"After being recommended vigour by an friend, I popped in for lunch. On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly staff member who made me feel welcome. Going through the extensive menu full of delicious delights and delicacies, I opted for shredded pork tortillas and pork bao bao for starters, and steak (medium rare and eggs (soft poached. For mains with a refreshing cola with ice, and a creamy coffee for after. The atmosphere in there is really quite nice. The rustic vibe, of exposed bricks, rot iron fixtures and neon signs gave it plenty of character. While the ability to see into the kitchen gave you a good sense of connection to where the action truly takes place. Their shredded pork tortillas came as a trio with a lovely dip. Being a starter, they were small but flavorful. The bao bao which i can only describe as tortillas but in a softer and thicker wrap with a slightly sweet note to them were lovely, and made for a pleasant new experience. They were quite accommodating when I asked for peppercorn sauce for my steak, and managed to do a flat ironed steak to perfect medium rare. With creamy yolk gently glazing it, every mouthful was a joy. I will also note their coffee was particularly creamy and frothy which I really liked. Now, the one potential down side for some is the prices. While the food I had was lovely, and I don't at all regret going. I will say it's not somewhere you go to eat on a tight budget. You pay for the atmosphere, and the food quality is above many typical cookie cutter restaurants. My meal came to just over £34 drinks included, and while I can't make it a regular, I surely will be making it a spot my son and I go to treat ourselves. I will say that if I had my son with me at the time, I could have split the starters and just added chips to the mains to feed both of us quite happily for not much more. Should you be in a position to go regularly, take advantage of their loyalty scheme and get some tasty perks."

Waited a while to try this place and it was definitely worth the wait. The chicken teriyaki noodles with vegetables was so tasty and the buttermilk chicken wrap was packed full of loveliness. H had a made to order breakfast which was perfect. Lastly the Hurricane cocktail of the week hit the spot. We will be back, in the meantime consider opening in Monton

this little restaurant is an absolute gem. if they are ever in st helens, I can't recommend it enough! we had the 5 small teller for £ deal30 and that was amazing! (genug to share for two people, we had cauliflower bites, lamming shoulders, pigs bauch, glamour of bark and supposed thunfisch. all the dishes were amazing, so great that we stayed for a chocolate mousse and a mango cheesecake. eating was detailed, delicious, well seasoned, complicated, beautifully presented and the staff was nice. it was great to see the cook in the open kitchen. the hectic and the hectic of this small restaurant made the place alive. the decor is also great! tom (I think was a brilliant waiter, he was really ni...

This restaurant represents what is wrong with St Helens, it's okay, it's not amazing, the food is okay, the service is okay, it's a pleasant place to eat. We went as a foursome, it screams fast food when you walk in. The process for ordering is interesting and gives you food for thought. One protein, two sides and a sauce. Nothing over complicated and some main meals to boot. The service is attentive and pleasant and the speed is average. The food when it arrives is okay, it will never set the food world alight and it will never get a decent award, it's okay. The fact tit is rated very highly in St Helens says more about the state of food in St Helens than the quality of what it puts out. I...

"I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews but Unfortunately I can’t say I very much enjoyed my first and potentially last trip to Sabroso. Firstly let me say that we got the food as a takeaway. Now, I’m not a big fan of writing bad reviews. I would rather write a review praising the establishment to allow others to try as we have. However, we were mislead by the reviews and feel that maybe we caught them on a bad day. Nevertheless we had a bad experience. We started with some soft chicken tacos which *spoiler alert* were the best thing that we tried. The flavour was great. The meat quantity was perfect. A great little starter if you’re willing to share. I was getting really excited at this point. However, it’s a slow decline from here. The fried jalapeños were not great. Felt and tasted manufactured if I’m quite honest and with the chilli dip to go with it, which was most certainly ‘crucials extra hot chilli sauce’ that you get in most takeaways these days, I was feeling slightly let down. You would think a Mexican/ tex mex restaurant would at least make a good chilli sauce. For the main, I had a Beef Chilli burrito, which I asked to be made a little spicier, and it Was flavourless. Mainly tasted like cheese and was packed with rice, which I understand that’s what a burrito should be But there was barely any meat/ chilli. I was thinking if my chicken tacos were that tasty I can’t wait for the burrito but it was bland. No flavour to the Mexican rice and there wasn’t any spice to be found. I was very disappointed to say the least. The missus had chicken enchiladas and had this to say: large portion with a substantial amount of chicken but could only really taste tomatoes. Too saucy and rather flavourless. The onion rings and sweet potato fries tasted like they came from a packet. Overall a solid 2 out of 5. I had high hopes from the reviews but it really wasn’t much to shout about. Nothing really Mexican in sight except the tacos. Do not let our review stop you from trying the food for yourselves and maybe you’ll have a better experience If you eat in the restaurant rather than a takeaway. Enjoy yourselves. Nick and Becky."
