"We visited here with friends. We had not been here for a while . Since then there has been a complete refurbishment. This is to a very high standard. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was beautiful and there was plenty of it. We only had Poppadams as a start which we were we were glad of as the main meal was more than sufficient. We all said that the price was good also working out at about £80 per couple which included a few drinks each. We definitely have plans to come back again."

"The decor is absolutely stunning, and the food is fantastic. The Lotus Chaat (contains gluten, milk, mustard, and wheat) is a modern twist on the classic Indian street snack, featuring crispy Eastern lotus, kale, pink daikon, and pomegranate. It's priced at £11.50. The Thai Sweet Corn Cakes (contains gluten and soya) are golden-fried corn cakes prepared in a traditional Thai style and served with sweet chili sauce; these are available for £9.50. The Butter Chicken Tikka Kofta (contains milk, mustard, gluten, eggs, and sunflower) features crispy panko-coated croquettes filled with butter chicken and cheddar, accompanied by turmeric-infused mayonnaise. Next, we have the RIB-LETS (contains gluten and soya), which are succulent short-cut lamb ribs that are slow-cooked, supposedly with star anise. Priced at £16.50, they are a must-try. The Pulled Nalli Gosht Masala Hot Dog (contains milk, gluten, sunflower, and mustard) features spiced lamb meat nestled in a hot dog bun, served with traditional piccalilli sauce for £12.50. Finally, the Duck Boti Kebab (contains mustard, sunflower, and sesame) consists of duck breast marinated in spices and cooked on skewers, served with a cherry and ginger chutney for £12.50. Overall, this place offers a delightful dining experience!"

"The restaurant is very nicely decorated but the food and service do not match to that experience. We were sat so close to other people on other tables it was like were dining with them. We attended pre concert and chose the concert menu. The appetisers came within minutes of ordering, there wasn't a lot for the price. The mains we had to wait over 45 minutes for which was not good and we kept being told it was on the way. The food when it came was average curry really. It had obviously been cooked in a huge batch as it was on the set menu so not sure why it took so long. The service was not great...we were never asked if the food was ok or if we wanted another drink. We only had Coke and this was rather expensive at £3 for a tiny bottle.... Overall i think the place is very nice but the food was average at best and the service poor. The set menu was £25 per person which was not value for what you actually got. We saw a 10% service charge on our bill which we asked to be removed. Tried it, but wouldn't go back again."

"Jahingir in St. Andrews exceeded expectations with their Christmas Day experience. The cozy atmosphere and child-friendly environment made for a memorable celebration. Our table overlooking the fish pond added a peaceful touch to the festive event. The lunch was exceptional, showcasing the chef's culinary skills with each dish bursting with flavors. The impeccable service and festive decor made it a truly special Christmas dining experience. Jahingir is a hidden gem for those looking for great food, family-friendly atmosphere, and tranquility. "Myself and my wife have been to Zayna four times during recent trips up the Chiltern line to London and it is, quite simply, fabulous. The curry is second to none in central London and as true Brummies, we know our curries . We have been, in previous visits to more expensive and well marketed Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani eateries in and around Marylebone and Fitzrovia one of which is even boasted that he unmissable hideousness of a table full of loadsamoney noisy oafs which I don’t seem to recall were part of that particular restaurant website’s sales pitch. In any case, none can touch Zayna. We had Mukhun Murgh, Aloo Gobi, and Tarka Dhaal. We accompanied our mains with the sublime garlic naan you simply must… peas pilau, and the garlic pilau chef’s kiss . So, we will keep going back. The hospitality from Shan and his staff is always one of the warmth and good humour. The cuisine is excellent. The atmosphere cosy, and the personal touches of a family run restaurant there for the keen eye to see. It’s worth it alone for the two magnificent hand carved mirrors that adorn one wall, that took one man and one chisel six months to complete. You must go."

"Salmon starter was very dry and tasteless. Mixed kebab had very little salad with it. Mains very salty. Naan bread not cooked. Cauliflower side dish was mainly potato. Overall was left feeling disappointed"

"I recently visited this restaurant because it is local and I had read some good reviews. It can be difficult to find a restaurant with a 5-star hygiene rating. However, I was not completely satisfied with my experience. The naan bread was delivered at the end of the meal, which the manager explained was traditional. My husband's lamb dish was chewy and tough, and when we mentioned this, we were told that this was how it should be. As we were leaving, I mentioned that I would not be returning, and the manager followed us out onto the street, arguing that my husband had ordered the wrong dish, which is why it had not been to our liking. My chicken kahari was decent, but my son's tali was mediocre at best. Despite the mixed experience, I would still recommend giving this restaurant a try, as the manager's behavior reminded me of characters from the show "Fawlty Towers.""

"This is the best Indian food we have had anywhere outside my mother inn laws kitchen. Authentic flavors, meat is tender, the mixed grill was to die for. Fish curry incredible and the biryani totally floated my boat, Service was prompt, and friendly, yes seating is a little tight and portions a little on the small side, but for this area it is still amazing value, you will not find a better Indian. I am eating the leftovers cold for breakfast : What a treat !"

"Sadly having to give 1 out of 5 due to the terrible experience with delivery. Food was delivered an hour and a half late. Was basically lied to when enquired by phone, ranging from its out for delivery, it’s left and should be there in 5 minutes, it hasn’t left yet as it’s on the hot plate, it’s leaving in 15 minutes, to the driver was delivering it and had a car accident and had to go to hospital. I sincerely hope the latter was not a lie, it’s a terrible one if it was, but I hope the driver was ok if genuine. Asked for a refund and to cancel the order and told could not get one as no one there to refund me. Food finally arrived. The food was actually really nice, but we were eating it so close to going to bed for the evening due to it’s late arrival, so even though the food was nice we didn’t really enjoy it. Suggest just honest with customers, if there’s a delay, explain why, we will understand. Will not use again based on this experience."

"The restaurant was dirty, both the inside and the dishes used. The food was way too spicy (and I like spicy food). When we spoke to the waiter to tell him this he said we should have asked for less spicy (they should have given us this choice when ordering). A normal curry or dansak is normally spicy but not to this level (Phall level). The waiters were keen, but a bit too clean, when he was taking our dishes away he done this so quickly that some leftover food landed on my trousers. I would recommend that the restaurant is cleaned properly, dishes cleaned properly, ask people what level of spice they would like"

"Dinner for 2. Return visit as I had been previously during the Eat out promotion with a friend and food had been excellent. Food was still very good although we thought the mixed vegetable platter starter was a bit greasy. Staff were very good and we had a nice evening. We would still recommend as there are some nice choices of the menu that differ from our usual Indian."

"I met up with old and new friends at this restaurant. We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The company was fantastic as well. There is limited parking available, but street parking is an option too. We had dinner and the cost was between £10-20 per person. I highly recommend trying the Lemon Pilau Rice."

"as always chef express has blown me away again! cook fabulous delicious food, always perfectly delivered on time. the Tandoori specialties are excellent in the did, and a personal favorite of me would be the sauces made fresh by the chefs themselves. with a series of unique recipes on an exciting menu and providing exactly the right balance between taste and flavor, it is definitely a first choice for me when ordering food! really satisfied with their service! will definitely order very soon and would recommend them completely different!"

"With stylish presentation, delicately flavours and silky sauces, Kouchin's menu includes poplar curry house favourites, but its their ‘Connoisseurs Choice’ of unique dishes which catch the eye. Kouchin's ‘Dom Phukt’ cooking tradition dates back to the days of they Moghuls but with addition of modern panache. I'd recommend Grilled Seabass Fillet with roasted pickling spices £12.95; Tawa Duck Breast marinated in garlic, ginger, mustard, coriander honey then grilled on a tawa. Served with stir fried rice, noodles a medium spiced sauce for £11.95, in soft cheese saffron with a crunchy crisped skin, but succulent pink flesh £12.95; or the Lobster In Goan Masala of coconut, star aniseed for £25.95."

"Disappointed with the food this time, as previously they food tasted way better. The naan bread tasted quite sour, it was hard and chewy. Also the tarka dhall didn't taste right. Don't know if it was because the food was cooked by a different chef or whether it was rushed as the restaurant was closing soon, (even though we had ordered 2 hrs before). The mixed grill however was okay."

"Balbirs provided an excellent experience as always, but with a touch of sadness. The ambience was great as usual, with a more festive atmosphere as diners enjoyed what was called their "last supper" at the West End location. Unfortunately, Balbirs is closing in the West End but will continue in Ayrshire. I can't help but wonder if they will still deliver..."

"Wendt for a meal with friends first time since lockdown. Had been before pandemic it was always great. Bur last nights food was even more amazing! Syed was most helpful and very efficient. We never had to wait long for the food but when it arrived omg! It was to die for. My friend had a mixture of starters and i had a balti so we dipped into each others (covid friendly ovs) we were not disappointed with a single thing. I would urge anyone to pay this restaurant a well worth visit. Keep up the good work chef and staff i will deffo be back soon. Excellent."

"I found an excellent deal for two for just £20. However, the naan resembled the kind you find in a plastic bag at the supermarket, meaning it wasn't freshly cooked in a tandoori oven. Additionally, I was charged an extra £1.50 for the tandoori chicken. Overall, despite these issues, it was still a great value for the money."
