"I must be some kind of foodie Jedi and I'll tell you why. I *really* wanted to win our christmas raffle prize which was a three course meal with wine at The Scran Scallie the fabulous gastropub in my hood. I said as much a few times but it was a raffle and there were over a hundred bods at our christmas do so my chances weren't particularly high. But I won it! And I rarely win anything (without working very hard for it) so I reckon I must have willed it through sheer mind-force. The raffle was in aid of SANDS Lothian a charity close to my heart and so I thought it was only right that I thank the pub and the force' with a review."

"We were here for a family reunion on Fathers Day. I was going to give 3 stars but having had no response to 2 feedback emails that I sent I have downgraded it. This is the honest feedback that I sent: I’d like to thank you for your help in putting our family meet together. We were pleased with the comfort and ambience of the area where we were sat. We also felt the staff were pleasant and courteous. The meals and the drinks received a mixed feedback. We felt that the vegetables and sauces were very good although a group of 4 were given a small dish of green vegetables to share. Some time later a request for more green vegetables was dealt with but the timing was not good. The fish and chips were commonly well received. I’m afraid that the other aspects of food and drink and most importantly ORGANISATION were poor. When we arrived a waiter came over to take orders of the people that had not placed an advanced order. 2 people at one end of the table asked about the ordered drinks and had to say what they ordered and their order was delivered. I was a little concerned that 2 coffees ordered for the sweets of Peter and Jenny were bought with those 2 drinks but they seemed OK with taking them then and despite all the complaints in this email I don’t want to find fault. At my end of the table the waiter told me that he would come to me with my order but he must have forgotten. Starters were brought for those few that ordered them and a waitress eventually came through to enquire if everyone was OK. I said me and my wife were still waiting for our drinks order. After another 10 minutes someone cam back with the 2 decaf flat whites that we ordered for the end of the meal. Unfortunately the waiter, who was clearly distressed to be told to take them back and bring the correct drinks order, wished to engage with me in a disagreement about where the fault for this lay in front of all my family. This did upset me. Eventually my ale and my wife’s wine was delivered to us – it had taken over 90 minutes to arrive and both the ale was tainted and the red wine not pleasant. In addition the 2 pre ordered drinks were brought for a second time! The poor organisation also meant the meals did not arrive in good time. After nearly 2 hours most people had not had a bite to eat. The meat was very poor. The beef was inedible (very tough) and the poor standards of both meats was fed back to a waitress. By the time that sweets arrived staff was particularly flustered. The sweets came so late that 3 of the people that had ordered ice creams had to leave to catch their train. Again our drinks were forgotten so I asked for the 2 decaf flat whites. These were eventually brought but they were luke warm. My wife felt embarrassed for the staff so she drunk hers anyway as she did not want another accusatory conversation in front of our group. I had to ask for mine to be replaced as I felt that it was unpleasant. That concludes my feedback although I should say that there were other deficiencies. You have been warned!"

"on the positive side the food was decent enough, not great, but perfectly ok. The organisation, however was shambolic. No answer from initial booking enquiry seven days ahead, done by email to the address on their own website, or then via the contact form on their website, or by phoning their number. Really poor, and when I told them I got some nonsense answer about them losing access to email for sometime, and that I must have phoned during their afternoon break (which I hadn’t, as showed them on my phone! , and even then you’d maybe expect a business to have voicemail or even an answer phone to take messages! Poor response from them. Surroundings a bit tired, male staff uncommunicative, menus had sellotaped message ‘add £1 to all prices’ no differentiation between something previously £15 or £5, just a quid added to anything. Completely understand price rises to meet inflationary cost increases, but what a random way to do it. Despite advertising alcohol free beer, and on menu, was told they didn’t in fact do it, which was particularly irritating to one in my party who had let its availability influence our choice of restaurant. Well, that and everything else has influenced us, we’ll not be back I’m afraid, there are several excellent Indian restaurants in Stirling (like Green Gates, Mint Leaf which I’d recommend you go to instead."

"beautiful, fresh, Mexican cuisine, huge vegan selection. they always ask for the evening menu also on the day as they have more choice. clear vegan and gf options marked. I had luck enough to try the whole vegan menu in running the time (family who were happy to share it instead of ordering meat options my faves are the sweet lizards and the vegan nachos. that is enough for a whole. it is also a very safer space to eat alone, and I love to go into the window seat and watch people."

"my wife has booked for both of us lunch to celebrate my birthday in a restaurant where I wanted to go for a while. it fulfilled all my expectations. the service was always attentive. we had a good table and on the way to him were taken our dumbbells and at the same time we were asked if we wanted to water on the table. we were given time or studying the menu and asked if we need any drinks. these came within minutes and we were asked if we were willing to order. we ordered from the a la carte menu and young was eating well. the starters were a good size and tasty, a lot of choice for the net and I must say the Indonesian fish curry was for to die. large selection on the wine menu and not silly prices, as we all know that some restaurants put a considerable brand on their weeping. a total of an excellent experience all around well made the personal for my birthday dinners very unforgettable."

"I really do like cafe rouge, but for many different reasons! Its the first place i went on a date with my partner so it has special meaning for me. We had a great time here and i would recommend it as somewhere to take someone new to get to know them. Its not pretentious in anyway and it is cosy, relaxing and romantic. The coffee here is delicious, just the right strength and the aroma smells divine as you walk in. They do a mean breakfast and lunch and dinner is also delicious. Prices are average for this type of place so no surprises!"

"We were recommended this place by a kind stranger in the smoking section and I am grateful for their suggestion. The staff at Honours really know what they're doing. Despite not having a reservation, we were able to get a spot at the bar. The music was at a pleasant volume and the lighting created a cozy atmosphere, even at the bar. The food was absolutely delicious. It was authentically good and sourced locally, with a varied menu. The parmesan risotto was a creamy delight. Our mains of hand-rolled tagliatelle with truffle puree and scallops, Moroccan lemon chicken, potatoes, and French beans were especially enjoyed. The highlight of the meal was the Honours sundae, which was a delightful surprise with toffee caramel ice cream, honeycomb, pecans, caramelized banana, and tiny chocolate pieces that bubble and pop in your mouth. Overall, it was definitely worth the visit."

"I wanted to try out things before, and the last one was done at night. I was thrilled to discover, they offer a fully dedicated vegetarian menu and even more impressed when I discovered a few vegan options as well as listed. the restaurant itself is charming, cozy, quirky and welcoming with beautiful art hanging on sunny yellow walls, wooden floors, warm lighting and an open kitchen, so that they see the chefs their magie. it has a relaxed atmosphere, but also feels like a special, luxurious place to dinate. the two men who served us were friendly, helpful and chatting without being intrusive, I would rate the service as the best I experienced in any restaurant. I ordered a starter of spageltempura with asian salate, fresh and tangy, mainly from sweet potatoes and cherry fried fritters on a delicious mild creamy spinat curry and a luscious melt in the middle chocolate pudding with fresh earthberries, celestial and cream for dessert. my dinning partners shared a starter of the brote with tapenade that I tried and would highly recommend for the fresh taste and exceptionally generous portion literally a huge basket of individual baked broth. the food was from this world in terms of quality and taste. it was completely unimaginable. in my party of four people, each of us thought that it was the best that we cost in a very long time. we enjoyed our culinary experience in ginger bistro so much that we already plan a return trip. if they hadn't been, I would recommend you try it, as a meal here is an exceptionally pleasant evening. so a restaurant goer bistro should be perfect in every sight. "We came here for a family meal mid week to celebrate a birthday. We all had a lovely time. The restaurant was spacious, and the staff attentive and polite. It’s definitely a bit more pricey than other Italian restaurants, so does suit for special occasions. "the best meal I had in a very long time. I am allergic to a few things and I am vegan, so often I find myself eating strange, subduing food when I go out. the experience in blue joanna could not be different. my friend had informed the team when she made the booking, and they said they could fit the menu. from experience, it doesn't always fill me with hope. we came to a very friendly greeting from the team (the restaurant itself is sweet with a great atmosphere, and they explained the menu. I asked about my allergies, shortly after the cook came and sat with me to discuss my allergies and told me I could have any veggie option on the menu!,( everything is fresh so easily cooked. he needed the time to go through everything he was extremely friendly, and didn't let me feel uncomfortable what is the case in the rule. I also felt that he took the allergies seriously, which is refreshing. the tapas dishes are perfect for sharing; we had three carnivores and two sweets, and all the food was amazing, no one was disappointed. we ate a lot of food (I am not used to having so much choice!, and the bill was surprisingly affordable. cocktails were also delicious! hands down, easy the best meal I had since the outbreak. "I called on Thursday 04.08.2016 in Thai-Tanik to try the tofu, as recommended by a friend and was not disappointed. Instead, I'm just sorry I didn't try to eat this little one before. for the lunchtime, while the mid-week this takeaway (which has a few tables for sit-ins) was quiet, without doubt because there are summertime and related students and workers are gone on vacation. Nevertheless, as I also, there were a few other diners there and I think Thai-Tanic would be extremely busy when the holiday season ends as eating was fantastic. I ordered green Thai sweet curry with tofu, plus a side of coconut rice. together with a bottle of mineral water it cost me around £7.50, which was a lunch special. amazing value for this quality. my dish was cooked in an open kitchen, from fresh, and served cake hot in a generous part. aromen were immense and spicy great that strong, delicious flavor that lets her nase run, not yet exaggerates finer aromen. perfect. I enjoyed every mortal and will definitely be back for more. all the elements on the menu have a sweet / tofu option that is fabulous to see, so vegetarians have an excellent choice to choose from. Thai-tanic also have delivery service available Thursday to Sunday, offer catering for events and guide Thai cooking classes. Top brands for tasty eating, friendly service and relaxed, unpretentious ambiente. a wonderful little nude."
