"Our visit to this restaurant was disappointing. It was very quiet, with only about 15 people eating. My colleague and I shared a Tomahawk steak, which ended up being more expensive than we were told. We had to wait 20 minutes for our starters, and then another 50 minutes for our main course. When it finally arrived, we had to send it back to the kitchen to be reheated because it had been sitting out and gotten cold. Our waiter Matteo started off nice but became less helpful once it came time to pay the bill. The bill included a 12.5% service charge, which I was considering asking to have removed. Overall, I would not choose to visit this restaurant again."

"the restaurant is in a hotel and does not look like the photos. it was still quite nice (we went into the bar area, as the traditional restaurant looked very similar to a typical hotel restaurant.) the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and eating was good (burger pasta.) it was a little on the expensive side, but not too bad and really nice quality. the wee were very expensive with the house bottles at £37.50 the house white but was especially beautiful. we shared a great delicious cheesecake. I am not sure I would go back there because I traveled a lot and try to avoid hotels, but it is a good place."

"Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to eat in season mayfair when I arrived, the restaurant was closed, tables stacked on top of each other, chairs chained and padlocked. there was a complete waste of time, not to mention, there was no announcement to show if there were any problems that had occurred, the number of restaurants was meaningless no answer. I went so far to check online to see the status of the restaurant, it said it was open, but was not the case. a complete disappointment"

"We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful. We chose to dine here because it was close to our hotel, and we are so happy we did. The cocktails were great, and our starters of crab ravioli and chicory and gorgonzola salad were delicious. Our main courses of chicken breast and spatchcock poussin were outstanding. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of Chablis with our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and plan on returning before we leave London."

I wanted to share my experience at your establishment, The Allegory, located at 1a Principal Place, Worship Street, London, EC2A 2FA. Unfortunately, my partner and I found our meals to be quite disappointing. My partner's chicken skewers arrived lukewarm and seemed stale, as though they had been sitting out for a while or were reheated. I ordered the vegan taco as a starter, but it was unbearably spicy, making it difficult for me to enjoy the meal afterwards. I question whether it should have been that spicy. For my main course, I chose the vegan curry, which was also lukewarm and unappetizing. I managed to take a few bites but felt embarrassed to leave most of it uneaten, so I requested to take it with me. However, when I exited the restaurant, I was still hungry. Given the total of £42.75, I felt the price was quite steep for a meal that we did not enjoy. I have heard wonderful things about your restaurant and wonder if our experience was just an off day. We were genuinely disappointed in our culinary experience and I felt it was important to provide this feedback. "pleasant location (as we are drawn from the dark tables on the back of the restaurant). I had a green salad bowl, which was totally uninspiring and a friend had the chicken kere that were processed on a stiel rubber-like right corner. fish and chips were greasy and tasteless. the burger was probably the best of baptism, but again nothing to be happy. a very disappointing ending in edinburgh after so many other beautiful dining and great culinary experiences elsewhere. bland, unimaginable and very disappointing avoid!"

"our breakfast was bad! my man ordered the filled banana-french toast. what he served was burned two halves, and very hard to chew French toast. a half of the toast had a small disc muddy pampered banane (so he did not end up eating part of the French toast to become sick) and another half of the French toast had no banana! my egg beedict was such a small part, half an English muffin and 2 small eggs. one was cooked and the other was runny (as should be an eier benedict.) I would like to point out, however, that the prices for the right prices for lidon, which are not acceptable to these Scottish foods. with two coffees, our bill was just over £30... a complete and total waste of money! the waitress had no idea of the food they served, we were shocked when our food arrived because it looked like we had ordered nothing. So we asked the staff if it was the right order, and they didn't know. So they took our food back to the kitchen and brought us the same food again. then another employee came to our table, looked at the food, asked for our food to take back to the kitchen and brought the same back to us! I don't want to say anything. avoid this restaurant."

"This restaurant is overrated, overpriced and overall a below average experience. We visited for brunch, the prawn and crab eggs Benedict was ok but nothing right write home about. The minute steak was too chewy and hard to cut with the steak knife they provided and when we told our waiter he offered another knife!!! They also offered to change it but advised it would all be the same! The blueberry pancake I ordered because obviously I couldn’t eat the steak was quite dense. I wouldn’t eat here again."

"Been twice now since they introduced their separate vegan menu and both times were so tasty! Tried the Mac and cheese and the BBQ pulled jackfruit fajitas! They have a sorbet as dessert currently but the staff said they are working on introducing other dessert options! "Harry's Bar at Ironmonger lane is possibly one of the best high end pubs in City. The pub has a dining space on the first floor and drinking area downstairs. It even has designated private smoking area if you wish to try one of its fine cigars, which as the pub claims, if enjoyed with the heating and music, makes you feel as if you are in Cuba! They have a good selection of rum to go with the cigars. Food is tastefully decorated and taste is top notch. Service is also good but what may pinch is the price. You may find price to be higher than average but it is certainly compensated by the quality service, ambiance and cigars which you can get here."

"The food and service were both excellent. As vegans, we had mentioned during our reservation that we preferred to be seated away from other diners who consume animal products. "We headed to The Chequers, a charming pub adorned in matching green hues, our anticipation for a delightful Bank Holiday lunch was high. However, regrettably, our experience fell far short of expectations. Upon arrival, we eagerly ordered the Italian antipasto as our starter, only to be met with disappointment. The selection appeared aged, lacking vibrancy, and unfortunately tasted stale and inedible. Our main course continued the trend of disappointment. The potatoes seemed to have been cooked days prior, lacking the freshness and flavor one would expect. To add insult to injury, the lamb dish appeared to have been hastily reheated in a microwave, resulting in an unappealing texture and taste. Frustrated by the lackluster quality of the food, we made the decision to send everything back—a disappointing outcome for what should have been a pleasurable dining experience at such a beautiful establishment. In conclusion, while The Chequers may boast a picturesque setting and inviting ambiance, the lack of attention to fresh, quality ingredients and reliance on reheated fare from days prior is a disheartening oversight. It is our hope that the management takes heed of such feedback and endeavors to restore the pub to its former reputation of serving freshly prepared, delicious meals."

"My friend I booked a table here for dinner as we had been here previously and loved it. When we arrived we asked if we could sit outside however the waitress said this is fine but would require the table back for half 7 (we arrived just gone 6) and that if we sat inside there would be no rush for giving the table back. We sat inside and most of the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food drinks were great aswell. However when it got to about 10 past 8 we were told that our time had run out on the table and we had to leave now and that when you book it says you have 2 hours despite a dessert menu being offered to us 10 mins before this. There was no heads up or prior warning given, the waiter then came over with the bill before we could even finish our drinks asking how we’d like to pay before we’d even discussed it. Once the bill had been paid and taken we were finishing our drink when the waiter came over for the third time and said you need to leave now and give us the table back and stood by the table waiting for us to stand up and go. Having been told there would be no rush to give the table back and not given any sort of 15 min warning so we could Atleast finish the drinks and request the bill ourselves the way this was handled completely ruined the nice food and drinks we’d had and rather than going to the bar we chose to go elsewhere because we didn’t feel welcome. Quite honestly it felt like we’d done something wrong and were being ushered out of the building. Really disappointing end to what was a nice meal out."

"I recently visited Frankie and bennys at the rock with my boyfriend. We couldn’t order on the app as it wasn’t working so the waitress was straight over and took our order. The starters come out pretty much straight away and were delicious! Garlic pizza...was worth it, however I got the Mac and cheese bites, and for the price of it you only get which I was slightly disappointed in. The mains took quite awhile to come out, but it was quite busy with the lunchtime rush, so didn’t mind waiting. I ordered the chicken Parma hero sub and it was honestly amazing!! recommend! Although don’t get a starter as it’s so big I couldn’t finish it, which I was upset about because it was so good! My boyfriend got the classic cheese burger, however it was very over cooked and didn’t taste very nice, looked like cheap quality meat. He hardly touched his meal which was a shame. Overall I was happy with the service and the meal, however don’t order the burger as you will be disappointed!"

"I haven't been to a Frankie & Benny's in years, so my girlfriend and I decided to have dinner there tonight. I started with mozzarella sticks, which were good, and she had cheese bacon potato skins, which she enjoyed, so we were off to a good start. I ordered a margherita pizza and she ordered bolognese. However, the cheese on the pizza was hard, congealed, and plasticky (definitely not mozzarella), so I had to pick a lot of it off. The pasta in the bolognese was a strange brown color instead of a red tomato sauce, and my girlfriend thought it tasted odd (some of the pasta was also congealed). We also ordered loaded lava fries, which arrived dry with no sauce, so I had to send them back to be made properly. The total bill came to nearly £50, but luckily they accepted my blue light card, so we got a 20% discount. If it weren't for the discount, I would have been even more displeased. We definitely won't be returning, so save your money and go somewhere that serves better quality food."
