"Nice little place next to the harbour. Food was acceptable if not overpriced for what it was. My food was the Cod giujons on a bap with fries. The bun was a little dry as the two giujons did not fill the bap, and there was only one lettuce leaf with no garnish, etc. Edible, but for the price, I would expect a little more. Fries were good and lots of them. Two adult meals and a child's meal came to over £36 without drinks, so it seems expensive. I would add that I overheard some of the younger staff swearing to each other but within earshot of my 4 Yr old granddaughter so not overly impressed although they were friendly and attentive with the customers. A mixed review. Would I go again? Maybe, if the price was lower and the staff kept their conversation professional within earshot of customers."

"The service was prompt and very friendly, but bit rushed especially at the end only 2 hours. It was a bit noisy but the ambience was pleasant. The starters were a bit overcooked my husband had prawns and I had the scallops. The steaks on the other hand were perfect and the sides and sauces were lovely, and dessert was scrumptious. Overall it was a lovely experience, will visit again"

"Visiting Crewe with my wife we decided to take an early lunch at Miller and Carter. Our choice of restaurant being influenced by an earlier experience at the Telford outlet. Receiving a warm greeting from Reception we were shown to our table by David, who was to be our server throughout the meal. The Fixed Price Menu seemed to meet our needs and we ordered starters of salt and pepper calamari and sticky chipotle chicken. The main course being two 7 oz Rump steaks, one served with a mixed salad and the other with onion loaf, tomato, and seasoned fries. Drinks comprised a glass of a very pleasing South African merlot and a Fevertree tonic water. The meal met with our expectations and the steaks (cooked medium) had just the right degree of pinkness. The dishes were well prepared, nicely presented, and the steaks in particular were full of flavour. Competitively priced at £16.25 per head for a 2-course lunch, or £19.25 if wanting a dessert, we thought it represented very good value for money. The restaurant gave out a pleasant ambience and the spacious seating ensured comfort in just the right setting. Mention should also be made of the washroom facilities which were as to be expected. Having spent a good number of years in Hospitality Management I could not fault our young attendant David, who we both thought performed his tasks to a high standard. Happy to recommend."

"had a great night stay here. the rooms have everything they need and love the fact that, although they do not do the breakfast, they receive fresh milk and müsli provided in their room. they are the little things that make a big difference! all staff were friendly and helpful. we also had a meal that was delicious. I had scallops as main and nabebie had sampi and we had pizzas for lunch the next day. would absolutely recommend to stay here and eat. Fab atmosphere with a beautiful log fire"

"We were staying at Griffon Forest and get 10% off the bill.It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we had pre booked a table.On entering the restaurant the noise was deafening and we were unable to hear what the waiting staff were saying.There was a large party there including very young children who would not behave and whose parents ignored what they were doing.At one point the children forced of the fire exits and still no rebuke from the adults.The staff were overwhelmed by the party but still managed to sort out the rest of the guests and soon the restaurant was full.My wife has to have Gluten Free food as she is Ceoliac and the menu caters for special diets.The food was very tasty and plentiful and once the children had gone it all quietened down.Advisable to check your bill as there is a suggested tip level from 12-18% but you can give your own."

"Managed to get a table at late notice which was good. Table was small for 4 persons and dogs were allowed in which sadly for daughter was not great as she’s terrified of them. Service was fine and meal arrived quickly. The menu online is not the menu offered on a Sunday as prices are more expensive than online. (Said £6.95/7.95 and upward online) Still for £9.95 not a bad Sunday lunch price however you really don’t get a lot of food. We got one bowl of veg between 4 plenty carrots, cauliflower and cabbage but not a lot of turnip 3 spoons and it was gone. A separate bowl of mushy peas. We did not get a lot of meat and one person had only a few shredded pieces on their plate and small spoonful of mash/roasts. One large Yorkshire. Food tasted nice just don’t expect a huge portion. Desert menu was plentiful priced around £5 each. We enjoyed deserts and quite filling. Drinks reasonably priced also."

"We regularly visit with family and love the reasonable prices great value and delicious food every time. I am however increasingly concerned about the stairlift which has worked intermittently for the last year or two..The lift is clearly not serviced regularly as it has not been working well for a long time.We always have issues going up in the stairlift less so on the way down) . Although this is frustrating my wider concern is that if there was a fire or emergency any disabled customers would have major issues leaving the building. I’m not convinced a risk assessment has been done either as this seems to me to be a major issue. Looking at the wires today revealed 3 loose wires and one that had been cut very visible to anyone looking) not sure we will visit as regular from now as I’m worried about my stepmoms safety and want to feel confident that she is safe xx"

"We were in Uppingham for the day, so popped in for coffee and cake at lunch time the chocolate orange cake was divine and the staff were knowledgeable about allergens in their food. There was a nice buzz with lots of people eating and drinking families, couples and groups. We went back for dinner, but weren't sure that it would feel like an eatery for the evening, but a slight change in background music made it feel more like a bistro, than a cafe. We ate from the lunch menu and it was the best meal that I have ever had! We had the burger £18) and both of us commented on how tasty the chips were. For pudding, we shared the chocolate torte and, again, the staff knew which allergens it contained. It was delicious! We would definitely go here again and would even consider travelling to Uppingham for an evening meal at Don Paddy's. We have already recommended it to our friends and family."

"So I have always walked past and wanted to try here and a friend actually told me he was going here as it's dog friendly. It was a wonderful experience to have a meal here. The food was great I ordered a large burger and it really was a big burger. It was well cooked and delicious, I was really impressed by the size. I wanted to try the steaks next time. My friend told me the steak was delicious and he enjoyed the drinks there. He had a few different beers on tap and red wines, all had good reviews. "Was recommended this place by colleagues and friends, thought I'd give it a try. Upon entering, there was nobody there to assist us to our tables (made reservations prior) so we had to search for someone to get us a table. I ordered the 18oz Iron steak, which was ok, nothing great but not too bad either. I found that the food was overpriced for it to be simply medicore in fact. I ordered a vanilla cheesecake for dessert, it seemed like it was taken out of the fridge straight away and had a very funny damp taste to it- if that makes sense at all. It did not taste fresh or good at all. Was horrible. The Mojitos ordered were bland mostly comprising of ice ratio and less drink- therefore just tastes like bitter water. Overrall, the food was below mediocre and kind of overpriced. On the bright side, the view is nice as its situated on the Westferry riverside overlooking the river Thames. Further, the ambience was good, but that depends if you like loud music and large crowds of noise. Would not be returning here again unfortunately."

"After almost 20 years visiting this little gem in Llandudno we ate there on Sat 24 Feb. On arrival we were very disappointed to see the usual fish board for starters and mains was all about steaks : 2 for £65 with a bottle of wine. Scallops a special together with a salmon and monkfish with mushrooms special. When we asked the waitress about the seafood she more or less said people want the seafood linguine. We asked about other fish ie crab, fresh Conway mussels, lobster, swordfish etc and she just replied it’s what we can get.! The scallops were tasty but a £5 supplement on top of the £35 for 2 courses. My salmon was just over based with garlic butter and the monkfish too herby with the seasoning and the mushrooms and tempura leeks made tge who dish greasy Such a shame as the place not at all busy and we sat as always downstairs in our costs. The wines were the same as when Don ran the restaurant. Next time we’ll ring ahead to see what fish is on the menu before booking"

"Went for a family lunch as I was told the food and service was excellent! It took the very rude waitress around 20 minutes to acknowledge us and come to take a drinks order. The drinks finally came to our table after her lengthy conversation with another member of the bar staff. To say the least I am truly astounded at her attitude. When our food finally arrived we witnessed the same rude individual approach a tall gentleman having lunch with his two friends and ask him to follow her outside. I personally was talking to the very friendly gentleman because I made a comment about the fish platter looking nice and I said I would get that next time. The gentleman and his friends were telling the kitchen lady how stuffed they were and was complimenting the chef. My family and I were watching the unprofessional waitress through the window as she was clearly being nasty to the tall lovely gentleman, he was very upset when he came back in. He was an absolutely lovely gentleman that was very grateful of the excellent food and portion sizes. Watching what had happened just put all of us off our meal because her behaviour was so disgusting. It has saddened me to witness such poor behaviour and we won’t be going there again."

"I've never been here and my friend had raided over it, so I decided to book it for his birthday as a surprise. I have booked a few weeks in advance and thought we would get a nice table, but once we arrived my booking name was for starter under the wrong name, second we were dumped in the edge of a walkway, we sat and ordered. we have to start garlic bread and we have not given any appetizers like other diners. my other half then ordered steak when he loved to choose what steak he got (which is what he loved so much about the restaurant) little we knew he didn't even come to pick up, they gave it to him simply. there was no water supply. Overall, eating was not so good, it was amazing as I was so excited to come to his favorite place when the service was there, then this place would be a hit. a shame."

"I went to La Lanterna on the off chance and was more than pleasantly surprised. In what looks to be a family run business the staff were friendly and thoroughly enjoyable to be around. The restaurant was extremely busy yet the service and food was top class. The food is typical Italian and although I only had Pizza and my companions simple pasta dishes they were all delicious. "Superb Pizzas...and very friendly crew !. Visited here with family on Saturday night..didn't have reservations and was very busy. We did try calling but we just got to leave a message. Anyway the friendly manager said the wait world be an hour but accommodated us in half. The staff are very friendly and all of them seem to be serving all the tables, albeit at times they tend to forget orders. But the advantage is that you don't get rushed and can have a relaxed time. The atmosphere is great and lively and is a trendy and energetic area of Manchester. The best part of the menu are the starters and the spectacular variety of pizzas.
