"we're lucky that malvarosa is local to us. we do not feel the need to go to the city center for occasions, as we always get great eating in a beautiful atmosphere when we go here. we went on Friday night as a family group of 4 people. everything was delicious. the sangria is particularly recommended. tapas was great and homemade brot fantastic. we're coming back!"

"If you 're looking for a typical curry house for a session meal before the rugby, you might be in for a surprise. You wouldn 't have guessed that Indian food could be like this, don 't believe me? just watch. There is a level of sophistication in the food that makes Atithi Restaurant one of the best dining restaurants for a popular cuisine this side of London. I 'm not going to make any excuses for those of you who find finer dining uncomfortable, when the food is this good you are going to have to just darn well put up with it. I have been to Atithi too many times to count, and every time I have put my blogging aside because I have been too impatient, wanting to actually enjoy my meal without having to document my experience. Yes, this has been an oversight on my part, but it is a testament to how good the food is here. It is dark inside, so you 'll find yourself in quite an intimate environment. Be sure to be asked to be seated further back inside the restaurant when you go, it can be a little drafty near the front in the winter months. Forget about the usual curry houses down Church Street and head one street back toward the station on York Street, opposite The Bear pub and you 'll find Atithi. When presented with the menu, steer away from the samosa 's, although they are nice you 'll be doing yourself a disfavour by not ordering the potato cake or the butterfly king prawns as a starter. The Paneer is also a favourite of mine. There 's a particularly interesting mains dish Goan Prawn curry with coconut and poppy seeds that is very tasty indeed. I for the most party enjoy the Galafi Handi, spring lamb cooked with onion, tomato and spices. You maybe be wondering how this compares to another Indian restaurant Tangawizi in East Twickenham. They are more flashy (which I like) and the food is also good there, however, I got fed up with being rushed through service. The are very much into 'turning their tables ', and to me, that is not dining. Having staff hovering around your table waiting for you to finish is pushing the envelope to far and this is what Tangiwizi do. So I love to go to Atithi whenever I need a good curry, we are also favourite of their delivery service, which is great for a night in and a treat every now and again. I understand that they maybe a little more on the wallet but if you really want to experience high quality Indian cuisine then its definitely a go. See my blog:"

"What a great place. Bought a voucher for for off food. You help yourself to salad bar and servers come to your table with meat options. Servings are small but this is a good thing as you have about or more meats to sample. Lamb was definitely one of my favourites so asked for another helping before we finished. You need to try the Cinnamon Pineapple, great course to finish on."

"The restaurant is a great spot to enjoy a meal and some drinks. I tried the vegetable lasagna with chips, which was served in a generous portion size. My friends ordered the fish and chips, which were also delicious. The restaurant tends to be busy during lunch and after work hours. The staff and atmosphere are very welcoming. You can easily open a bar tab if needed. The restaurant is spacious and has a new "Barwick Room" that can be reserved for private events and parties."

"I dined at Bills in Holborn last night with two friends. The pros: the chicken dumplings were nice, a good portion size, and very tasty. Our waitress for most of the night was very friendly. However, the negative was that we didn't have the same waitress all night, we ended up with about 4 different servers and none of them seemed to know where we were in our meal. For dessert, I had the lemon balm sorbet, which was nice when it wasn't frozen in the middle. My friend ordered a cup of tea for £2.50, but what came was a huge porcelain pot that was only one third filled with hot water and a tea bag that was hardly filled. When my friend addressed this issue to the waitress, she didn't really understand the problem and although she offered to add more tea bags, it took so long that my friend no longer wanted it. It was a Tuesday evening and not very busy, yet sometimes we couldn't find any wait staff. Despite not drinking the weak tea and sending it back, it was still included on the bill and we had to ask for it to be removed, which I think should have been automatic. Overall, it was disappointing as I usually enjoy dining at Bills, but this experience at the Holborn branch was my first and last."

"We decided to go out for an impromptu night after work and were blown away by the food! Although it's a small restaurant, it serves Indian cuisine that's far superior to any place I've visited in the city before. The dishes were exceptionally well-prepared. However, I found the older gentleman’s demeanor to be somewhat rude and abrupt, lacking in customer service. On the plus side, the prices were very reasonable, and we left feeling full, happy, and eager to return! The chicken turf and lamb bhuna were probably the best I've ever had, and the aloo was bursting with flavor! I’m looking forward to coming back in the new year! Thank you, Georg."

"The perfect stopover! I commute across the M4 frequently, and was forever fed up with the noisy services at Membury and Chieveley. Just 5-8 minutes from Junction 13, I can guarantee it's an infinitely, nicer, quieter and more tasty stopover! The staff are absolutely delightful, (as well as being situated in the beautiful village of Yattendon, if you fancy a walk around), deliciously well made coffee, cakes, sandwiches and cooked breakfasts, and plenty of easy parking. It's also dog friendly, vegan and gluten free friendly, and provides all alternative milks. Highly recommend!!!"

"The coffee is 5* by far the best coffee taste I have experienced. Having recently discovered the Swedish Oatly milk, I can without doubt say, this Cafe makes the best Cafe Late. Having said that, please be aware that this is cafe only offers about 7 seats inside and 8 seats outside. That is this is a very small space. Food I have not tried and therefore not able to rate. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their coffee. They seem to want to be there which makes the coffee even tastier... As opposed to some cafes where staff look unhappy and uncaring. The place is clean and offers a rest room, though this is not as clean as it should be."

"Myself and my girlfriend were staying in Mallaig and arrived late and were turned away from another rest as it was 20:00 we saw the lights on up at the Terrace so thought we would try it out. upon arrival I could tell that we were just in time to make the cut off. The head waiter said they could accommodate and we were shown to our seats. The place was very nice, elegantly set up with great music selection. The staff were very attentive and friendly and were very helpful in choosing the right dish for pregnant GF. Julie was absolutely lovely and explained it was their first night opening again after a devastating arson attack shut them down. The food was very good, I had Cullen skink to start which was lovely as was the bread it was served with. My GF had deconstructed chicken cesar salad which was also lovely and an interesting interpretation of the dish. We both had braised beef with sautéed sprouts and truffle mash which was very nice. We also had a complimentary glass of Prosecco and a passion fruit sorbet as a pallet cleanser. Overall we loved our experience and the chef even popped out to make sure we were happy, he is clearly very capable and long may it continue! All the best guys, you deserve good fortune!"

"We have been to Anokaa before and always enjoyed the food. This time was no exception and we were able to introduce our friends to it, and I’m sure we will all be back. It was very quiet, being the first Sunday of the New Year, but the service was excellent and the food very special. Thank you"

"Very good. this renovated and updated gastro pub has a beautiful, high-end feeling, without too posh. the personal is pleasant, real and well maintained. good drink selection! music selection didn't seem fit, but not extraordinarily. eating is exceptional, but, based on some personal preferences, there were slightly smaller disappointments with each dish. all were presented beautifully! the scallop starter was perfectly cooked, but there was an unexpected sticky texture on the sea red side. the chilis needed something sweet to balance them, but it was a nice warm pop. the acid from the grapefruit mixed with the petersilie mayonnaise drizzle, but both were delicious. some either flash-frozen or dry germinated greens gave beautiful texture, and the dish as a whole was beautiful. the duck ice starter was rich without being hard. slowly boiled (inspiring sous vide,) the egg was perfect. it was on a bed of slowly baked cheekwange, which is longing! some picking mushrooms have also added beautiful acid contrast. the brioche disc on which everything sat was not my favorite, but again can be personal preference. it seemed too thick, dense and sweet for the court. either would have been a nice sourded or an airy crawling cut my choice. again a very tasty dish. the healbutt main was absolutely wonderful! in butter lubricated, with fennel, white asparagus, a butter sauce with raw and squid-ink pasta. all with dill fronds. only small critique was the toughness of the tips of the braided fennel without knife, which is suitable for cutting through. a unique and very pleasant experience! it was great."

"I went to Byron with 4 of my work colleagues on their 25p burger special opening offer day. The queue was down the street as you would imagine, but it moved quickly and we were in and seated in no time. We were in one of the big booth seats by the window (which are perfect for people watching) The staff were friendly and super knowledgeable which was great as I ask a lot of questions. So I'm vegetarian and am so pleased that here they have separate fryers for their chips and courgette chips than their meat products (I'm amazed at how this still happens elsewhere) They were also clued up with veggie friendly cheeses and don't use Parmesan in their veggie dishes (it's not veggie) The open kitchen is a nice touch, I like seeing how the kitchen works. My Portobello mushroom burger with goats cheese, red peppers and spinach was super tasty, as we're the courgette chips. I very much enjoyed my lunch and would come back here again. I find it a little strange when you buy your burger then the chips are extra, I'd rather it was standard and you upgraded to sweet potato chips or courgette chips if you wanted to. Nice industrial decor. Worth a visit"

"The restaurant was pretty average in my opinion. And the only marks it does get is for the discount coupon we took their to get 20% off. The menu is not impressive in my opinion and after deciding on what not to have i decided to order an omlette, but even this was not done properly. The filling was quite good but the texture just inedible and rubbery. The positive for me would be their service ,which i must compliment was pretty patient, even after not ordering for an hour since one of friends was not there yet, they were humble and not rude at all."

"This has to be the most expensive alcohol store in Edinburgh. When I expressed my shock at the prices, a rude staff member attributed it to taxes, which I found amusing because I found the same beer for half the price at a nearby location. They are clearly taking advantage of their prime location and charging exorbitant prices. I would suggest avoiding this place."

"A much hyped up restaurant with fantastic social media coverage. Unfortunately the visits didn 't live up to the hype. On the first occasion the waiter decided to move us after seating us and decided it was our fault because we sat where he asked. This was recovered by a superb waitress that took over. She was helpful with the menu and suggestions of what to try. The meal was average and the atmosphere was also the same. My children loved this place as 'it 's the place to be ' and so we went back. The second visit had a much more pleasant seating experience, the food again was average but the mocktails were nice. They got the order wrong but we went with the main they brought as this was...read more"

"Tharavadu is a breath of fresh air. It brings something to Leeds that you'd usually have to travel to neighbouring Bradford to find. With typically unheard of dishes, it moves away from the traditional British curry' and instead presents to us a true reflection of what food is like in South India along the Karalan coast line (I presume). It shows us what a dosa should be like. It shows us what else there is out there other than a chicken bhuna/balti/tikka masala. It shows us true passion in it's food. We booked weeks ahead for a Saturday night table for 8 diners at prime time. We walked in and were shown to our seats immediately. The restaurant is fairly small so I would always advise...read more"

"Planet Spice in Addington is undoubtedly one of the best of many good Indian restaurants in South East London. But our visit to this time was somewhat disappointing. The most important courses were good, but not excellent, although the desserts protruded. We had the standard menu that I missed the special regional menus that gave this restaurant its speciality. I hope they're back. Service seemed a bit slapdash at times and the metal guitar background music even at very low volume was irritating"

"We had not reserved a table however were seated straight away by a friendly host, despite the restaurant being busy. Service was quick and friendly, food was tasty and arrived quickly! We tasted both the pizza and pasta, both dishes were excellent. Particularly, would recommend the penne arrabbiata. Would recommend this restaurant if shopping/visiting tourist attractions near Hyde park/green park. Also we noticed that there was lots of choice for gluten free customers."

"Food and service were both of very high quality. The cheese soufflé starter was crispy on the outside and smooth inside, full of cheese flavour. The chicken liver parfait was tasty too. We ordered extra bread to go with it. The confit duck leg had crispy skin and very tender meat, and was served with a warming bean and chorizo stew. The pistachio soufflé dessert was spectacular. So nice! We were sat near the kitchen in the basement and could see that all the kitchen staff were very experienced. There was no talking and everyone seemed to know what they were doing. Our waiter was also highly attentive and professional. Dishes were served promptly and water topped up without having to ask."

"A absolute gem of a restaurant, had a beautiful evening in the restaurant to celebrate a birthday and our daughters confirmation. Chef is amazing the food perfect and the desserts are a beautiful indulgence and treat to end a evening with. The waitresses couldn’t do anymore to help and ensure you have a great evening. I look forward to my next visit and wish the staff and restaurant every success post Covid times."
