"This café is fantastic. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Everything is cooked to perfection using fresh ingredients. The homemade cakes, scones, and millionaire's shortcake are all delicious and should not be overlooked. A definite must-visit when in Campbeltown."

"we really fought in chinatown, first to find a restaurant that was open (it was over 3pm) and then one that even had a vegetarian dish. after at least 45 minutes window shopping we were at big bowls door. her menu had many things and we're just exhausted. the point of the long-term introduction is that if they have diet (or budgetary) restrictions, please proceed directly here. their combo menus are a lot of food for 2 (big bowl in the did.) the Veg-Copsuey I had was a satisfying dish of noodles and steamed vegetables. they did not sneak on exotic veggies, how to do cheaper places. the green apple native mojito was too sweet, but refreshing...read more"

"I did a pin sticking pub pick for Suffolk Sunday lunch on Google maps and decided to give the Three ways pub a visit. After speaking to the landlord booked a table,as he seemed very nice on the phone taking the booking. The pub was over an hour away in an area not visited before. When we arrived the car park was nearly full,an indicator of a popular pub in a quite remote area. On entering was greeted by the landlord and our drink order taken. At least 2 real ales on tap, another good sign of popularity for a rural pub. We were seated and our lunch order quickly taken followed by a very quick service. Only managed half pint of beer before service. Vegetables served separate as was gravy. The meats and vegetables was just the right amount so no waste, Which left just enough room for cracking homemade dessert. A very nice landlord landlady friendly staff, and good food and service and price. Another trip in the offing. Well worth the trip down some very narrow lanes to find."

"Having been recommended by friends we decided to book in for Saturday afternoon, my self my partner and our two children. We were booked for 1330 but arrived 20 minutes early and the place looked to be very busy so we thought we’d have to have a wander up the cobbles till our actual booking time. This wasn’t the case, the wonderful Chloe, (please forgive me if I’m wrong) managed to have a little shuffle round tables and got us sat down straight away, explained the specials board and handed us menus. We ordered drinks but needed a little more time to peruse the menus, as with the specials board they really have an outstanding selection of what sound like delicious meals to offer. I ended up opting for the fisherman’s casserole, my partner had a large haddock chips and peas, and the kids both had chicken nuggets chips and beans (imagine my shock). The fisherman’s casserole was absolutely incredible, beautiful rich white sauce with chunks of white fish, prawns and salmon with a velvet mash and cheese topped lid with freshly steamed vegetables. My partner said his haddock was one of the best fish he’d eaten, and he eats a lot of fish and chips believe me. The kids also gave a nod of approval as they managed to peel themselves away from their phones for 2 seconds. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food you receive. Unfortunately we were driving later on that day and couldn’t enjoy a bottle of wine for the great looking selection they had. All in all we absolutely loved it and next time we’re back in Whitby, (hopefully this summer) we will Definitely be back to your wonderful restaurant."

"First confession was that it was the first place that looked like it would have a free clean toilet. Putting that aside; it was a really friendly place that has spent a fair bit on some internal decoration to encourage 'folk ' to rest a while. After apologising for ordering the peppermint tea I was tempted to indulge in a Border Tart; don 't worry I only got the chance to eat half of it. Nice people, good facilities , well appointed and a nice little view onto the harbour."

"After reading the reviews online my partner decided to bring me here to celebrate my new job. First impressions were bad, it’s extremely deceptive compared to how it’s pictured on the website, it’s very dark and gloomy, there was no obvious sign outside, especially as we came in the dark so we drove past it twice. The sign outside could do with some light decor. Prior to coming to Mango Room my partner called to book the table and informed them of my new job celebration and had asked the waitress if she could make the table look somewhat fancy/different to the other tables as a surprise for me in which she agreed to doing. When we arrived he asked her where the table was and she said “pick whatever table you want” meaning she completely disregarded his request. After receiving the menu that was broken and looked extremely cheap and flimsy for the prices they charge, I also realised the food was very overpriced. I asked the waitress for the set menu and she said that only gets provided for groups of people over 10. It didn’t state that on the website and can be misconstrued as false advertisement. I can not believe for one small portioned size jerk chicken it cost £13 alone you then have to pay extra for a side which is around 3.50 4.00. When reluctantly ordering the food which was Jerk chicken rice peas, we also requested coleslaw and dumplings, the waitress replied “we don’t do coleslaw or dumplings here, the owner doesn’t like it” ... it’s not about what the owner doesn’t like it’s about your food audience. How can you run a Caribbean restaurant without coleslaw or dumplings? It’s key in West Indian food. I found that to be very obscured. The waitress then said “it’s fine dining, we don’t do that here”... I did not know consuming dumplings and coleslaw meant it was not fine dining. Whilst waiting for my food, I asked for some water the waitress brought out a jug of water which seemed to have a booger stain on the side, very very off putting. When the food eventually came out in which waiting time wasn’t long because the restaurant wasn’t busy, the plates were extremely hot, it seemed as though the chef just reheated/microwaved the rice and peas causing the dish within itself to be piping hot to the point where I couldn’t even hold it and had to messily dish out the rice myself with the small spoon provided. The rice and peas were extremely overcooked and stodgy, there was hardly any gravy with the jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was undercooked and did not fall of the bone with basic sweet pepper slice and red onions for decoration. The plantain was extremely undercooked, very burnt on the outside and tasted wet, clumpy and soggy on the inside I’ve never tasted plantain so renk. The waitress did give us complimentary tulip glasses of champagne, which was nice. My partner did say that he enjoyed his curry goat which was very tender, he had that with plain rice. Overall I feel this restaurant is extremely overrated, extortionate and wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. The only pros were the company I had and leaving. I would’ve much preferred going turtle bay, the atmosphere and decor is so much better and you get your monies worth. Turtle Bay is extremely commercial so this is a huge compliment to them as I’m not too fond of them either."

"OK, so I know I'm quite generous with my marks, but The Adelaide deserves 5 stars across the board, for its fabulous food, great service, well served ales and lovely patio garden to enjoy our meal in. Four of us dined in today, three of us hitting the steak and kidney pudding from the large specials menu, one on the vege lasagne and here I have to admit to a mistake, I added side orders too. Oh my goodness, the puds were huge and all served with mash and a three vegetable side dish. Just looking at that you knew the sides were in trouble, but everything on the plates was gorgeous, fresh cooked, none of this microwave malarkey, so we couldn't leave the sides could we.... they were equally excellent. After a rest, desert had to be considered, but it was a case of 2 dishes, 4 spoons for the lovely apple rhubarb crumble, with custard of course... no heathens in our party. So all that and a couple of drinks, all for £105, awesome value for the quality of food and service. Here I'll share a secret, my final measure of an establishment are the loos, and gentlemen, we know what we're talking about here, but these were sparkling clean, fresh looking and smelling, so rare in pubs nowadays to ensure such attention is paid to the facilties. If I could have given it 6 stars I would have, just excellent, congratulations to the team there. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Can’t recommend this lovely country pub/restaurant enough. Owner chef Dean always delivers on quality and the service is friendly and attentive. The menu is varied and something for everyone. Slightly more expensive then some, but you get what you pay for . good food/service and pleasant setting. Pity not open Sundays and Mondays, but they need to recharge . Best to book to avoid disappointment."

"Dissapointed sorry. I feel that the restaurant is not as good as it used to be. The whole experience is somehow lacking now compared to what it used to be like. Todays meals were a starter of ribs and also prawn cocktails. They were nice and we had great expectations for the mains. Steak had to be sent back as we ordered medium rare but it was more medium well, the replacement was better cooked but found it to be to fatty, my missus did not finish it. Found the house special burger to be too dry, that’s both the burger and the bun it was served on, as well as lacking in seasoning, nope I never finished it. The main ribs for our friend was only half eaten too due to it being too fatty. In the past the Toby had been the place to go. You do seem to have lost your way unfortunately. The staff were attentive though and Carried out their jobs very well. The plates and left over food were cleared away and we were asked did we enjoy our food! We politely told them it was ok and not like it used to be, we were asked if we wanted deserts to which we said no, then within a couple of minutes the bill was placed on our table (we hadn’t asked for the bill though) but a lovely gesture from the front of house who came over and spoke to us and told us he’d given us a reduction on our meal as he had noticed that the ribs were fatty too. As the bill did arrive with out us asking for it then the royal Toby had lost Out on us ordering more drinks. So we decided to just go. Hopefully the next time we visit we will see an improvement and that Todays visit was just a minor glitch"

"I booked for my family of 4 including 2 children (7+2) . The first sitting for dinner wasn’t until 6.30, it was advertised as 6pm on the website. We waited over 40mins for the food to arrive. This was apparently because the wait staff were waiting on us finishing our starters. We didn’t order starters, only bread! Then the adult meals arrived and we waited a further 10 mins for the children’s food. At this point I spoke with the manager. My meal of mushroom carbonara was completely revolting so I sent it back and chose the burger instead. The manager kindly removed the kid’s meals from the bill. But it was still £66 for a very mediocre meal. I’m most surprised and disappointed by the lateness of the dinner service, given that 90% of your guests were with small children."

"Came here one day after stumbling upon the sign on the main high street, and so glad I did. The atmosphere is so lovely and welcoming, the staff are incredibly accomodating and friendly. I'm naturally quite shy and I felt no anxiety in here. The food is tasty, the vegan options are extensive, not to mention such a good price! I decided to come back since I loved it so much and even though they were busy inside, they moved a table from outside in, just so I could avoid the tempermental weather. They went above and beyond and seem to genuinely care about what they're doing here. I cannot recommend this place enough! Cafés like this are a dying breed, it's truly a gem and probably one of my favourite little establishments I've been to in a very long time. I wish them all the success as they truly deserve it."

"We stayed for two nights, I wish it could have been four! We went on staffa tours and visited Tobermory distillery. Both were wonderful. But the best part of our visit was Highland Cottage and our wonderful hosts. Rooms were well appointed and very clean, although mattresses were a bit old. Still we rested very comfortably. The honor bar and living rooms were a great way to relax in a beautiful setting. However the highlight was our food. Dinner was incredible. The best food we've had in Scotland, and well worth the hefty price tag of 42 pounds each for a multi course meal. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return one day. Highly recommended!!!"

"so many people had told me about the roast duck at gold mine. I have eaten in this against all 7 10 days at midday and at the end of my standard picks for Thai or Spanish foods most of the time so that I decided this time to eat the brat ente in gold mine and check what the fuss was all. Oh, my! this duck was beautiful! the fat melt in the mouth was like a nice piece of pork I never tasted dee fat so, at the same time the skin was crispy and the meat is so tender. my favorite meat is pork, but the grilled pork (also good) did not hold a candle to this roast! I chose the singapur vermicelli nudel to go with my meal. they were exactly what I wanted really thin fine noodles, fried street eating style and just perfect with the fat of this perfect escape. all 3 dishes for 22€. I have to take the family here to try this one. I had luck at 2:30 o'clock not to mutate any waiting queue, but the restaurant was quite full. I have to say, however, that this is in the line it would be worth for this roast. only the duck one side of noodles or rice would be perfect."

"One night stay. We were seeing a show at the Apollo which is a short walk away from here. Really friendly welcome and was impressed from the start. Really nice room which was clean and well equipped. Popped down for an early dinner before the show and opted for the burger. So far spent £120 on the room and the cost of two glasses of red wine and two burgers at £15 each. However was charged £1.50 to have a bit of cheese put on the burger. I mean come on, I know this is an industry standard but I am sure they would still in enjoy a profit by including it in the price. It was the Same amount to add an onion ring! That is an expensive slice of onion !! I know it’s not a huge amount but a big bear of mine! Back after the show and enjoyed a few drinks. Comfortable nights sleep. Staff are really friendly and efficient and the pub itself is nicely decorated and is nice and cosy. I would recommend and would return but will take my own cheese next time!"

"This was the second time we had indulged ourselves in the takeaway service from Tapenades, the first being my husbands birthday in December and of course Valentines Day. Yes, its lovely to go out for a meal but this really is the next best thing, quality and value for money are certainly not compromised and the food, simply gorgeous. If you have never enjoyed the fayre at Tapenades either eating in or the takeaway, then you really are missing out on a gastronomic treat. Thank you Mike Sue, we are already looking forward to our next meal."

"I was very disappointed with my recent visit to this restaurant. We were there to celebrate my daughter starting university, and while we had a lovely experience when we visited last October, this time was a letdown. The waitress was inexperienced and rude, the cocktails were not enjoyable, and the food was mediocre. Our bill came to £169.00 for four people, and we felt like we would have been better off going to a different restaurant. There were no fairy lights outside, which was disappointing as we had wanted to take some photos on the balcony. When we complained to the manager, they admitted to having difficulty with staff employment and that the waitress had not been properly trained. This level of service is not acceptable for a Hilton Hotel."

"Not too impressed with the chicken on sourdough sandwich I ordered for lunch. Both the bread and the chicken were dry and stale tasting. The chips were nice though, as were the other 4 meals ordered. The Eton Mess dessert was nice except it was smothered in Pistachio nuts. We sat outside and although you can't control the weather, there was an incident when the very large umbrella on our table, blew away. My young Grandson's reflexes saved a lady on the next table from what could have been a nasty crack on the head. My son had momentarily taken his foot off the base of the umbrella and after the incident realised it hadn't been weighted down with water/sand, making it totally unfit for purpose. Every person in the garden reacted in horror and yet not one member of staff even glanced out. I find it hard to believe they didn't hear the rumpus it caused. Other than that, when we arrived, the very mucky table was quickly wiped when staff were asked. Service was timely, considering how busy it was and tables were quickly cleared as customers left. Dogs are welcome and the 5 or 6 there, including ours, were well behaved and sociable. The untasty sandwich and fly-away umbrella were unfortunate and wouldn't stop me returning to this lovely old pub. I would suggest filling the weights on the umbrella stands though..."
