Casa Mexicana Bristol

Amazingly tender pork in the puerco carnita which went down so well with a glass of red! Nachos also scrumptious and Prosecco so smooth and enjoyable. All round a great experience and very authentically Mexican. Love it!

Casa Mexicana is a great spot just off of Gloucester Road. Always such good food and a friendly atmosphere. Owners and staff make you feel relaxed and welcome. Also excellent value for food quality and portions! Support local businesses

Nice place with nice drinks. Music is too loud. Waiter Nikos is fantastic though, he went the extra mile to cater for our needs. Kitchen closes at 12:00 and you cannot get any tapas with the drinks, pity. Thanks to Nikos, we got some nachos. View menu

The food at Casa Mexicana is outstanding. It is always served hot and amazing. Hector and his staff are the best. Their service is above and beyond any other. They moved to their new location at 6600 W Central from 45th and Woodlawn in Bel Aire. They are back in business and in a bigger venue. I promise you will love the food and the service. Go enjoy it for yourself.

We last went here about 20 years ago and we thought, as the weather was so nice, we would try and get a table outside. The staff were really friendly and helpful but the food was mediocre. The prawn starter was muddy tasting. I had the Enchiladas and it tasted like the chicken had been reheated. Portions were huge, far too big. The fajitas were much better and arrived sizzling.

We were shown to our table by a friendly waitress and provided with some water whilst we chose our food. We shared some nachos to start which were very tasty and then followed with steak fajitas. We ended with lime pie and a chocolate brownie. Everything was well cooked and seasoned. It was a Saturday evening so the restaurant was busy but this added to the ambiance and did not affect the standard of service. We will return. View menu

Definitely worth the prices as they gave huge portions and all our dishes were super flavourful. We left with happy bellies. We weren’t able to get to dessert which was a shame as their dulche de leche churros and lime pie were really calling out to us. We usually have room for dessert but because they gave us a lot of food (which is always a plus), we couldn’t have dessert but that’s going to be our excuse to come back! We’re definitely making it our mission to return before the end of the year to try their desserts. Both the place and food felt very authentic which really added to the experience. The staff were lovely too!

PhilTraveller- haven’t been here for such a long time… and it didn’t fail to delight and rekindle memories of some great Mex food. Shared veggie Fajitas — massive portion of chunky spicy veg with all the sides. Amazing choc churros for pudding (one portion enough for two to share as a little sweet bite to round off). Casa Mexicana food is just so much better than other alleged Mex eateries. We’re tried a few in the area they just can’t do it! The place is still painted bright orange etc inside is informal and noisy. Staff a comic mix of authority and inexperience … but plenty of them and all very willing and helpful. Don’t dress up … take friends who like character warmth rather than posing....

I went to Casa Mexicana with my partner for dinner whilst visiting Bristol. The food here was as good, if not better, than when I was cooked for by a Mexican family in Anaheim. The enchiladas were incredible and so filling, but not like the rip-off ones that you find meal kits for over here. It was classic Mexican and full of flavour. My partner had the chicken with rice, which tasted like it had been tenderising all day. These, plus the duck starter, tasted like you were visiting someone’s home and they were cooking for you. The atmosphere of low-lighting and dark interiors makes you feel you aren’t in England anymore, and mirrors the warmth and homeliness of the food. We will eat here ever... View menu
