"We visited on a Sunday lunchtime in early August to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We had booked and were offered a table inside the restaurant (pub? which was all but empty while it was a nice day outside. We asked if we could be seated outside to be able to enjoy the weather and to watch the world go by. We were told very rudely If there 's a table out there then you can eat out there, but you can 't run a tab and you have to order at the bar . We did as we were told, trying to make light of the rudeness. To be fair, it was only one of the staff who had this unfortunate attitude. We ordered drinks at the bar and then our food There 's a 30 minute wait the rude server told us. Dressed Crab, Mussels, and a fish and chips. Turned out there were no mussels left, so we ordered another fish and chips. The food, when it arrive (not as long as 30 minutes was ok, but only ok. My mother 's fish and chips was overdone and dry. Mine was less well cooked, but still rather bland and fish was dry. The whole experience was rather disappointing. We cut our losses and left to eat an ice cream elsewhere. It would hurt any of the staff to crack a smile and perhaps a lesson in manners and customer service wouldn 't go amiss."

"we had an absolutely magical evening. it was my friend's birthday and veronica and rhiannon took care of us so well! Veronica was excellent with her suggestions and recommended, not to mention her humor and her gast friendry as a whole! rhiannon was so beautiful and friendly to us, so patient with all the little questions and made the night so smooth for us. She even helped us to make some amazing pictures to immortalize the experience. eating was brilliant; absolutely delicious, came in good time, and very well prepared. compliments to the chefs! special word for the lychee sorbet and yuzu eis, for dying. also the beautiful birthday desert they gave us was fantastic! overall a brilliant experience 20/10"

"beautiful restaurant with view of the bar, beautiful outside seats, if the weather allowed. service was friendly and attentive. had to start muddles with sea vegetables, which was good, but very salty, perhaps the meergy pleasure to sell some salt. monkfish was excellent and cooked, seasoned perfectly. no place for dessert so order a Macchiato coffee, but got a cappuccino. good wine list and cheap, **** mary could have been better, as it does not season and served with too much ice makes it watery."

"Having spent a number of holidays on various Greek islands over the years, I know a thing or two about Greek food. If you're looking for authentic Greek cuisine, give this place a miss. Apart from a very obnoxious and sarcastic waiter, the food was extremely bland. I always thought Moussaka was a dish made from lamb and contained aubergines, not made from beef with no aubergines! It was also served in a dish which led me to believe that it had been prepared in advance and stored in a fridge/freezer. The Meze was lacking a number of elements with a stingy single Dolmades (stuffed vine leaf) per person. The dips were also lacking in taste and may as well have been bought from a supermarket. "The chef is brilliant here. My son has a restricted diet and they bent over backwards to accommodate us. I had the tempura squid which was melt in the mouth, everyone knows how difficult squid is to cook and this was top notch. The main course was a tuna steak salad, nicely cooked with an oriental twist to the salad. My companions were equally impressed they had the mussels which were so fresh they still smelled of the sea, and the pan fried sea bass I am told was absolutely delicious. I didn’t take pictures I was too busy enjoying! Check it out!"

"The staff are so warm and friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious Greek dishes. Lively atmosphere later in the evening. Our waiter asked us to vacate our table when we had finished for a new group of people, but then gave us 2 free Amarettos each, on the house, for our trouble of moving table. No trouble at all. Will definitely be returning. Very reasonably priced too. Thank you."

"We were taken care of by Sharlene who was just as friendly as she was efficient. The first pre course we had was the best food of the night. It was called a soup but was really an espuma an aerated liquid (by whipping siphon), it was served with with some herb oil. Truly fantastic. The bread served alongside was fairly mundane. I then had the venison which looked like it was cooked under vacuum, or with unmatchable skill just perfect edge to edge pinkness with a great sear. Great plating as well. The raspberry tart was similarly exceptional, but the sticky toffee pudding could have been better. The syrup was not thick enough and the taste was not right. It was not bad, just didnt meet the standard of the rest of Monadh's fare. Excellent restaurant with very friendly staff, we look forward to our next visit."

"open on a Sunday that is so populated for brunch, boiled eggs perfect, but beans were a little watery and loaded with mushrooms -can with a bit of a variety on the veg in the veg fry up. Sausage was baked moshee by veg in kartoffeln with not much texture - could do with a better veg sausage. hash brown was perfect, but I would have liked two instead of so much toast/moushrooms. orange juice was super freshly squeezed and amazing. will be back to try other menu options - see a lively place with native."

"I came here on a midweek evening with a friend. It wasn 't particularly busy 3 tables max were occupied. Food I had the special a meat and pasta dish which was unfortunately swimming in its own grease, but it was passable. A late middle aged man was serving, who was helpful and friendly, but was obviously rushed off his feet he may even have been doing the cooking and serving at the same time. A late middle aged woman, who turned out to be the owner, was sat outside with her dog and a friend. Towards the end of our meal, she moved inside. She later turned her hand to waitressing, but this was evidently not her forte. When we 'd finished, our polite request to split the bill seemed to create a massive drama for her, I 'VE PUT IT [THE SUM] INTO THE [CARD] MACHINE NOW , she snapped. After her meltdown, she handed the job to her (presumably) employee, to whom she spoke like he was a dog. I really felt for him. She proceeded to slag us off to her friend, even though we were sat only about 3 metres away from them, in the same (quiet) room. Either she is a bitter individual, or was just having a bad day and took it out on us. Regardless, she had a mare and I would not recommend the place. No problem with the no doubt long suffering guy though."

"I tried this restaurant for the first time and was very impressed. It is definitely the best breakfast option in town. We ordered sausage, egg, and cheese batons, which were delicious with perfectly cooked eggs and tasty sausage. "in the frame of a virgin experience we had a night in the crowne plaza marlow, which included a three-course dinner and breakfast. the meal was absolutely delicious with four choices per cursor. the presentation and taste were of a very high standard and a very pleasant surprise for a hotel restaurant. beautiful supplements made it extra special like camramelized nuts and a macron with the tarte tatin for dessert- see photo. I dropped a star because unfortunately the service did not meet the high standard of the meal. we waited a long time to give our order, our starter came before our drinks, the waiter had to be reminded of our water and there was a long waiting period before they took our dessert order. we were also not given any bill at the end of the meal, as it was part of our Virgin package, but at the review from the hotel the next day the congratulation without our approval was added - this is a real annoyance from me and I asked that it be removed. it's a shame that we could not just tap the chefs. the next day the breakfast was excellent. it was self-serving and there was a huge selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, chalk, toast, cold meat, cheese, baked and a complete English breakfast with high-quality products to choose from."

"The restaurant was quite busy for a Monday, but I waited over 90 minutes for a cheeseboard. When I chased after about 50 minutes, I was told by the supervisor that they were working on it. The supervisor later came and asked if it was the burger I had ordered, even though I had confirmed it was the cheeseboard. After waiting for 90 minutes, I went to the bar and canceled my order. However, a staff member informed me that they couldn't refund me and I would have to see reception. This was a disappointing customer service experience. The only positives were the lady behind the bar who tried her best to help in a courteous manner, and the guy on reception who handled the situation professionally. Overall, it was a bad experience for a simple cheeseboard order."

"We were initially impressed with the appearance of the restaurant. However, our experience quickly went downhill when our waitress seemed to have no knowledge of the beer selection or the menu. Despite our request for a burger without tomato, it was served with tomato. When we pointed this out, the same burger was simply returned to us with the tomato removed, which was disappointing. Thankfully, no one in our party was allergic to tomato. Overall, we were unimpressed with the service and the atmosphere of the restaurant. We likely will not be returning. On a positive note, the exterior of the building was quite nice, but the interior felt more like a community hall and lacked any special charm."

"Limited menu was not good. Top layer of natchos on top were burned, white bait was overcooked. Halloumi was cold with grill marks, not fully cooked, it was also served with salad with no dressing. My burger was fine, however feel that meals are primarily focused on the ability to be stuck into a deep fryer and heated reheated as opposed to being cooked. Didn't overly complain at the time as the servers were so young and pleasant, we had discount and previously we have had various good meals there. However this was not a good quality experience and we will not be rushing back anytime soon. Also whilst I understand that the current situation drives no tablecloths, table decorations nor proper condiment containers but it makes the overall area pretty drab, dull and dark"

"This is OUR local pub when we visit York. Right near our apartment. What we love is that there are lots of regular locals in...a sign of a good pub...some have been drinking here for 40+ years. The last time we went in for an afternoon quick half...lets just say it was 10 pints each later...fab afternoon and lovely customers both regulars and tourists. Lovely bar area...with open fire when it 's chilly...very quaint and always customers in to have great conversation with. Lovely lounge area too...and upstairs is where they serve the food. We had a Sunday lunch which was awesome with a massive fresh yorshire pudding. We have been in on quiz night which was great fun...and a few times when they have had live music...which is a great atmosphere and gets everyone singing along. The staff are so polite...always smiling and so helpful and friendly too. Proper old traditional pub...great staff...great place. We will be back."
