"I stumbled upon a gem of a restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I received a warm welcome. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and his passion for food and drinks was evident. Louise, who served us, was charming, elegant, and friendly. The fact that they offered a generous garlic scone as an amuse bouche already had me impressed. The starter of king scallops and black pudding on a bed of pea jus was exquisite, and the light Albariño wine enhanced the flavors perfectly. The steak pie, with hand-cut chips and seasonal vegetables, was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, paired beautifully with a Rioja crianza. I was so impressed that I booked a table for two days later while still enjoying my starter. The dessert options were tempting, but I chose the meringue with strawberry ice cream and Chantilly cream, accompanied by a glass of Australian Chardonnay dessert wine. The quality of the food and the skill in its preparation and presentation made the reasonable cost seem like a steal. I left the restaurant incredibly satisfied and looking forward to returning. This establishment has set a high standard for all other local restaurants. Thank you."

This may be a pub but the food quality and tastiness is excellent. The service is good. Worth a visit and is good value for money

I arrived late to the restaurant, so I called to make a dinner reservation. Before our meal, we were served delicious homemade garlic scones. The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly.

The restaurant is so welcoming and charming, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day on the golf course. It's definitely worth the quick drive from St Andrews and you won't be disappointed. We also enjoyed some live music on Friday night. The food was delicious and the view across the road was stunning. We had been at this restaurant several years ago and had wonderful meals. It was delightful to return this May and enjoy eating here again. The staff are all friendly and the food is delicious. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very generous. It is worth the 10 minute drive from St Andrews and very easy to find.

The atmosphere is very friendly. Scallops were lovely, the black sausage was cooked to perfection. Fish pie was great just would like to have a little more of the delicious sauce. Salmon with pecan crust was. A little underdone but was fixed quickly by the kitchen. The portions were generous, I even left some! The mango sorbet and coffee affiliations were both well done to perfection.

I ordered the salmon coated with nuts and a herb butter sauce. The salmon was burnt black at the bottom. Fortunately my companion loves burnt food so he ate it. The rest of the salmon was very dry and there was no sauce. The restaurant was busy and nobody came to see if our meal was ok. When the girl came to remove our plates I asked about the sauce and said that the salmon was dry and badly needed it. She came back after talking to the chef and said that the sauce was underneath the coating . My companion had the smoked haddock risotto which was divine. Not impressed with the salmon though View menu

My wife and I were staying close by for the weekend, and saw the Tavern was walking distance, so we chanced our arm with a last minute booking. There was a function on, filling the main dining room, so we were in a seperate room. We were worried we might be forgotten about but it was the opposite staff were on the money, very quick and attentive. I had the fish tacos and pork belly and my wife had the haggis and mushrooms and risotto. The quality of the food was unbelievable, especially for the price. Our two courses, two beers and a bottle of wine was around £100 and worth every penny. At the end of the meal, we asked if there was a local shop as we needed milk for tea in the morning. Unfor...

My husband and I managed to book one of the last tables available tonight and had a fabulous dinner at this little gem, accompanied by some great quality live music! The food was amazing!!! I am a vegetarian and often have to settle for not so interesting/tasty options, as the majority of smaller restaurants still seem to treat vegetarian dishes as second class. This was not the case at all at the Tavern! I had a vegetarian haggis wrapped in grilled aubergine with some red cabbage and cauliflower rice, amazing sauce and chunky chips on the side! And it was absolutely delicious!!! I am inspired to attempt to replicate this dish at home! The second veggie option on the menu was Mushroom and Co...
