"The atmosphere was casual yet elevated, and the service was excellent, perfectly complementing the meal! We visited for lunch to try their prix fixe menu, and we enjoyed a mackerel dish, chicken with pea risotto, and sorbet for dessert. The salty mackerel was well-balanced with the milder flavors of the cake and fennel, and the freshness of the fish was not overpowering. The chicken, cooked sous vide, was very tender, even the breast. There was a generous amount of butter in the risotto, making it incredibly smooth! The crispy parmesan "cracker" was delightful. I sampled several sorbet flavors and must say that the strawberry was definitely my favorite; it might be the best strawberry sorbet I’ve ever had (I admit, I’m not an expert on sorbets, so my experience is limited... but it truly tasted like freshly sweetened strawberries!). The vanilla ice cream had real vanilla beans in it (delicious!), and for those who enjoy more adventurous flavors, the fig sorbet tasted just like a fresh fig. Highly recommended!"

Had a brilliant meal here yesterday the night before we started on the West Highland Way. The food was magnificent, very reasonably priced and the waiting and front of house team were cheerful, attentive and made our evening really pleasant. It was nice to see a restaurant busy on a Wednesday evening. Would thoroughly recommend. View menu

I’ve dined at many wonderful restaurants over the years, but this one truly stands out among the best. The quality is exceptional. The presentation of the dishes is stunning, and the flavors are even more impressive than their appearance—everything looks fantastic! They also offer a nice selection of wines; I highly recommend trying the Cremont. The desserts created by the chef are outstanding. In fact, everything that comes out of the kitchen is remarkable. It’s one of the rare places where I would be happy to order anything from the menu, knowing it would be both delicious and visually appealing. The chef is incredibly talented. If you appreciate good food and are looking for excellent val...

We were taken care of by Sharlene who was just as friendly as she was efficient. The first pre course we had was the best food of the night. It was called a soup but was really an espuma an aerated liquid (by whipping siphon), it was served with with some herb oil. Truly fantastic. The bread served alongside was fairly mundane. I then had the venison which looked like it was cooked under vacuum, or with unmatchable skill just perfect edge to edge pinkness with a great sear. Great plating as well. The raspberry tart was similarly exceptional, but the sticky toffee pudding could have been better. The syrup was not thick enough and the taste was not right. It was not bad, just didnt meet the st...

"We went here on 3 September. If my review was only about the food, I 'd give five stars, as it was excellent value for money at £25 for five small courses on the 'total trust ' menu. It 's certainly worth that price and more. My only criticism concerning the food was the lack of variety. I know the whole point is to put 'total trust ' in the chef, but three fish courses was a little excessive. This didn 't bother me as I love fish, but my mum, who I was dining with, was a little disappointed. The service had a lot of glitches. We really couldn 't understand the man who was serving us, but that 's nobody 's fault, of course, and we would never be critical just for that, but there were other problems. I got given the wrong wine to start, but it was perfectly pleasant, so I didn 't say anything, thinking that it was just a one off error. We then ordered bread and butter when he came over to the table it never came for 20 minutes, during which time other people had ordered the same thing with other waiters after us and got it. He clearly hadn 't put the order in and we had to chase it up. I was asked if I wanted 'cheese or dessert for my final course ' and I picked cheese he had to come over and tell me that it wasn 't available on the menu and that he made a mistake, which is fine, but it was then made clear that I would have gotten both and that the cheese was just an additional course, which wasn 't made clear originally. I also ordered a double espresso to finish my meal, but when it came it was a single. I mentioned this to another woman passing who rectified the situation. My mum thought she overhead the waiter saying 'he said a single, not a double ', but I can verify this, however I can say that I definitely didn 't say that. The man who made all the mistakes said that the espresso was on the house, but, somewhat predictably at this point, it was added to our bill. We enjoyed the aspect of guessing what ingredients were in each dish and being told by the waiter how much of it we got right or wrong. The waiter said we got everything right on one of the courses but then also said the table next to us got everything right on the same course, despite having two different answers. It seems a shame to come up with an interactive and novel concept only to have one waiter who appeared not bothered enough to actually look at our answers properly. We might go back as the other waiting staff seemed excellent and the food was very good, but we 'll not be in any rush..."

"The Finsbay is under new management and sorry guys you are making a mess of what used to be a great place to eat. We were there yesterday. The menu choice was not nearly as varied as it used to be. My wife said her choice was ok. I had a chicken burger and chips. It was eatable however a piece of fried chicken dipped in buffalo sauce with one thin slice of tomato, a gherkin the size of a toddlers pinkie and a slimy leaf of wilted lettuce on a bun with chips wasn’t good for £14. Ridiculous really. Macdonald’s do a superior burger with more ingredients and far tastier for less than half that price. The quality of food is nowhere near the standard it was before. I did speak with the manager and explained why I didn’t like the lunch too. No offer of discount was made. The place used to be buzzing even on a Wednesday afternoon, not now though. I really wish their management fix the issues on menu selection, food quality and ridiculous price because I want them to be successful in a tough business these days. I hope they are listening because the good people of the area deserves better than this and I know they can do better. I don’t want this restaurant to close over fixable issues. We won’t be going to this restaurant again until they improve the menu, quality of food and get a handle on the ridiculous prices.
