"Usually love Bills. On this occasion the heating wasn’t working the restaurant was freezing. We weren’t told this when seated despite the staff definitely knowing. We ended up ordering and asking if the heating could be turned up this is when we found out it wasn’t working. By this time it was too late to leave and try and find somewhere else to eat as we had a cinema booking. We sat and ate, shivering in our coats. All we got was a sorry no offer of discount or anything to acknowledge we were paying for a meal in very uncomfortable circumstances. I should have said something at the time but my children hate it when I make a fuss. Very poor show Bills."

"The dumplings were over cooked and not very tasty. The sauce on the salad was heavy and left an aftertaste Service was not attentive we had to work quite hard to catch the waitress attention for some sauce and then the bill. I came away disappointed which is not usual as before I have enjoyed the food and the service has been good. I have said yes to recommend below as previously it has been OK so hope this is just a bad one off"

"Visited Bill’s in Chichester for the first time for a goodbye brunch with my daughter. All the staff made us feel welcome from arrival. Service was prompt, friendly and polite. However there was a mix up with our order and my daughter ended up with a vegetarian rather than vegan breakfast. The way this was handled was superb. As soon as they were aware of the muddle the ‘offending’ breakfast (that looked really good) was scooped away. A new vegan breakfast came quickly. The FOH manager also offered to take mine away so we could eat together. He was utterly charming as were the rest of the team. The breakfast was also taken off the bill. A great experience and I’d happily recommend."

"Been to Bills numerous times over the year and now find it overpriced portions cut . Only deserts are sugar based . Classic Bills Burger came with just a burger in a bap with a piece of lettuce a tomato with some sauce . Ordered extra cheese I thought this meant there would be extra to what was already there and had to send it back to get that put on . Fries the cheapest regredience you can get were delivered in a cone , giving the impression of quantity but of course this was not the case . One of our party didn't order the sea bass as she had it before at Bills and it ends up being one half of a pack of two you can buy in a supermarket for It was confirmed by the staff that the portion of Sea Bass was the still the same . Bills used to have a great variety of choice for mains and either fruit or cheese board for those without a sweet tooth. Staff were great though but when we mentioned how much quieter the restaurant seemed said there was a lot of competition round that way , which I know has always been there . Maybe its the lack of choice , portions and price that eventually drive customers to other venues .Unfortunately we have reached that conclusion and wont be returning . Shame though as just a small adjustment would make all the difference ."

"The staff were exceptionally friendly, which was a delightful part of the experience. The food was good overall. However, I did have one issue: despite informing the servers that my daughter is vegan, her toast and hummus were served with butter on the plate. This indicates a breakdown in communication with the kitchen, and it's disappointing as this has happened to me at two different Bill's locations."

"the appetizers were delicious. I ordered lobster and seafood linguini. when the food arrived, it smells really fishy and the garnish was definitiw. my partner paid a very small huh. they reimbursed my main thing, but we still have paid off. the manager apologised for my eating, but I didn't get the impression that they recognized the seriousness of serving a customer who is away from seafood. never again"

"Great quality Italian Meal with very friendly staff and great value for money. Complimentary doughballs and olives to start followed by plentiful Monkfish and a delicious tortellini, washed down with half a carafe of white wine. Just to cap it off, the cheeseboard was amazing for £5.80, with 4 cheeses plentiful for 3 people let alone one and came with a complimentary glass of port. We have never had a cheeseboard for such a great value anywhere else. We will definitely return."

"excellent selection of food varies and different. great service love bill’s in the rule try to visit one wherever we visit if possible. looked so sunny outside, but under a soon-a-chin. pleasant helpful staff that helped our meals and was not disappointed. also fruity refreshing drinks to tap water with ice without asking the offer. in any case recommend. negatiw my meal was brought and was not my choice, but immediately corrected only a mistake and so quickly changed it was not a problem with excuses."

"Dined here for the first time yesterday with my friend. We both had the chicken burger fries. The burger was so nice. The lady that greeted us at the door then later asked if all was ok was lovely. I think she said she was from Poland. Loved the decor of the building. I live in Derby so I dont eat in Nottingham much. When I visit Nottingham again I'd definitely dine at Bill's again"

"We reserved a table for New Years Eve as it was always somewhere we wanted to try, and being a special occasion we were happy to choose Bills. We were seated by a friendly waitress who served us and was lovely. Drinks were nice although they had ran out of beer that was bigger than a small bottle, and they are costly for a bottle so small. The male waiter who took our drinks order just suggested I buy two bottles when I said I wanted a beer bigger than a small bottle. I noticed both steaks they had on the menu were quite fatty steaks, but I chose one anyway and chose to have it cooked rare as this is how I like it done. When it arrived, it was full of white fat. I thought maybe it was my own idiocy by choosing to have a certain steak rare, so I tried to eat it. But half way through the steak I had to pull a huge glob of uncooked fat out of my mouth and it completely put me off my meal. The waitress kindly took it off the receipt at the end which I was grateful for, but I still spent the rest of my night on New Years Eve being hungry as I hadn't eaten a good meal. Again maybe my own mistake, but no chef should send out uncooked fat."

"We didn't plan on eating at this restaurant specifically, we happened to stumble upon it and we're so glad we did! The staff were incredibly friendly and took our temperatures before seating us. They were welcoming and went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable, a true asset to the business. Me and my friend ordered starters and mains, with mine pictured here. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced for the high quality we received. We couldn't resist ordering dessert because the food was so good. Honestly, the next time I visit Durham, I will make sure to dine here before anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff! 10/10."

"The roast lamb dish I had at this restaurant was the most disappointing meal I have ever experienced dining out. The quality of the broccoli was poor, as it was beginning to spoil and was extremely hard. The frozen roast potatoes and meat were also unpleasant, being tough and difficult to chew. The entire table of diners was left feeling let down by the underwhelming meal. The appearance of the food did not even look appetizing. Additionally, the table we were seated at was not properly cleaned beforehand and showed signs of wear and tear. Despite these shortcomings, the staff members were polite and friendly. Overall, I would rate the food as 1 out of 5 stars."

"We came here because it was a gluten free food Establishment. The staff were really friendly and the overall feel of the place was very professional. Our food came and it was out of this world. The presentation on the plates was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, even more because I didn't have to worry about being glutened. The dessert menu was great. Myself and my partner both picked the protein pancakes and again the presentation was fantastic. They really did look as good as they tasted. I look forward to visiting again"

"As a regular customer of rhubarb I was extremely upset to of received such shocking customer service this morning. Myself an partner came for breakfast at 9am and firstly ordered a coffee whilst taking an important phone call we both needed to listen to and so placed the call on speaker as there was not one other person in the building other than the member of staff that greeted us we did not see this as a problem. Throughout the call we were asked 3 times if we were eating and what we wanted to which we replied we were not yet ready to order. Shortly after the member of staff asked us very abruptly to switch off the speaker, to which my partner replied for whom exactly? (As we were the only people there and the music was blaring we could hardly hear ourselves think). She then replied for me!! Shocked at this we decided not to stay for breakfast and instead go down the road to milo (which was lovely and could not fault service). As we paid for our coffees i said to the woman she was in the wrong line of work as she didn’t offer good customer service to which she replied take you private phone calls somewhere else! In shock at how she spoke to us my partner said we would be leaving a review to which she replied she could not wait to read it and shoved us out the door. Not quite sure what the attitude or problem was for maybe woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but said to say will not be returning again and I will look forward to speaking directly with the owner myself."
