"Haven’t been in a while due to Covid, but found that, if anything, the food is even better than we remembered! The salmon quiche was superb with a wonderful flaky crust, while hubby’s pulled BBQ pork sandwich was wolfed down before I could grab a taste he said it was delicious. Both came with lovely crispy skinny fries, salad and slaw. Had to have dessert too because they looked amazing, and they didn’t disappoint! Nice coffee too. Not to mention that the owner is friendly and a great hostess. Has got to be the best place for lunch and dessert in Bourne!"

"The Blue Bicycle came recommended by a friend in work. I took my Son and Mum for lunch, the cafe is located in the centre of Neston. Free parking available a short distance away in a nearby carpark. I booked a table in advance which was straight forward and easy enough. We arrived early and our table was ready. The staff where really friendly and chatty. We each opted for a sandwich, I had soup with mine. It was thick, tasty and full of flavour. The sandwiches where all freshly prepared and came with a colourful side salad. We all enjoyed our food, a really lovely cafe to drop by for lunch. The cakes looked yummy, maybe next time as I'd promised my son an ice cream at Parkgate, which was about a 20 minute walk away"

"The space is limited but it adds to te vibrancy of the cafe. Well supported by regulars, a good sign in itself, the cooked breakfasts are very good and I see my semi professional cricket friends piling in for a treat that they do not prepare for themselves. Can be a little noisy but that is part of its charm. Service is excellent and the staff imaculate and helpful."

"If I could give 0stars I would. Immediately entered and came to the bar as one of my friends went to find the loo. Within seconds of entering, I was confronted to ask what we wanted and informed them she has just gone to the loo then we are ordering to then have a response of well normally customers come to me and ask what they want not try look for it in a very stern and patronising manor. Instantly was looking up and down and asked where I was from. After buying a round of drinks and going for a smoke it was as though we was on constant surveillance for no reason. Terrible atmosphere when was paying customers with giving them nothing but respect. Had that drink and left. Will not be giving my money to them again."

"Starter was bland and tasteless.Absolutely no flavour for smoked salmon patè at all. Toast was cremated. I 'm puzzled why the kitchen or the waitress presenting the food felt it was acceptable to serve it. Had to ask for an edible replacement when a member of staff passed by.. eventually.. as no-one asked if things were ok. It 's not like they were busy as in the hour and a half we were there no other guests were present. Main was ok. Asked for a medium glass of wine they sent and charged a large glass. When we asked for the bill we had been charged for an adult meal for what we thought would be a child 's meal. When we queried the bill we were told we should have asked for a children 's roast, although that was actually offered on the menu and the fact that one guest was an 8 year old I didn 't realise it was necessary to state the obvious, which the lady pointed out.. that apparently we should have specified. We were made to feel uncomfortable and awkward and were obviously the topic of conversation with the staff that could be overheard from the kitchen. It was handled very badly. As a result they deducted a glass of wine and waived the optional service charge which for poor service we had already declined to pay. Too little too late I 'm afraid. If the issues had been dealt with in a polite or amenable manner in the first place we would have maybe reconsidered but the attitude was far from professional and infact unnecessary. Decor was nice but that was about it! Definitely will not be returning or recommending! Prefer the smugglers personally which is practically next door!"

"We came here for evening meal on route to the North Yorkshire Railway Light Fantastic tour. Car parking was easy with a large carpark although bear in mind our satnav said the pub was up a no through road; in fact the pub was a little further along on the right. There is a wealth of outdoor seating available some of it sheltered should the weather be quite bad. Inside the pub is aesthetically very pleasing on the eye with a decent bar area, pool table off to the left; a large restaurant style seating area is off to the right. The staff were very welcoming showing us straight to our table, taking a drinks order and providing menus. We realised we hadn’t really left enough time to eat and make the railway tour; totally our fault. The wife had a quick word with the staff who put our food on a rush which was amazing of them. Sure enough food was served very quickly and we made the railway tour. The food itself was excellent quality, very tasty and decent portion sizes. The menu was varied and categorised nicely allowing for quick browsing. There were 2 options for vegetarians and a specials board as well. Free Wi-Fi was available with a password displayed at the bar. There is also a comfy sofa seating area just to the right of the bar. The pub is dog friendly which is a big plus for us. Based on this experience I would totally recommend a visit to this pub; I look forward to returning to try some of the other menu options. Food drinks: Great food"

"My friend and I were treated to the “Sparkling Aternoon Tea”. What a treat it was! The atmosphere and decor is warm and relaxed. We were on table 17 which looks out over Northallerton High Street and offers a great opportunity to people watch! We had a choice of wine and took the server, Laura’s , advice and decided on the pink muscat. Great choice. It complimented the food perfectly. Shea brought out the food and it looked amazing! Almost too good to eat. We loved the attention to detail and the obvious care that had been taken to create it all. It made the occasion feel extra special. Everything tasted beautiful. We enjoyed a lovely pot of tea, in addition to the wine. The service was exceptional. Fast but unobtrusive. Chelsea and Sarah looked after us, and at no point did we feel rushed, or pressured, to hurry to finish. We were very impressed and will definitely book again. Thank you to the staff, Shea, Laura, Chelsea and Sarah. You were a credit to Barkers. We highly recommend the 1882 Bistro."

"We had a bustling Christmas holiday lunch at this restaurant. The service was excellent. We enjoyed two delicious burgers, while the tuna sandwich had a generous portion of tuna and bread, but lacked depth in flavor. The dessert was outstanding! On a scale of 1 to 5, we rate the food a 4, service a 5, and atmosphere a 5. We recommend trying the Chunky Chips, Hamburger, and Chips."

"A very busy tea room. We were lucky to get a table but there was only 2 of us so they managed to squeeze us in. Made very welcome. My hubby had the cheese scones with the chutney and it was very tasty and he managed to get 2 cups of tea out of his tea pot a bonus. I had the toasted tea cake which was really fruity and the orange squash with lemonade which was very refreshing. The only problem we had was we didn’t have any white sugar for the tea so asked one of the young waitresses and she came back with just ONE sachet and when we asked for more she looked at us as tho we had 2 heads and went off and came back with a couple of sachets. The place was very busy and perhaps they hadn’t had time to top up the sugars but perhaps in future if they are asked for more sugars they think perhaps I should fill the container up. We were very lucky getting a table straight away as they were turning people away so that says how good this place must be. Good prices for what we had"

"A wonderful hidden gem of a restaurant that is open every day between 10 3pm. We were staying in the village for a week, so tried this place 3 times each time we took the food away to enjoy at the cottage we had hired as we had dogs. Even though one of our family was vegetarian, there was plenty of choice for all four of us each time. Our first meal was Sweet Potato Chickpea Curry, which came with Rice and a small Nan Bread each. Lovely tasty meal with plenty of flavours. We ordered the Sunday Beef Roast as well as a Vegetarian Roast for the following day, and the lady offered to deliver it to our cottage. Again, wonderful quality food with plenty on the plates to satisfy us. The 3rd meal was Vegetable Lasagne a Vegetable Risotto with Mediterranean Veg. Beautiful flavours on both dishes again with plenty of food on the plates. All the food was excellent value especially for the price, and we could not recommend it highly enough. Yum, yum, yum!!"

"Well, where do I start?First time in this bistro and first time using a Groupon voucher in this Bistro. Small place but ok. When I explained that we were using a Groupon voucher the young girl serving said that was ok, so we ordered our sandwich and drinks which were fine. Then I asked for a fruit scone at the counter. The young girl did say that anything extra was not covered by the Groupon voucher and we both said we understood we pay for anything else ordered. A couple of minutes later the same young girl came up to me and said we have fruit, cherry, and plain scones. I said I had asked for a fruit one, oh she said. She returned a couple of minutes later with a cherry scone. I said to her that I asked for a fruit one. oh she said then returned with a fruit scone not the nicest scone I have to say my partner ordered a meringue which she enjoyed. However, the sting in the tail was when my partner went to pay for the extras which was a fruit scone and a meringue. The same young girl said to my partner that will be £6.90. When I heard this I said How much? As we were getting ready to leave a lady from the kitchen came out and apologised saying we had been overcharged and gave us back the change. The young girl had not made sure the till was at zero before ringing up the bill. In my view this young girl clearly was not with it. Both with the scone situation and the bill! If this place wants to keep customers coming back it will clearly have to up the anti quite a bit."

"Have drove past this sweet looking little cafe loads of times and always wanted to give it a try but have never got around to it. Thankfully today myself and my wife were in town and called in for breakfast and it was really lovely. Really good choice available at very reasonable prices and also both the ladies were polite, efficient and friendly. I had mushrooms in cream on toast and my wife went for fried eggs on toast all perfectly cooked along with a lovely pot of tea for two. The cafe seems to have a lot of returning regular customers and we will definitely be returning too."

"My husband and I visited The Anglers today for lunch. We have never eaten there before but have been quite a few times for a drink and have always found it to be very pleasant. We ate there for the first time today and were very disappointed. Although the place was not particularly busy we had to wait nearly an hour for our food. We had both ordered cod and chips which arrived so grossly overcooked that I couldn’t even cut my batter! I finally broke through to find the fish dry, flaky and nearly non-existent. It was unpalatable. However the chips and mushy peas were good!No refund of any sort was given as the food was paid for upon ordering. We will not be eating there again."

"Had a delicious lunch yesterday at this very friendly place. The open crab sandwich and panini were very tasty. There was a large selection of herbal teas and I can certainly recommend the lemongrass and ginger. My husband enjoyed his 2 flat whites. Both the tea and coffee are locally sourced in Newcastle. The two homemade cakes we had were very yummy. We sat outside with our dog who loved the fuss they made of her and they even brought her her own water bowl. All in all a great find and we will certainly be back when visiting the area in the future."

"The Plantation. On our way through the very picturesque village of Polperro we kept an eye open for lunch, there were a few places but only one option that shone out and made the choice very easy. A beautiful hot day so I can only comment on the garden but it was gorgeous. Plenty of shade and the tables well set out along the wall with the stream running alongside. Our servers were all friendly and top marks to the lady who came out to apologise for the delay in the milkshake we ordered (not as fluffy as they wanted but still tasted great Sad to hear the lasagne was sold out (it's probably great we ordered as per the photos a BLT, kids jacket potato and soup of the day which was Dhall with a cheese scone, all very tasty and fresh. A personal highlight for me was seeing Sharps Offshore on the menu! If you visit Polperro go here for lunch (and if you like fudge visit the shop just up the road! you won't be disappointed with either!!!"

"The food was horrific. I’m Polish and I live in Warsaw where we have A LOT of Georgian restaurant that I visit regularly. First of all, the price-quality ratio is totally outrageous. £18 for a Khachapuri that resembled low quality langosh is just outrageous even for London. Secondly, we came to try Chinkali with broth and meat only to be told there are non available ?! . I thought it’s a staple? Service was terrible, the waitress disappeared as soon as we got food did I mention we were the only guests in the restaurant? and the only instance that got her off the phone was me getting up to use the loo, I suppose to make sure we don’t walk out without paying the bill. She even had audacity to put “service charge” on the bill…. Not to mention that soft drinks and beer have no pricing on the menu and I only found out when paying that I was charged £7 for mediocre draft. Honestly, avoid, avoid and don’t bother. There is a lovely Indian place just 10 min walk toward Balham Bombay Bicycle Chef where you will be treated as a guest is supposed to and on top of that you will get some exquisite food."
