"Me and my friends had a great experience at the merchant spice. It was easy to book on open table and this was the first time I'd ever used this service. The food was great, all of us had commented how tasty it was and I was so overwhelmed with choice I told the waiter to surprise me. He asked roughly what I like and his choice was perfect. I can't wait to go back their."

"the restaurant is very nicely decorated, but eating and service do not fit to this experience. we sat as close to other people on other tables as it was fed with them. we visited pre concert and chose the concert menu. the appetiser came within minutes of ordering, there was not much for the price. the main thing we had to wait for over 45 minutes, which it was not good, and we always said it was on the way. eating when it came, average curry was really. it was obviously boiled in a huge batch as it was on the set menu, so not sure why it took so long. the service was not great. we were never asked if it was in order or if we wanted a drink. we had only koks and that was quite expensive at £3 for a small bottle. Overall I think that the place is very nice, but eating was best on average and the service bad. the set menu was £25 per person who was not worth for what she actually got. we saw a 10% service fee on our bill that we were asked to be removed. it tried, but would not go back."

"We had a reservation for seven people, made through The Fork. We accidentally showed up an hour early, but the owner was very gracious and showed us to our table. The food was very good—I’m a tough critic because I eat Indian food at least once a week—with the lamb korma, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and the naans standing out. We didn’t try any deserts as the portions were generous and we were all full at the end of the meal. A special note about the service—attentive, helpful and positive. The owner ran out on the street after one of us accidentally left our scarf by the table. We’ll be back soon!"

"Zayna was a very pleasant surprise. It was very well recommended by a friend and definetely exceeded expectations. the ambience is lovely, the decorations really pretty and the staff was very attentive. we ordered samosas and chaat to share, outstanding tamarind sauce. the as mains grilled chicken with tandoori spices and a spinach and lamb stew with some pilau rice and delicious peshwari naan. Had to order more naan to finish off the dips! very pleasant experience; will definetely go back and recommend around! Hidden gem!"

"I recently visited this restaurant because it is local and I had read some good reviews. It can be difficult to find a restaurant with a 5-star hygiene rating. However, I was not completely satisfied with my experience. The naan bread was delivered at the end of the meal, which the manager explained was traditional. My husband's lamb dish was chewy and tough, and when we mentioned this, we were told that this was how it should be. As we were leaving, I mentioned that I would not be returning, and the manager followed us out onto the street, arguing that my husband had ordered the wrong dish, which is why it had not been to our liking. My chicken kahari was decent, but my son's tali was mediocre at best. Despite the mixed experience, I would still recommend giving this restaurant a try, as the manager's behavior reminded me of characters from the show "Fawlty Towers.""

"Salmon starter was very dry and tasteless. Mixed kebab had very little salad with it. Mains very salty. Naan bread not cooked. Cauliflower side dish was mainly potato. Overall was left feeling disappointed"

"I have been a fan of this restaurant for over a decade since I first discovered it. Located in the heart of London, it is easy to find and close to our hotel. The area feels safe even at night, with many pubs and people around. The restaurant has a street-level dining area for those with mobility issues, as well as a smaller back room and a downstairs area for larger groups. The food is top-notch and reasonably priced for central London. The staff have always been friendly and accommodating, which is why we always choose to dine here when in London for the night."

"Sadly having to give 1 out of 5 due to the terrible experience with delivery. Food was delivered an hour and a half late. Was basically lied to when enquired by phone, ranging from its out for delivery, it’s left and should be there in 5 minutes, it hasn’t left yet as it’s on the hot plate, it’s leaving in 15 minutes, to the driver was delivering it and had a car accident and had to go to hospital. I sincerely hope the latter was not a lie, it’s a terrible one if it was, but I hope the driver was ok if genuine. Asked for a refund and to cancel the order and told could not get one as no one there to refund me. Food finally arrived. The food was actually really nice, but we were eating it so close to going to bed for the evening due to it’s late arrival, so even though the food was nice we didn’t really enjoy it. Suggest just honest with customers, if there’s a delay, explain why, we will understand. Will not use again based on this experience."

"beautiful place to dinate with an impressive ambiente. and very high quality napali eat. we just love it. would like to visit again to explore more food quality is undoubtedly great. but the only complain we felt that parts are a little less to share. the starter are not divided between 2-3 adult. we like momos, but felt portions were a little less the king pron curry dish is beautiful. the total place is beautiful. good royal feeling, the service was also brilliant. good place to dine and hang out with family and friends. will be 8 out of 10th place to improve the size of the meal to a bit increase, compared to the cost of the items. and increase customer base..we did not find much in the midday hours compared to the size of the place."

Couple on another table left, no service. Starter arrived, nice. Main course arrived after a further min wait ... chaos. Never seen such bad service in this restaurant. Took hours end to end, will not rush back. Spoke to Manager, not really interested..,."

"After spending a long day at Loch Lomond, we decided to have dinner at this restaurant. Despite having a reservation, the manager informed us that he could not find it and made us wait even longer."

"The food was good, but the service needs to be improved. We arrived and informed the staff of our reservation, but they did not seem to understand or acknowledge the reservation. Two different staff kept asking me to confirm how many people were in my party despite that information being on my reservation. We sat down at the far end of the restaurant, by the kitchen door, which meant we could be away from the noise of the groups at the front. Unfortunately, we were still disturbed by the loud shouting and screaming of those other groups, who were presumably drunk. For autistic people like me, loud shouting or screaming by others inside a confined space can be distressing. We were not given a drinks menu and assumed that the restaurant did not have one. We were told by the person taking our order that the restaurant had everything regarding drinks. We were about to state which drinks we wanted when that same staff member started listing all the general drinks they had, like beers, wine and soft drinks. The staff member spoke over one shy/quiet person in my party and insisted that she order wine, even though she did not want that. The lack of a drinks menu meant we did not know how much drinks would cost us. The staff member further confused my group by failing to clearly explain the portion difference between a side vegetable curry and a main one. The person who originally ordered the side curry felt pressured into agreeing to order a main vegetable curry because the staff member kept talking at her. After we ordered two portions of vegetable samosas as starters, we were told minutes later that we could only have one portion. It was unclear why. We felt rushed into deciding which alternative vegetable sides we wanted because we didn 't have the time or space to think, consider and discuss amongst ourselves whilst the staff member towered over and talked at us. After we paid the bill, we were approached by the same staff member who showed me a card of some type and insisted that I tap or scan it with my phone to leave a review. I got the impression that the staff member was going to stand, wait and watch me as I did this, which I found uncomfortable. I told the staff member that I would leave a review later. I don 't think it 's right to tower over your customers after they 've eaten to insist they leave a review on travel sites and platforms like Google Maps. The food here is good, so I suggest ordering takeaways instead of dining in."

"I met up with old and new friends at this restaurant. We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The company was fantastic as well. There is limited parking available, but street parking is an option too. We had dinner and the cost was between £10-20 per person. I highly recommend trying the Lemon Pilau Rice."

"as always chef express has blown me away again! cook fabulous delicious food, always perfectly delivered on time. the Tandoori specialties are excellent in the did, and a personal favorite of me would be the sauces made fresh by the chefs themselves. with a series of unique recipes on an exciting menu and providing exactly the right balance between taste and flavor, it is definitely a first choice for me when ordering food! really satisfied with their service! will definitely order very soon and would recommend them completely different!"

"With stylish presentation, delicately flavours and silky sauces, Kouchin's menu includes poplar curry house favourites, but its their ‘Connoisseurs Choice’ of unique dishes which catch the eye. Kouchin's ‘Dom Phukt’ cooking tradition dates back to the days of they Moghuls but with addition of modern panache. I'd recommend Grilled Seabass Fillet with roasted pickling spices £12.95; Tawa Duck Breast marinated in garlic, ginger, mustard, coriander honey then grilled on a tawa. Served with stir fried rice, noodles a medium spiced sauce for £11.95, in soft cheese saffron with a crunchy crisped skin, but succulent pink flesh £12.95; or the Lobster In Goan Masala of coconut, star aniseed for £25.95."

"The four courses included a poppadom, a starter, a curry, and nan bread. The poppadom was disappointing as it was cold and stale, and only came with two accompaniments - a spicy yogurt and mango chutney. The onion bhajees for the starter were freshly cooked and tasty, but the accompanying salad was not fresh as the cucumber was starting to turn brown. The Chicken Korma was generous, hot, and delicious, and the nan bread was also good. The service was quick and efficient. I was disappointed to find out that they did not serve wine, although I later noticed they had lager in the fridge, raising questions about their drinks license policy. There was bottled water on the table, but it was not complimentary and cost over £3 if consumed. I was able to get a smaller bottle for £1.95 when I asked. Overall, I would recommend sticking to the freshly cooked dishes and avoiding the poppadoms and salad."

"went here with two friends last night, hadn't been there for a very long time, so was looking forward to a revisit. Good atmosphere in the restaurant, but we were sort of left to choose our own table, no one really did a meet and greet when we arrived. Service was good and we were given menus pretty quickly. We then placed our orders (we had brought our own wine . There were two things that irritated my husband and I though there was a diner who seemed to know the front of house guy and although he had come into the restaurant well after we had sat down, he was served with his food well before we were, and he also seemed to be smoking with a vape (and there was clearly a No Smoking sign on the door to the restaurant! . The food was enjoyable, but we found our particular dishes quite salty, and my husband's fish starter (cannot remember what it was called, but it was the first on the list of fish specials was quite dry and chewy. My salmon starter was delicious! Perhaps a touch overcooked, but delicious nonetheless! Our main courses were nice, but the Bhindi bhaji was drowning in a rich tomatoey sauce, and there seemed to be more tomatoey sauce than bhindi. The restaurant were only accepting cash payments, there was no explanation as to why we couldn't use credit cards. Not terribly keen on the lurid green raita either a bit on the sweet side really."

"Balbirs provided an excellent experience as always, but with a touch of sadness. The ambience was great as usual, with a more festive atmosphere as diners enjoyed what was called their "last supper" at the West End location. Unfortunately, Balbirs is closing in the West End but will continue in Ayrshire. I can't help but wonder if they will still deliver..."

"I found an excellent deal for two for just £20. However, the naan resembled the kind you find in a plastic bag at the supermarket, meaning it wasn't freshly cooked in a tandoori oven. Additionally, I was charged an extra £1.50 for the tandoori chicken. Overall, despite these issues, it was still a great value for the money."
