"My wife was treated at UCLH for a RARE cancer and whilst she was being treated there, we visited this amazing authentic Mexican restaurant. On Valentines day we revisited the hospital to donate the money raised from the charity I set up in her honour. This was my Valentines gift to my soulmate. I had to re book whilst being in London, so the only place I could go was this amazing restaurant. I can not tell you how special it was for me and my beautiful daughter to sit there enjoy the unbelievable food, the truly loving atmosphere, and remember my time there with my late wife. Daniel the owners son was touched and felt our journey. What a true gentleman. He is a credit to his parents and the restaurant. I will 100% be back when I am next in London. Thank you all for such a special evening."

"Really enjoyed our visit to Munch following the change in ownership and would highly recommend it based on our dining experience. Lovely staff, great service, warm atmosphere and a delicious meal. Though we only had chicken crunchies, burgers and fries everything was served served hot,...fresh and and to a very high standard. The burger was the best I’ve had in a very long time, the chicken crunchies superb and the accompanying salad and delicate dressing delicious. Will definitely be ordering a takeaway during lockdown and ask others to support so we can dine in again as and when they reopen. Nice one Munch, thanks!"

"The restaurant and bar has a lovely atmosphere, and the cocktails are quite good. However, they were late in seating us, and it took 20 minutes for us to order drinks even after we seated ourselves. The food was disappointing; the seabass ceviche was overcooked and very fishy with little flavor. Overall, everything took a long time to arrive, and it was difficult to get the attention of the staff. The experience felt a bit chaotic and disorganized."

"I visited this place with my partner for dinner. Ordered a starter salad as a main dish from the chef's specials. Salad was tasty however it arrived on a side plate and certainly not a dinner portion size, for double the price of £14. Prawns were batter flied too so not really much protein on the plate to satisfy the hunger. It definitely wasn't worth the money. Ended up having some Jerk chicken off my partners dish (which was delicious) and more food when I got back home because I was still very hungry. I was offered a side dish by the waitress but I wasn't prepared to pay any extra for the meal. After the main, my partner asked for a gealic coffee (coffee with whisky) but instead he got a plain cappuccino. Food tasty enough, experience didn't live up to expectations. We will not be back. Waiting staff nice and welcoming."

"Music is ridiculously loud, and this place is understaffed. What staff there are were ok in the beginning, but seemed to quickly lose interest. Our cups and plates piled up until we asked 2 or 3 times for them to be removed. Our bottomless nachos indeed had a bottom, as we found it and no one ever came to refill. Sat there for 45 mins after finishing our food and weren't offered more drinks or the bill were just ignored. The bill came with a 30 quid service charge on it which given we'd had a dirty table for most of the night seemed a bit excitable. Pricey, passable food in small portions, inconsistent service, not enough staff and those who were there did not care that much."

"We had to wait 45 minutes after ordering breakfast. When I asked after 20 minutes, if they had forgotten us, they didn't apologise but came up with the silly excuse that all ingredients are fresh compared to other cafés. I've been living in the UK (mainly in London) for 15 years. Do they think, they are the only café with fresh ingredients? It's not rocket science to prepare a breakfast or do they actually go to a nearby farm to pick the ingredients? Maybe that's what took so long, who knows?"

"I went to Casa Mexicana with my partner for dinner whilst visiting Bristol. The food here was as good, if not better, than when I was cooked for by a Mexican family in Anaheim. The enchiladas were incredible and so filling, but not like the rip-off ones that you find meal kits for over here. It was classic Mexican and full of flavour. My partner had the chicken with rice, which tasted like it had been tenderising all day. These, plus the duck starter, tasted like you were visiting someone’s home and they were cooking for you. The atmosphere of low-lighting and dark interiors makes you feel you aren’t in England anymore, and mirrors the warmth and homeliness of the food. We will eat here every time we visit Bristol! Tip: Make sure you order the raspberry margarita. You will not regret it!"

"REVIEWED AS PART OF THE WORLD CUP OF BREAKFASTS:El Vergel describes itself as a Latin American and Mediterranean caterers. I’m reliably informed that the menu is mainly Chilean inspired, which isn’t top of most peoples lists when it comes to breakfast. However, the weekend brunch menu here is extensive and is served from 10-4 on Saturdays and Sundays. It is a little bit ‘out of the way’ and probably felt more so on a Sunday morning than it would do during the week. It is a 10 minute walk south of the foodie mecca of Borough Market and 5 minutes from arty Union Street The atmosphere is relaxed, concrete and wooden benches are offset by colourful artwork, graffiti on the walls...read more"

"We visited on Mother’s Day as a party of six. We had a nice time and the atmosphere was lovely. Most of us had the roasts, either beef or lamb. The meat was perfectly cooked, as were the vegetables, beautiful crunchy roasties and gorgeous cauliflower cheese. The roasts did not disappoint. Very good. One of our party had a burger which sadly was not enjoyed, he described it as wet and greasy , the grease had saturated the bun. It’s described as coming with all the accompaniments which were really good chips and a dump of rocket on the side of the plate. This is one of our pet hates, no effort or thought into offering a seasoned and interesting little side salad, just rocket is just not good enough. No dressing on that either so that was a disappointment. Starters were fantastic, the chowder and ravioli were very much enjoyed and the Tiramisu and sticky toffee puds were great. Service was fine. 5/6 of us really enjoyed our main courses and the roasts are really very good. Just a shame about the burger."

"BEAUTIFUL!!! We finally managed to come and it did not disappoint. After several unsuccessful attempts, we have fell in love with Sacred Grounds. The food is fantastic, the coffee is great and the owners are so lovely we even asked if they could open one in Hayle! We will definitely visit again on our next visits. Highly highly recommended. "I myself and the girls made a spontaneous boxing stop here after a weed went to foot on a fresh, sunny day. a change from our usual hunting in portobello, we have made the decision to try this place on the basis of some recommendations, and my own curiosity, which ran past it a few times. at the arrival we met from a warm and splashy guy who showed us on our window table. the interieur was simple, cute and cozy with a relaxed, unobstructed atmosphere. I had not expected much more than a standard sea (good close enough) caffe, especially when I spied the '2 courses for £6' menu. my appetit was 't too fertile and I felt a tad of two curses at midday intimidated. So I decided to use the black...read more"

"If I could give this place a 0 I would. Spent alot of money in here to be told to leave after 30 minutes, because the security could not handle a drunk woman who was picking fights with everyone at the club. They asked this woman to leave after hurting my friend unnecessarily, causing her to be very upset, and after she had finally felt okay they forced us all outside into a vulnerable situation with the woman who was picking fights. This meant that we were stranded in shoreditch in a very uncomfortable and dangerous situation. There was absolutely no sympathy, no effort to understand the situation at all. Would not recommend going here, overpriced place for what it is with extremely inconsiderate staff members. This does not apply to all staff as majority were lovely except for the 3 individuals working at the entrance of the club. Hope nobody ever has to go through what we did. This has put us off ever coming back to london. Avoid at all costs, not to mention 2 individuals who groped the girls dancing next to us, not a safe place to be at all."

"vegan breakfast was just full of oil. I don't like to be bored so they didn't want to, and can't have sesame infunded spinach as I have an allergy. but no swaps or subs meant that I paid the full price for no complete breakfast. the tellers are full, but full of all cheap things like kartoffels and mushrooms. tofu was a tiny amount, and very bland. I barely fought to stop eating, but I felt my inside sides were slippery with the whole oil, so I had to stop. very expensive for unsatisfactory and cheap made foods. I hate to leave bad critikens, as people must live, but I feel that the other reviews here are not the experience we had. also my coffee went cold after 2 sips (I make coffee at work all the time, it is not difficult to heat the cup first"

"Visited today and was amazed at the lovely friendly staff and excellent food. Prices very reasonable. Had coffee and a sandwich. Very large portion and coffee was lovely too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Disabled friendly for wheelchair access. Toilets kept clean too. Great location with lovely scenery. Disabled parking available outside shops next door a few shops along. Will be back again. Thumbs up to the hardworking staff making this a warm and friendly bistro. WiFi available too. Went to Sterling Mills shopping centre only 5 min drive from bistro with loads of bargain designer outlet shops. Also plenty shops and walks nearby bistro. So give this excellent Bistro a try and you won't be disappointed."

"Went for a family meal. Pub was very dated, service from staff was really quick, friendly waitresses. Been wanting to go for ages having had a lot of recommendations from friends about different dishes- noticed on the menu that the grilled cheese sandwiches and gyros people have raved about weren’t on the menu? Not sure if they had a simplified menu due to covid? Also you don’t do starters?! Unsure why? One of our favourite things about coming to a restaurant as a family is ordering a variety of starters just so we can have a pick at different food. Myself and kids ordered the burgers, can I say the portion sizes are absolutely huge and even though I have a big appetite I could have shared a main meal. Very good value for money, chips were delicious, burger was a bit dry but definately not the worst we’ve had. Would come for another visit but hope you extend the menu"

"This is the teaching restaurant of Hackney Community College, but I was rather impressed by the food. Comfortable space, good soundtrack and a pretty outdoor area in the back in nice weather. We shared the asparagus to start, which was blanched then griddled and served with a tasty lovage alioli. Good dish and nicely balanced. Nice texture on the home made alioli. My companion's main of hake was really good. Crispy skin. The potato and chorizo accompaniments worked well. My shrimp burger was a little too uniform in taste with every bite the same. Nice deep fried burger though, and the mayo based sauce was surprisingly peppery and full of capers. We shared a dessert of salted caramel and amaranth pot. I liked the accompanying cake but the pudding was too creamy for my taste. Oh the other hand, my companion who loves rich desserts was ecstatic. Service was friendly but could be a little haphazard. Our waitress forgot to bring the lemon my companion asked for to accompany his hake. Happily my shrimp burger did come with quite a large wedge of lemon that we could share."

"A really good dinner venue which is sensibly priced, has a great young team, a varied menu and a really eclectic wine list with some great wines (and value on it. On the wines, we started with a carafe of the white wine of the month pinot Gris and blanc mix, which was excellent and onto a Sicilian red (see photo . We shared 3 small plates, all of which were excellent, and the corn dish had some Indian spices which enhanced it, but didn’t overwhelm. Tomatoes with capers and anchovies was subtle as I find anchovies can overwhelm, and this didn’t. Cheese with asparagus also light, and our nephew polished off a plate of bread (3 types . Our waiter suggested that if we wanted a rotisserie chicken (with chips and salad best chips I have had in ages! , we order it then because it would take an hour. That order went in immediately, by the time we had ordered drinks and finished off the starters, the chicken arrived. Delicious and we took some home. Desserts were a little disappointing after the high bar of the previous dishes: but the fruits in the two dishes were lovely. Couple of sweet wines and we were off. £260 for 3."

"Visit from April 2022... We revisited this branch as we had a gift card, the waiter remembered us from last time when we mentioned about our allergies. The waiter was really nice but I felt sorry for him as everyone was asking him to take their orders and he was the only staff member present on the floor. The food was very enjoyable, we ordered 2 Chicken Quasadilla, 2 Mushroom Quasadillas, 2 Sweet Potato portions and Califlower Wings. We were able to ask for our mayo to be out of our meals and on the sides instead which was great as we could are it as we wished. It took a long long time to ask for a dessert afterwards, we had to keep trying to get the attention of someone to serve us which took around 20-30 minutes. At the end we were trying to scan the QR code (like my previous review below the QR code does not work! We tried on three different devices and over three different tables QR! The receipt shows a surcharge which you can ask for it to be taken off, it would be great for the QR code to work as then you feel like you can take it off if you felt like it wasn't an enjoyable experience, we took the gift card to the till and it took around 30 minutes to sort out! Ridiculous. The staff member was apologetic but it caused us to miss out train, it should be much easier to use a gift card. Think that's the last time we will visit here as the ending has become too stressful. Visit from Feb 2022 ... First time visiting a Wahaca Branch. Staff were very friendly and they asked regarding allergies which is very important. Lots of Vegetarian options which is brilliant, we ordered the Mushroom Club, Chicken Club, Patatas Bravas and a Halloumi and Pineapple Taco which was free. The Freebie was very very cold, it felt like because it was free they didn't care how it was presented? The Patatas Bravas were luke warm. The rest of the food was really nice especially the Mushroom Club which I would have again. We were going to order two lots of Patatas Bravas but we're adviced just to buy one because of the size.... We wish we had bought two lots as there wasn't enough to share one portion. Ordered through person but had to pay through QR code which didn't work, so waiter had to do it on their phone which made us feel uncomfortable and stupid... Personally either order through an app and pay at the time or just order through a person and pay through a person, don't do a mixture. Restaurant was clean and toilets were nice and clean which I always check. Knocked a star off for the cold/Luke warm portions of our meal and also the QR system not working correctly (Side Note: I have paid via QR codes before so know how they work so I am experienced with them so think many people will struggle to pay like this."
