"We stayed for two nights, I wish it could have been four! We went on staffa tours and visited Tobermory distillery. Both were wonderful. But the best part of our visit was Highland Cottage and our wonderful hosts. Rooms were well appointed and very clean, although mattresses were a bit old. Still we rested very comfortably. The honor bar and living rooms were a great way to relax in a beautiful setting. However the highlight was our food. Dinner was incredible. The best food we've had in Scotland, and well worth the hefty price tag of 42 pounds each for a multi course meal. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return one day. Highly recommended!!!"

This restaurant is a little way out of town and this may explain why it was quiet. Menu choices were limited but food was good.

We dined at this restaurant during our 3-night stay in Tobermory, and it was hands down the best meal we had. The dishes were filling, delicious, and expertly prepared and presented. Highly recommended.

Great bed and breakfast with great hosts. The rooms were very cute and comfortable. Service was phenomenal. We also had dinner, which was delicious and plentiful! Definitely our favorite place we stayed in Scotland!

We had a wonderful experience at Highland Cottage. The room was lovely and had a beautiful 4 poster bed. The hosts, Dave and Jo, were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Jo's cooking was excellent. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Can't recommend this place enough, Jo and David made us feel right at home, they are a lovely couple running an amazing cottage and I'll recommend you book your stay in mull with them. My significant other had a birthday during our stay and they even got a candle for her and placed it in her sausage at breakfast, such a lovely place and couple!

Clean warm and the most brilliant attentive staff. Nothing was too much bother and always with a lovely smile. The short bread left in the jar every day was delicious and the breakfast was first class. Clean plates from us every morning. And if Carlsberg did showers WOW Very warm and powerful just what you need first thing in the morning. A really great place to stay John and Kate Wallis

My husband and I ate at Highland Cottage in April this year while on vacation on the stunning island of Mull. The food was outstanding, but what truly made our evening special was the hospitality of the owners. They were attentive but not overbearing, had a great sense of humor, provided excellent service, and were simply lovely people. I highly recommend dining at Highland Cottage if you are ever in the area.

Spent here 4 nights during our ventures on the Isle of Mull. The house has a beautiful style, lovely furniture, spacious room, really good atmosphere, and great location in Tobermory. Dave and Jo are excellent hosts, whom I can only admire for their hard work and non-negotiable approach towards quality. The food is superb, massive portions though. The best stake and cheese omelette I've ever had in my life. The hors d'oeuvres before dinner and the roast pepper soup appetizer are both heavenly. It felt like home, just better.

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
