whilst I went to the toilet as a surprise for myself and my Husband. The toilets were so dirty. When I asked to speak with the manager they were very dismissive. No responsibility was taken on their part for this appalling food and service. They spoilt our celebration."
