"What a joy to visit, we popped in for a morning treat, and that's exactly what we got! From the cheerful greeting when we entered, this was a really vibrant, clean, happy environment. The menu had a good variety of breakfast/morning fayre, along with the luscious cakes and treats on display when you walk in the door. We had bacon and egg in white and tea. Along with a very smooth cappuccino with soya and cinnamon sprinkled on. They had an instant recognition when I said non-dairy so offered cinnamon on the cappuccino instead, along with Oat or Soya alternative milk. We were so impressed we came back before we went home but went to the first floor where they served hot food. We didn't try any on this occasion, however it looked mighty good and was reasonably priced. The staff all so helpful. On this occasion we had apple and sultana cake, San pellegrino lemon, diet coke and a very bold Java served in a cafetiere. Seating very clean and cafe very airy and inviting. We can't wait to return. We really enjoyed this visit! Thank you!"

I use a mobility scooter and had no problems getting around all the store. There is a ramp and lifts so was able to go upstairs too.

Lunch in the cafe, great food, but an odd queuing system to get drinks pay for food. Need more staff on the tills and clarity on where to queue.

I always enjoy coming to this restaurant. I was lucky to find some great deals on their products. They offer high quality options for both men and women. There are also several dining options available. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing excellent service. The scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were delicious and perfectly cooked. They even provided extra hot water with the meal. Highly recommend this place! View menu

This is a good department store with quality products on offer. Clothes, shoes, cosmetics, cards and plenty of other things, as well as a restaurant and cafe which sell perfect decent food and good coffee. One of the 2 best stores in town (the other being Lewis and Cooper).

Barker's , always good on quality, but you do pay for it, However they're always having sales. We bought a smashing frying pan which was a bargain at half price. The clothes department sell some top of the range . I bought a man's jacket in the Autumn sale last year. It's too posh to wear .

A lovely, traditional department store, right in the heart of Northallerton. There's a wide selection of home wares, clothing and kitchen wares, along with much more. Additionally, there are a couple of cafés, one downstairs and one upstairs. Each has a good variety of food and drink, all of very good quality. Definitely worth a visit View menu

This is a great spot to explore and shop. You can find designer brands here, but be prepared to pay designer prices. They also have some sales and discounted end-of-line clothing available at more affordable prices. The café offers tasty home-cooked meals at reasonable prices. There is also a small restaurant on site, but reservations are recommended.

Be warned restaurant prices on display at entrance do NOT include VAT We had lunch at Barkers yesterday. Not only did we have to wait half an hour for our food by which time our drinks were cold but the menu displayed on a board at the restaurant entrance did not include VAT and did not indicate this. This contradicts the law. There were no table menus which may legally not include VAT only the board as you approached the counter. Our bill came to £29.17 to which £5.83 VAT was added. I pointed this out to someone reading the menu board and they commented ‘That’s cheeky’ and walked out.
