"We visited on Mother’s Day as a party of six. We had a nice time and the atmosphere was lovely. Most of us had the roasts, either beef or lamb. The meat was perfectly cooked, as were the vegetables, beautiful crunchy roasties and gorgeous cauliflower cheese. The roasts did not disappoint. Very good. One of our party had a burger which sadly was not enjoyed, he described it as wet and greasy , the grease had saturated the bun. It’s described as coming with all the accompaniments which were really good chips and a dump of rocket on the side of the plate. This is one of our pet hates, no effort or thought into offering a seasoned and interesting little side salad, just rocket is just not good enough. No dressing on that either so that was a disappointment. Starters were fantastic, the chowder and ravioli were very much enjoyed and the Tiramisu and sticky toffee puds were great. Service was fine. 5/6 of us really enjoyed our main courses and the roasts are really very good. Just a shame about the burger."

We had a tremendous dinner, over night and the most terrific Sunday lunch. The slow cooked roast beef was delicious, fresh veg, great freshly cooked roast spuds and cracking gravy! We will be back View menu

We stayed the night in this lovely local pub. Newly refurbished rooms, super clean clean, warm and insulated. Lovely William Morris touches. The Sunday roast was one of the best we have ever had. All very reasonably priced to boot.

We booked a night in one of the rooms so we could have dinner then drinks with friends. The food was great, the staff were all really welcoming then there was the Sunday lunch. It would be fair to say probably the best Sunday lunch I've had in a pub for many a year. Well worth it if you're anywhere near.

We had not made a booking but went early to try and beat any rush. The pub was quiet at 6.30pm but the tables soon filled up and the 'atmosphere ' increased. Drinks and food service were very good and the quality of the food was better than on our two previous visits in the summer. We will definitely go back again soon. View menu

Booked in for a birthday meal on a Friday night in January, assuming it would be quieter after Christmas. But no, a lovely busy atmosphere, restaurant full and lively bar area. Food was fantastic. We were a group of ten, we had starters, main and some also had desserts and EVERY dish was amazing. Staff looked after us really well. High recommend!

There’s nothing like a Sunday Roast or is there? We’ve had a few this winter have mainly been disappointed especially when the price is considered. I understand, as best I can, how tough it is to run a business in hospitality as this time. Recognising the tough climate I’d like to heap praise on the F H for 4 fabulous Sunday Roasts. The 2 lambs were to die for the veg was perfect. The 2 Nut Roasts were tasty, though a little too large our only criticism. Service was great; personable helpful during our stay which lasted 3.5 hours. All this the price was very reasonable. Thank you well done to all at F H. We’ll be back.

"honestly I don 't know whether to be particularly angry, or to pretend nothing is happening and be happy; I say this because the place is really very nice, the Tiger beer that I always drink is really very good, and the food is equally good, all the staff are logically kind and courteous, but unfortunately all this great wonder is lost in HUGE errors that could be resolved with extreme simplicity and with a minimum of professional criteria. First of all I would like to know how they can, after the customers have ordered at the counter, tell to them: don 't leave, wait for the drinks, being the only pub within a few kilometers, and having a good influx of customers and work, it’s easy to hire the little staff needed to serve at the tables, (having many tables available . Secondly, it is really shocking to have a good steak on the menu that is accompanied with good pepper sauce, and not even have a piece of bread to accompany it, I had to go to the off-licence opposite to buy a piece of bread to eat with the meat!!! ABSURD!!! Then again, how is it possible to accompany dishes with different products, (such as peas, tomatoes, mushrooms, etc. and not even add half gram of salt to complete the dish, the basic job of a chef is precisely that of knowing how to balance all the flavors of the ingredients that makes a dish!!! At the end there is the small detail that people have to eat on tables that being outside night and day are logically not clean to come into contact with plates and cutlery as well, SCANDALOUS!!!"
