"The family said this was a good gastro pub to visit, so we went for Sunday Lunch. My guest was rather taken aback to have a large dog beside us, but I rather like that in an English pub. The Sunday Lunch is quite up...to scratch, quickly served, and I especially liked the vegetables. We chose different meats, and all were great. Then the Rugby came on TV! I’d never watched a match in a pub before, and greatly enjoyed all the whoops and applause (we were winning but we were rather craning our necks to see, so we ran back for the second half on a bigger screen! Normally I’d have liked to linger longer as the ambiance was very good, and we enjoyed ourselves."

"I stumbled upon a gem of a restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I received a warm welcome. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and his passion for food and drinks was evident. Louise, who served us, was charming, elegant, and friendly. The fact that they offered a generous garlic scone as an amuse bouche already had me impressed. The starter of king scallops and black pudding on a bed of pea jus was exquisite, and the light Albariño wine enhanced the flavors perfectly. The steak pie, with hand-cut chips and seasonal vegetables, was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, paired beautifully with a Rioja crianza. I was so impressed that I booked a table for two days later while still enjoying my starter. The dessert options were tempting, but I chose the meringue with strawberry ice cream and Chantilly cream, accompanied by a glass of Australian Chardonnay dessert wine. The quality of the food and the skill in its preparation and presentation made the reasonable cost seem like a steal. I left the restaurant incredibly satisfied and looking forward to returning. This establishment has set a high standard for all other local restaurants. Thank you."

"Would have given zero stars had that been possible. Booked well in advance. Kept waiting with three other couples for a good 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Shown to our table to find a party of guests still eating/drinking. Went to another table to find cleaning products and dirty cloth on table. The gentleman at the door was absolutely out of his depth and had little or no management training. Door notice said they were accepting only bookings, everyone else turned away due to lack of staff. If there was only limited staff on that evening why did no-one think to cancel bookings/rebook customers for another time. Staff completely overwhelmed and stressed. This place needs strong management and leadership. It really is a complete shambles. GIVE IT A MISS.Needless to say our party of four walked out in disgust."

"beautiful meal excellent, perfectly cooked steak with delicious sides. special call to my waiter adam, who was simply perfect: contempt, without intrusive, efficient, professional, courtesy and friendly to be a wrench-free wise without being forced to feel compelled. I felt very good looking. before the house personnel. Chicken (I think I'm sorry if incorrect writing was also very friendly and thoughtful."

"Smart well laid out pub deserving of the description of a gastro pub. We turned up without a booking but the staff worked out a table for us and we're very helpful. Menu gave us a choose of breakfast which then turned into a dinner menu 15 mins after we sat down so we had the best of both worlds. Lots of choice we settled for the breakfast. Steak and eggs for me, veggie for one of our group and two breakfast s one full blown and one slightly smaller. Food was good portions a little smaller than expected but still reasonable. Good atmosphere with groups eating or taking in cocktails from the broad choice in the drinks menu. Will use again as overall great venue."

"For many years Balans has always been my go to restaurant in Soho one could always be guaranteed of a good standard of just nice food. In all the years I have been going here (and that has been since they opened their restaurant in Soho) I have never had a bad meal or anything other than great service. Well last night I was rather disappointed to start the service was dreadful. The restaurant was by no means full and only had 3 waiting staff this included what could have been a manager (however this was not clear). We asked the waiter if the calamari starter was done in batter, but he did not know what better was so we had to explain to him we ordered the beetroot tacos and Truffle chicken for starters we got the calamari and chicken we let this go as at this point we did not really mind. The chicken was ok but definitely did not have a taste of truffle because it was doused in honey making it rather sweet. When the starters were served they brought the main course with at the same time when we specifically asked for these to be brought separately. After the starter the main course came again, fish n chips and a Balans burger both old Balans favourites the burger my friend had was good but the fish n chips was clearly not fresh and just a reheated old plate of food it even looked awful (see pic attached) I could have gone to poppies across the road for a better Fish n chips the mushy peas had got a dry ‘skin’ on the top of it. The waiter who was clearly flustered called the ‘manager’ who brought another plate of fish n chips that did not look much better than the one before the chips were visibly soggy to which she said, it’s probably the oil they are using in the kitchen (shouldn’t they be using beef dripping) I ended up not having a main course in the end. Another meal was offered but by this time my friend had almost finished his burger so opted to have nothing instead. I understand that sometimes things go wrong in a restaurant and that this was the first time in many visits to Balans that things went wrong however for it to go spectacularly wrong like this indicates to me that Balans has lost its charm the restaurant was about 60% full not really busy at all when we left and passed Comptons Brasserie it was packed (inside and out) to the rafters and there was a buzz in the restaurant something that clearly lacking in Balans last night. I will probably be back again some time but Balans would not be my first choice in Soho again!"

"highly recommended, sapores, my husband and I went as last minute booking for my birthday and I honestly had a brilliant experience. they will not be disappointed. first, the decor was beautiful! everything from the facility to the toilet was clean and immaculate. we were served by ikram who was asking with his friendly service and his recommendation as well as the others who all came to us several times how the food/shot was and when we needed something I never felt so relaxed and happy. other companies need to learn a few things about sapores staff labels! we went with ikram's suggestion of Shisha-Aroma; tropical vibes and it was the best taste I've been trying for a long time. the food met the place and presentation was immaculate. the burgers were full of taste and so were the chiffren, juicy and juicy. as I told the owner who asked us how everything was my answer; a* with a . they don't get this kind of service anywhere and it was the best. keep it up, I hope nothing but the growth of their business. I'll be back in a definitiw."

"Exceptional service and food! We booked The Vine for a Hen Party on Saturday 29th July for 32 people .Upon prior to everyone arriving I went down to The Vine to set up the tables etc ,I was greeted by Megan who showed me to the restaurant to see if I liked the way that had set it up , it was absolutely fine I just asked for a couple of adjustments nothing major just the tables to be a little bit more closer together, which she said was absolutely no problem. When everyone started to arrive we were greeted straight away with friendly faces who couldn’t do enough for us . The food was second to none, this came out altogether and was piping hot , it was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were really generous too. As it was for a large party we did pre ordered our food , from a 2 course set menu the restaurant had designed for us , which had plenty of choice for Starters , Mains and Deserts , that suited both meat and plant based options (This is what we asked for) A couple of people in the party are really fussy eaters but they didn’t complain about it and accommodated us accordingly. All in all the service, food and the decor was just amazing , and a credit to Davood and his team for making the Bride to Be’s day amazing .The cocktails were also amazing We will definitely return , maybe not such as a large group next time."

"Looks nice, decor good but food is really poor. Service was friendly, professional and efficient. Restaurant was not busy. Food 1. Starter Slow cooked Ox Cheek £10. This is clearly from a microwave or boil in a bag, it was freezing cold in the middle, sent it back. Got a replacement that was tough as they had clearly microwaved the new one for a little bit too long. Poor considering you pay £10. Waitress came and took my second Oxcheek away after I had finished and asked if we would like to see the desert menu.....Errr no we would like to eat our main courses please? 2. Main Rib Eye and Sides £32 Steak was good to be fair, triple cooked chips were poor and were left. It is not difficult to do triple cooked chips, you can prepare them in advance and then just fry them to order at a high temperature to crisp them up. Obviously cooked at too lower temperature, soggy and not crispy at all. Really basic stuff, so really poorly cooked. Carrot and spinach sides were good. 3. Dessert Hot Chocolate Fondant and vanilla ice cream £7. What would you expect from this menu description? A nice chocolate fondant and a sensible amount of vanilla ice cream to go with this? Me too......... What I actually got was a tiny chocolate fondant (of the brought in variety and not made in house a tiny, pre balled and rock hard piece of vanilla ice cream with a mountain (in comparison to the other things on the plate of pistachio crumb. No pistachios mentioned on the menu? I returned it saying I was intolerant to nuts and they KINDLY pointed me to the clauses at the bottom of the menu that state food is prepared in a kitchen where nuts may be present and that their menu descriptions do not include all ingredients WOW........ I understand not listing the eggs, flour, cocoa powder etc etc that goes into a chocolate fondant for example BUT IF THERE ARE 3 COMPONENTS ON A PLATE 1. CHOCOLATE FONDANT 2. VANILLA ICE CREAM 3. PISTACHIO CRUMB THEN YOU MUST PUT THE PISTACHIO ON THE DESCRIPTION SURELY?!! I would be wary of ordering egg on toast for breakfast, just in case it came covered in beans using their attitude to menu descriptions : So in summary, 3 courses, sent 2 back and only ate part of the main. They microwave meat and cannot even be bothered to scoop you out fresh ice cream when they serve desserts and I think that says it all. Only just 2 stars because of the service and the steak. Would I return? My god NO!"

"Visited for Valentine's lunch with my partner. I had devilled chicken skewers, crispy chicken and sesame dumplings, carrot cake doughnuts, and a matcha coconut latte. He had steak and eggs, a warm triple chocolate brownie, and tropical juice. I absolutely loved everything I ordered, everything...was delicious and quite unique I'd never eaten anything like the carrot cake doughnuts before and they were gorgeous. My partner, on the other hand, wished he'd ordered something a little more exciting as he said his food was pretty average and nothing to write home about. So we'd recommend ordering something a little more exotic as they seem a bit more confident with those flavours! The restaurant was also quite loud, I think it could benefit from some more decor or something to soak up some of the sound as it really echoed. On the whole a lovely meal and good service, so I would definitely recommend it for a date."

"Great Sunday lunch ! Looking for somewhere new to take the family of 5 for lunch I read a couple of reviews from local newspapers and had to try it out ! Staff where lovely, attentive taking drinks orders, took around 30mins for meal to arrive which during the meal staff asked if everything was ok so big tick for staff! Sunday lunch we booked as were informed it does sell out we all had the beef, I’m always wary of beef but this was delicious! It was cut thinly, melted in the mouth, cabbage was so tasty loved the glazed carrots and greens ! 3 empty plates ! They were able to accommodate my child’s request for sausage mash n beans he ate this all himself.. another hit ! Hubby had a burger and said it was great! Not familiar with the area but easy to park outside on double yellows for free on a Sunday. Works out around £15 per head. What a little gem thanks team vigour for a lovely Sunday lunch see you again !"

"We have been visiting TVS for 7 years and have noticed some changes that are not for the better. The restaurant used to be vibrant and bustling with great service, fast and friendly staff, and a lively atmosphere. The food has always been decent. However, the new management lacks enthusiasm and does not interact with customers. The staff are pleasant, but two young employees struggle to keep up with a 70% full dining room. The new menu has not changed much, but the food is still good. While the meat on a hot plate is delicious, serving food on a wooden plank feels outdated. We tried to love the place but only recommend it for a quick drink and snack. Perhaps bringing in a trained server or having the management visit a nearby restaurant for inspiration would improve the overall experience."

"We visited Bear in Stone last Wednesday for lunch, not a good experience at all ! We sat outside and I went in to order our meals I ordered two soft drinks, an Angry Mac with tots and a Miso Caesar Salad. I checked to confirm the salad had no Parmesan cheese on I don 't like cheese the response was I don 't think it has why are you asking are you allergic to cheese? We had waited 35 mins and I was about to go inside when a waitress came out to ask who is having the salad ? We 've ran out of eggs ! Do you want anything else on top ? I said no just the salad please a few minutes later the food arrived the angry Mac was fine but my salad was in a hot bowl ! So hot I could not touch it ! I said to the waitress the bowl is hot with salad in and she said it 's just been under the warmer I said no it 's really hot I can barely touch it please can I have another salad in a cold bowl, after a lot of discussion she went back inside not happy to get me a other salad it came out 5 mins later there was literally just a tiny amount of shredded lettuce barely covering the bottom of the bowl, a tiny bit of dressing and three tiny chicken skewers no cucumber and no peanut sesame crunch and no egg !! I have E mailed bear stone direct and heard nothing back and also another E mail address for general enquiries and heard nothing from them either !! I have put a review on Google with no response all I want is acknowledgment of this disaster but nearly 2 weeks later nothing !!! Really disappointed"

"Visited this pub this evening and the service was one of the worst I have ever received. Young, brown haired girl on shift spoke to myself and my family horrendously, so rude and had the worst attitude. We were told we had to leave by 9 due to their license, although this has never been the case on any of our previous visits. Either make this clearer to your staff as there’s a huge lack of knowledge on this, or make it clearer before I give you my money. We were not told to politely leave, she told us ‘get out’ and stood at our table until we did so. Although, there was children still in the pub clearly under 18. Even a toddler running around. No one in my party was underage, but these literal CHILDREN were never told otherwise or kicked out when we were. I will never be returning to this pub and will do all I can to get word around about how awful this place is. Discrimination shown at its finest."

"It's not too far from Kidderminster, and though the car park isn't perfect, it has a lot of character. They go all out to make your visit enjoyable. This is probably the only pub that does an all-day breakfast on a Sunday. There is a lot to choose from on the menu. If you have dietary requirements, they are happy to help. They have a good understanding of gluten-free and cross-contamination. Thexwait from order to food on the table was short. They have a choice if chips sweet potato fries, curly fries, or chunky chips! Staff were friendly, and I was made to feel comfortable. They also cater to people who prefer smaller portion sizes. I'm happy to give this a recommendation. Dietary restrictions: Will cater for gluten-free Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Full English Breakfast, Fish and Chips"

"Came in on wednesday last week for dinner with my family, Aimee was amazing at making sure all of my needs were seen to, as i have a few allergies. She was lovley to me and the rest of my family and made us feel very welcome. Even with my allergies the food was DELICIOUS, very fully of flavour and came out lovley at hot. The overall price of the meals were great for the portion sizes, especially the kids meals! The waitress we had for the majority of the night was very accommodating, came over to make sure everything was ok with our food and also asked whilst collecting the plates aswell. (i think her name was Kelly) but she was lovely. Everyone was good with the kids, serving their food first, guiding them to the kids menu’s and the colouring pages (was very impressed with these as a lot of pub lack stuff for the childrenThank you for a great visit all!"

"Andrew also clearly explained the ordering process and mentioned that we could use the app if we were uncomfortable ordering at the bar, which was very accommodating. He checked on us two or three times during our meal, remaining polite and friendly throughout. Once we ordered our food, we took a moment to appreciate our surroundings. The restaurant had a clean and comfortable atmosphere, with beautifully decorated tables and dust-free artwork adorning the walls. It was evident that the owner takes great pride in the establishment, and that pride extends to the kitchen as well. The food took about 30 minutes to arrive, which reinforced our expectations of freshness and quality from the moment we entered. The fish and chips were absolutely incredible – the best we've had in a long time. The fish was perfectly crispy, the batter was evenly cooked and flavorful, and the fish was wonderfully flaky. The chips were also great, although the double portion looked almost identical to the single portion since we planned to share it; we found that the servings were more similar than we expected. Overall, we enjoyed excellent service and high-quality food throughout our meal, leaving us satisfied even into the following morning. I've already recommended this place to my family and friends, and I plan to make it a regular stop. Thank you, Andrew, and the entire team – Andrew deserves a raise!"

"While staying at a nearby campsite, my husband and I reserved a table for Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The staff, including Michelle, were all very friendly. The carvery offered a delicious selection of beef, pork, turkey, and gammon, along with an assortment of wonderful vegetables. We both enjoyed our meals, with the beef being particularly delicious. My husband also loved the beef and turkey. We were too satisfied to have any desserts. Thank you to the chefs for a wonderful meal."

"Riva is the best restaurant in Hale. This was my second visit and I was just as impressed as the first time, if not more! Last night (Thursday evening) we enjoyed amazing food and live music from a talented singer. Our group started with a snack board and then ordered beef Wellington, steak pie, fish and chips, and fillet steak - all of which were rated 10/10 by everyone. The service from the owner, a lovely gentleman, was outstanding. If you're looking for high-quality, unique food in Hale, Riva is the place to go!"
